We did a long run and wanted a quick breakfast afterwards without feeling like crap, Yelp to the rescue...so we stopped in the nourishing nook for a quick bite and caffeine hit. The menu was simple, offering a combination of breakfast and lunch options with juices and plenty of caffeine. We opted for breakfast basics, the avocado toast was a big serving, perfectly ripe avocados with a hint of lemon, delicious. My husband loved the maple sausage egg sandwich with cheese. Now on to the star, the chai was fantastic hot and spicy and the coffees, even got it to go, were fresh ground and made to order. If you need to host an event, they event have a gathering room in the back of the cafe. My only downside is when food is being prepared and gloves are worn on both hands, you are still touching every surface, utensils, toasters etc and my food...one glove and use the free hand to touch everything else.

Great ambiance for studying or catching up with friends, they even have a little hideaway nook which is so cute. Service is on the slower side, but to be expected with usually only two people working especially when they get busy. Prices aren't fantastic but not terrible, definitely comparable for the area. Restrooms are also clean and well kept, a huge green flag imo. Overall, I've been about 3 times now and would stop back in when I'm in the area

Inside there's plenty of seating in an open floor plan to plop down and get some work done. But I was here for the coffee. Their menu felt quite large that morning (perhaps I wasn't awake enough yet, hence the coffee) but I opted for one of their specialty lattes, the s'mores one. It always feels like a bit of a hit or miss getting a specialty latte that looks quite sweet based on the description - I love fun sweet lattes but I dislike when they're overly sweet and taste syrup-y (high maintenance, I know). Thankfully this was lovely! Yes it was sweet but I could actually taste the coffee. I got a 16 oz to go as I don't think they did smaller sizes. Overall lovely coffee and it's just a shame I couldn't stay to try out their food menu. No photo of my coffee as it's a to-go cup...I never find those very useful unless the cup is fun.

I loved the omelet-- I told the waitress that it was so good the chef must be French, and she said that she relayed that to him, and he said "well, I am French." Accessibility: it's accessible, but a few comments. No steps to enter, but the door is a bit narrow --your wheelchair should fit through, but not much extra. Not an automatic door; you'll need somebody to open it for you (shouldn't be a problem; the hostess station has a clear view.). Bathrooms are accessible, a bit of a twisty corridor to get to them, and if someone is at the table closest to the bathrooms you may need to ask them to slide out of the way. Toilets do have grab bars.

I stopped in last minute while out running errands. I was seated immediately on a busy Saturday late morning and greeted right after. The menu is fantastic. Great options, wonderful seasonal specials. (Short rib omelette?! Hell yes!) I wanted basic, so I built my own omelette with a side of bacon and a hot tea. They have a great drink menu- coffee, specialty cocoas, tea, cocktails, mocktails, and refreshers. I was on my way to see a friend, so I grabbed us each a refresher to go. My meal was out in just minutes. Expertly prepared, fresh and delicious. Also a very nice portion. Sourdough toast was excellent. Generous filling for the omelette too. The only drawback was a common plight for strip mall restaurants- entrance that opens straight into the dining room. No foyer or vestibule means the cold January air nipped you in the face every time that front door opened. On cold days, get a table in the back. I'd like to highlight the mocktail concept, too. I often want a spirited drink but don't imbibe booze often. I love that they have offerings. The entire staff was so nice and helpful. I can't wait to come back!

The house was packed on a Tuesday afternoon. We did reservations and so glad we did as they were not taking walk-ins on the day we dined. The employees were very courteous and kind. The menu is great and so much to choose from. But of course we chose the high tea meal. It comes with 4 sandwiches lemon bread and scones and to finish strawberries. All the food was of good quality and tasted very good. Cucumbers and tomatoes could have been cut thinner on the sandwiches, but the taste was really good. They have a few things for sale, but it is not a small gift shop. The few tea rooms that I have gone to did have a souvenir shop to buy tea, bakery items or small tea pots or cups. But I think their focus is on the tea room and food. Their tea is placed in tea pots that are beautiful and they place it on warmer to keep it warm. With many variations of teas and also other option other than tea to choose from. It was just a great place to enjoy the day and some tea.

Miss Hickory's Tea Room is a quaint tea house right next to the scenic Mill Stream Run Reservation…read more There's a softness to the place with its charming teapots and tea cups, pastel color scheme, and themed tea rooms. I had the loveliest afternoon tea with my mom at Miss Hickory's. AMBIANCE: You'll step back into the 1900's with time-specific decor and waitresses' attire. Miss Hickory's occupies a mid-1800s farmhouse that was owned by the first blacksmith in Strongsville, William Weller. The current owners preserved the historic charm, transformed the farm house into multi-room tea house. There are two main dining areas on the first floor, and multiple gorgeous themed tea rooms upstairs (like the Gathering Room and Storybook Tea Room). The interior contains a lot of refurbished and vintage furniture, charming housewares, and decor. Think pastels, florals, and lace. The space comfortably accommodates big groups and pairs. Small parking lot is available onsite, consider car pulling if attending with a large group. RESERVATIONS: I personally despise the commitment of reservations, but the process here is very easy. I emailed the tea house, received same day email response, and was not charged to hold the reservation. The tea room space started filling very quickly at open, so it's best to reserve your space. FOOD/TEA: Multi-page menu will accommodate all types of tastes. Find another seasonal menu at your table with all the flavors of the season. The menu contains signature plates, sandwiches, soups, sides, sweets, desserts, and beverages. You can have anything from a full tea feast to no tea at all equally enjoying your time. If you're a tea connoisseur, read all tea descriptions at the end of the menu. We ordered Miss Hickory's High Tea Sampler ($23 per person) that contains a shareable 3-tier serving tray with finger sandwiches, wonton cups, strawberries, scones, sweets, and crème. While I have seen larger portions at other tea houses, the food amount was very filling. Everything was extremely fresh, much fresher than experienced at other tea houses. I most enjoyed the walnut scones, they were so delicious! The standalone menu items seemed expensive and were served in very small quantities based on our observation of other guests. I don't think that ordering standalone items offers value. My mom thought that the experience was pricey, while I think it's about at market price. Since the tea is not included in the sampler, we ordered and shared two tea pots - Loose Leaf Arctic Berry and Black Currant ($4 per teapot with refills but no sharing). They were served with a tea warmer which was incredible, I love me some hot tea! The flavors started out very mild then evolved during our experience due to longer steeping. We agreed that Arctic Berry was our favorite tea. If you're not into loose leaf teas, you'll discover a very long Twinings selection. EXPERIENCE FOR KIDS: Many guests arrived with kids who were very enthusiastic about tea parties. They wore adorable matching outfits. Kids received their own tea experience - tiny tea cups and teapot. It was really cute! The room upstairs (Storybook Tea Room) seems to well accommodate anyone with children, has fairytales book, and play tea set. I can envision an adorable children's tea party in this space. SERVICE: The service is extremely attentive. Five stars! Our waitress was so kind, efficient, and just generally pleasant. She presented us with a demo of additional desserts for purchase at the end of the dining experience. One of them was Bridgerton-inspired Mille-feuille! We didn't have any more room for desserts, but they looked really elaborate! The owner inquired how our experience was at the end of our afternoon tea as well which felt especially welcoming. SHOP: The tea house has a small shopping area by the entrance. The cutest things are tea cup cards with tea bags! We loved our calm and delicious afternoon tea. We plan to return during nature's more scenic seasons like winter or the vibrant time of fall. I think that the views by the tea house will be unmatched. I have to say that it's one of my best tea house experiences.

The cafe is larger than expected. Spans far back where they have a tv set up, carom board game, and an area with a number of board games you can play while you dine. They have a large variety of drinks ranging from chai, lattes, boba, spritzers, mocktails, and plenty of desserts. The staff didn't seem too informed about the menu items or drinks, which was a bit disappointing. I relied on some online reviews to decide on my order. The saffron karak chai was very good and comes out piping hot. I would prefer if they served this in an actual mug (rather than paper cup) especially if dining in. It was filled to the brim and spilled, not to mention putting a steaming hot drink in a paper cup. Nonetheless, the chair was good. More folks eventually started to come in so I can imagine this place gets noisy as it fills up. There was a women's group meeting all sitting in a circle on the floor in the front of the cafe. Perhaps they host group events? Not sure if there were any vegan options or egg free desserts, but check out the chai.

I ordered the blue raspberry mojito, and it was refreshing and the right amount of sweet. My friend said it tasted like a blue Jolly Rancher, and she was absolutely right. I liked the design of the green apple fruit pastry, and it caught my eye when I saw it in the case. Luckily, I also liked the taste. The green part is a hard white chocolate shell, and inside were mousse, cake, and an apple puree with apple chunks. The inside was especially delightful, and both the mousse and cake were light and airy. I just wish the pastry was bigger - especially for the price, but I get that you're also paying for the aesthetic, and I was a fan of the aesthetic! The tres leches cake was rich and scrumptious. The cake was so moist and sweet. If you don't like your cakes REALLY sweet, you might not like the tres leches cake, but as I have a sweet tooth, I adored the cake. The decor and vibes were also great. Not too loud and a good spot if you want to work for a couple of hours.
