There are seven of these convenience/gas/reststops. This one is called North Platte South store. They have a hot dog sandwich counter in the back AND a heat lamp incubator that houses these delights...when the stand is closed or the ladies are tired of serving. I'm not really sure. Biggest problem I can sight is a short, older woman with glasses sneezing into her gloves and not only not changing them, but wiping her nose on her sleeve. Ewww! I believe there's a Hardees next door. Thank goodness they sell a large quantity of prepackaged eats; eats that this woman couldn't possibly had touched or sneezed on. Customer service sucks!!! Will never step foot into another Fat Dogs ever again! Employees are very rude and don't acknowledge you at all.

During my recent visit, I observed that while the hot case and roller grill were well-stocked with items like hot sandwiches, pizza, and Tornados®, there was an issue with food temperature and customer service. The Tornados on the roller grill appeared undercooked and were cold to the touch. When I inquired with an employee, I was informed they "should be" cooked and was directed to use the microwave myself. There are no visible signs to indicate whether roller grill items are fully cooked and ready to eat, which is a concern for food safety. Furthermore, at the deli counter, I waited for assistance as two employees passed by multiple times without offering help. One finally said "hold on" but did not return promptly, making customer service feel non-existent. On a positive note, the store and bathrooms were very clean, and the coffee bar and drink stations offered an excellent selection of products. read more

Sign says 2.57 for gas using credit. We got charged 3.17. They blamed it on their signs not showing credit prices.

After driving through North Platte a few times I finally had the chance to stop at this service station and try the food. You would think having Fat Dog in the name would give some credit to how good they are. The first store we stopped in at 6:30 pm, had plenty of dogs on the grill, but literally all 20 of them (different types and sizes) were behind markers stating they were not ready yet. Staff was not helpful as they did not know when they would be ready. I got some brewed iced tea (nasty aftertaste for some reason-didn't catch that until I had left), and went to the other location up the street to grab dogs from there to try. Walked in and they had 1 12" dog, 3 red ones and 3 normal ones(6"?). Grabbed a bun wrapped in aluminum foil and it was cold and dried out (the other 4 were the same). Went ahead and did some condiments (scraped) from the bottom of the containers but could not find a paper tray that the dog could fit in so just used the little bit of foil the bun came in. Plopped that next to register on the counter, paid and left. Would love to say the first bite was great, but after fighting through the dried bread just to get to a cold dog was extremely underwhelming. Such a bad experience between the two stores ensures that I will just keep moving down the road next time. read more

Well my family and I stopped here to grab a bite while traveling home. We were going to order food from Hardies and the woman taking orders was picking her underwear out of her pants, then we spotted a guy who was on break picking his nose and then ran his hands under water, no soap, dried them off and put on his apron and prepared to make peoples food! So disgusting! Ack!!! We went to the other side of the gas station to buy something from the hot food section of the store and all the prepared hamburgers and pizza had been sitting behind the glass since early morning (it was after 6pm). We paid for our gas and grabbed a few drinks. We will never come here again. read more

The items are reasonably priced and the cashier was nice enough to go back outside and get the windshield washing fluid for me. The bathrooms need a little TLC. The soap scum in the sink is so thick, at first I thought it was the dingy color to the sink...but then it does wipe off. The key is that it does come off and someone really needs to do that more often. read more

Customer service is non existent. The cashier was rude when I bought my snacks and then when I went back in to report report the security tape was broken on the pump, he told me to calm down. I told him I wasn't upset and the absolute best way to get a woman who is upset to calm down is to tell her to calm down. The jerk had no clue what the security tape was for or what to do about it being broken, even after I explained it. Don't go here. Save yourself reporting unwanted charges on your card and head elsewhere for good service. read more

False advertising!! Drove past 2 cheaper gas stations because this one advertised online and on the billboard. Just to find out that the gas was both more expensive and the price that was advertised was for 88 unleaded not 87 (regular) unleaded. People were nice this just really urked me. read more

You are nowhere. The sign itself makes explicit mention of this. As others have noted, it is highly annoying to have to pay 2 different prices, depending on your method of payment, but I was hitting the road and wanted to make tracks, not fuck around looking for another place. There is also a Hardee's attached to this place and it is annoying to try to into and out of. Almost certainly will not ever be hitting this place again, though the price difference for cards, which I always use when traveling, and cash was not enough for me to waste time going inside to pay. I will, however, greatly question the wisdom of that when paying cash requires you to go inside, which strikes me as not the thing you necessarily want to be encouraging during a pandemic when you could as easily have patrons pay at the pump and stay outside... read more

I will let you decide if this gas station is ethical. The judicial system has already determined that what this gas station does is legal. For instance Gulf Fat Dogs will post a sale of $2 per gallon. However this is the cash price. The credit card price is for instance $2.05 per gallon. Still not a bad price you think but that is only on "designated pumps". That's right you must go to the designated pumps. So you go to the designated pump, read the instructions, put your credit card in, pull out the nozzle, hit the $2 per gallon tab and start pumping gas. But wait, the $2.50 per gallon tab is flashing as you are pumping gas and you hit the $2 per gallon tab. What The %#*&$% happened? You not only must go to the designated pumps. You must use the correct nozzle and there are Three of them on each pump. Welcome to North Platte, Nebraska. read more
