I went to this place and had no idea what I was getting myself into. When I went through the plastic curtain (which opens through the middle BTW, not the side). Inside is a big kitchen and they were taking to go orders on the phone. I opted for the fresh cookies (omg soooo good!), the bread roll (absolutely lovely!) and the chicken parmesan (super solid). I definitely needed some cooking directions on the chicken parm, I overheated the cheese by accident lol.

Holy smokes, Batman! The Fat Lady Baker knows how to cook. I would have never found this place AND I would have never stepped foot inside here if I didn't have the inside scoop from my soon to be SIL. This place is hidden in the back of an older shopping center and probably not very noticeable if you are just driving by. However, I picked up two meals from here and both of them were super delicious. Think about those nights where you want a delicious home-cooked meal, but have no time to prepare it. Stop by the Fat Lady Baker, pick up one of her meals, and BAM! Pop it in the oven and sit back (or do the million and one other things still on your to do list) while a delicious homemade dinner cooks. I picked up the meat and cheese lasagna & the chicken pot pie ( just get it!), but she also had turkey chili, salads, verde enchiladas, and a few other dinner items I don't remember. She also has fresh bread, cookies, and cakes. I'm telling you, next time you find yourself wanting a delicious dinner but not wanting to do the labor yourself--stop by! You won't regret it.

Please visit this wonderful bakery! Nancy and Kristen are wonderful, friendly, kind, and caring. The scent of yummy goodies, when you first walk in and throughout the fun visit, is absolutely delightful. These artists are very talented! Pretzels, pumpkin and blueberry bread, cookies of all kinds, cinnamon rolls and chocolate croissants, enchiladas and chicken salad, pimento cheeses and chicken pot pie too!

Popped by the Shallowford Rd / BP Gas Station location for the first time on Saturday morning & had the pleasure of meeting Kathleen who filled me in on all the goodness that is the Fat Lady Baker! I was pleasantly surprised to hear of the quality ingredients that goes into the daily prepared meals. The chicken is organic from a local farm, the beef sourced from Buckhead Beef, the veggies are fresh & sourced locally when possible. Awesome!! Each entree comes with a baguette or veggie. I chose the chicken pot pie & green beans. It was absolutely delicious!! I also picked up a pastry & tried the baguette, both were fantastic. This is a neighborhood gem for a homemade meal on the go. Entrees rotate daily & bakery items are available on Saturdays. Highly recommend!

I've had this place on my list for Pizza but instead got sandwiches. I wasn't really feeling pizza…read moretoday and they feature three options which are kind of like thick focaccia bread with toppings on top. Maybe next time, and maybe a whole pie instead, as I'm not typically a fan of pizza that stays out on the counter for a bit. That's just me, I bet this is usual, so no points off to them for this. I decided to grab The Marino from their menu. I really enjoyed the meatballs. They were super flavorful, a lot better than most places. The bread they used seemed to have been more on the Ciabatta side. The texture of the bread was soft and not hard to bite into. The sauce was not doused on this, which was great for me, so I didn't get any in my beard. It said panini, but I didn't sense the bread was pressed at all. Maybe there is something different about this in Italy that I'm not aware of? The sandwich was great overall, I wish it was larger or had an option to be larger. At $9.99, I really can't complain. Coulda just gotten two. Maybe next time! :D The shop is really cool and carries a lot of Italian/EU imports. I was able to find a jar of Nutella that is imported, which if you know, imported Nutella taste different than US Nutella and comes in a glass jar instead of plastic and taste creamier. They also had lots of pastas, sauces and candies. Some Easter stuff leftover as well at the time of this post. EU easter candy is better than American easter candy. :D When you walk in, the line sort of leads to the back and you make your way up to the front. In the glass, there are various burrata's available for around $8 each. Good for making your own pizza or perhaps an Italian dish. I didn't pay attention to what milk was used, but this is Georgia, so you make do. The drinks are all canned or bottled. They had some imported sparkling waters. You can tell by the fact that the caps don't twist off and are attached to the bottle intentionally because the EU requires this to avoid pollution by people leaving bottle caps all over the place. The young lady at the counter super knowledgeable and ready to answer questions. She was very sweet and good to talk to. I came after a lunch rush, so she asked me to pick a seat and let her know so she can clean it up. Very much appreciated that. Place is a little small and not a lot of seats. If you happen to come during lunch hour, be prepared to get the order to go and sit outside or across in the park center of the square. It's very well maintained from the looks of it and would be a great picnic area. Overall, I enjoyed this location very much. I would definitely come again to try some of their other offerings.

I swung by Season on a Thursday late morning - trying to beat the weekend warriors - and let me tell you, the ancestors were smiling on me because I got sat immediately. The space is that perfect small-to-medium sweet spot. It's cozy but doesn't feel like you're sitting in the next person's lap. They've got indoor and outdoor seating, and while I could see a line forming fast on a Saturday, the flow was smooth. It's got that "if you know, you know" energy that I appreciate. I started with a freshly squeezed OJ. Simple, right? Wrong. This wasn't that watered-down carton stuff; it was crisp, vibrant, and felt like a hug for my immune system. For the main event, I went with the Tamale Huevos Rancheros. These were two handmade chicken tamales topped with eggs - I requested mine fried hard, because runny yolks are a bridge too far for me - along with house-made salsa, crema, avocado, and bacon. The flavor profile was elite. The tamales were authentic and seasoned to perfection, with a soulfulness that reminded me why I love a well-executed fusion dish. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! I couldn't just stop there, so I added a Maduro buttermilk pancake and the cheddar grits to the order. Let's talk about these grits for a second. These are hands down some of the best I've ever had. No exaggeration. They were creamy, sharp, and seasoned like the chef actually likes the people they're cooking for. Even the pancake was a revelation - it was very unique and stood out from the standard "flat and sugary" situation you get at most spots. If you're looking for a spot that actually delivers on the hype without the pretentious atmosphere, this is it. It's the kind of meal that makes you want to go home and take a nap, but also call your parents and tell them you're eating well. I'll be back, just please don't take my seat when I do.

I really wanted to love this place. I had been seeing their ads on Facebook and noticed a few…read morelocals raving about it in my area, so I had it on my to-try list. Decided to give it a whirl today, but was unfortunately rather disappointed. I got a $10 off promo from the Facebook ad, so that was nice, but considering how overpriced everything is, it wasn't as helpful as I'd hoped. I ordered 3 breakfast croissants, two large tater tots with beer cheese on the side, and two small iced caramel macchiatos. It was $37 before the $10 coupon was applied. The croissants were tasty, but mine (bacon, egg, and cheese) was a little on the dry side, and ALL of them were TINY with minimal filling. I was definitely expecting a larger or at least more fulfilling croissant for the price (nearly $7 for just one croissant and no sides). Same with the machiattos. They were small but more like miniature, especially considering they were more than $5 each and lacking sweetness, so we had to add more sugar. The beer cheese was okay, but I couldn't dip the tots in it because the tots were grossly undercooked. They were soggy and frankly, disgusting. They had a strange, almost fishy taste that was rather revolting. This was the deal breaker for me. I couldn't eat them at all, and I won't return because of it. The place itself was cute, smelled delicious, and the service was friendly and efficient, but none of that makes up for disappointing food at unjustifiable prices considering what you get. I wished I had gone to get Burger King breakfast croissants and hash browns instead, which would have tasted better and been significantly cheaper. It wasn't a great first impression, and I won't be back, but I gave them three stars rather than lower because the service was good and the croissants tasted good despite being too small and skimping on the insides. If they are going to successfully compete with the myriad of other breakfast options in the area, though, they definitely need to BOTH up their game and re-evaluate their pricing strategies. Oh...and definitely cook the tater tots ALL the way through because nobody likes a soggy tater tot!
