We were at koa campground on pine island fla. We were warned that this internet service wasn't a good co but we needed something and this was all there was. So we signed up for 1 day - it worked great so we signed for a month. Ha it worked marginally fora week and got continually worse until there was no service at all. I called their number explained the problem got a promise a tech would call us RIGHT back. Ha! Still waiting.....nothing. So folks i hope you read this review and save your money. this is the most stressed, torment , frustrated experience I have ever had In my life with a payed service! I have been attempting reasonable communication for About 4 days with hardly any mutual reciprocal effort , the phone hardly gets answered to communicate 8/10 calls will go unanswered with no return call after leaving voicemail. when the call is answered no confirmation or confident support to resolve the issue the first attempt to pay for Wi-Fi at pioneer village encore was refunded because it didn't work I tried again after the money was payed still no service a 2 week service it's been 4 days with no internet attempting a refund again no response at all the service is terrible and no explanation after paying why it's not working read more

We are at a campground in Maine and have been full time RV'rs for 10 years! I have never experienced such poor service in all those years. We lost connection Saturday morning and I called 5 times with no response. It is now Sunday evening. I will be getting my money back tomorrow!!!!!!! Worst ever...had this service for 15yrs & now it sucks so bad. They blame you for their unreliability even after buying all new equipment.

How can you throttle something that doesn't work in the first place? Every night at 7:00 PM, I look forward to losing my internet completely. Why? Because Fastwave (really, "Slow-wave") throttles down to a slower speed for everyone, so we can all jam in on their one tower frequency. Throttling is where the ISP slows down your broadband signal to make room for more people. They also do it to try and sell you an upgraded version. This company and all other companies do it. The problem with Fastwave is, they have hardly any signal to slow down! That's why, when they throttle during peak hours, several of us lose our internet connection completely. I pay a whopping $55/mo for this privilege. I do it because I don't want to have to deal with the vultures at Comcast. Besides, they make you "rent" a router for your wireless connection (talk about a head-scratcher). So it winds up being about the same cost. Unfortunately, it's gotten so bad lately, I'm going to have to hold my nose and go with the devil's minions at Comcast. I think that's what I should have done in the first place. My advice: If you have a chance to go with Comcast, do it! Otherwise you may want to try satellite. Anything but this! read more

So frustrated! Every time we have an outage and have to call it takes 30 to 45 minutes waiting for customer service to answer. They offer no real help. We are now in week 3 of waiting for a service technician to come out. In the meantime we have incurred mobile overage fees and are reluctant to leave the house in the event that we will finally see a service tech today. Customer services seems unwilling or unable to assist in scheduling a tech. Worst company ever. read more

I've been paying for service since March. We are almost done with October and there has NEVER been one single day where internet service has not been interrupted. Many days for hours at a time. No problem reaching and connecting to wifi towers. I lost count of how many times I have called to no avail. A total waste of money. read more

I have been a customer of Fastwave/southwest wireless network for about 10 years. They have always provided great technical services. My recent internet problems were somewhere between router, WiFi extender, blureray player and tv. On the phone, they talked me through the steps to locate and fix the problem, even tho it wasn't their equipment or service causing the buffering. At 68 years old, technology issues can create anxiety. But the technicians were patient and hung in their with me. Thank you ! read more

One of the worst providers ever. SIgnal drops off 2 to 3 times per week. They say that they have issued a ticket for a service technician or that a manager will call you. That's a joke 5 tickets and no technician yet and no manager has ever called back. Looking for another provider. read more

Constantly having outages, customer service can't return phone calls because they use their own internet for phone service. Cheaper and more reliable to increase data plan and use wireless carrier. read more

Fastwave networks is the worst ever. $40/month and you might get 2 of this 30days of service. Customer service keeps telling you they are working on the problem . Satellite internet is the only option. The state of maine should require Spectrum to run broadband within the rv park so we can at least work online from our summer home . read more

Do not select Fastwave for your wireless ISP! We are subjected to constant unscheduled outages, slow or non-existent tech service, horribly slow data rates and an overarching attitude of arrogance and lassaiz-faire approach to problem resolution. We have always had good experiences with Fastwave and their technicians. They are knowledgeable and courteous. Any time we've had a problem they take care of it. Even on a Saturday, they returned my calls and scheduled a service repair. We recommend them. read more

What a disaster! These people do not even answer the phone. Good luck with trying to get help. The owner is the problem. They never are at work, You call and call, and get bounced around from line to line, and none get answered. When on the rare occasion they answer, they act so surprised that you are not pleased as punch with them. They have a monopoly business on the edge of town where you have no other option. They do not care one whit about customers. I think they are all on vacation. The service is AWFUL. I bought it for working from home, can't use a phone with it, some days can't play video, some days there is no internet. Do they care? They never even answer the phone. Their phone message says "Thankyou for calling Fastwave. Nobody can take your call. Please leave a message. And they are incredibly expensive. $50 bucks a month for 3 megs/second download, and prices go way up from there. I'm looking for other options. This business is a JOKE.Hope they fail soon so other providers will move in. read more

I wish I had the same luck as Richelle with Fastwave. Heck, I would even take a completed repair within a week and be happy. I am a long time Fastwave customer, when the service is working properly it's acceptable to very good. HOWEVER, when it is not, which is now, about 40 percent of the time it becomes a total pain in the rear to get fixed. At the present time it is not working properly, today is the 22nd, I reported my problem on the 11th, as usual, service speed had been getting slower for about 2 months before contacting Fastwave. Even though I am paying for their service I do not rush and report each time service degrades, I do give it some time, I know, my mistake. Occasionally it actually works out. Then often, there are the other times...like now. I should be at least 4Mps up/down; currently I am at 1.11/.09, with 5 out of services today alone! It is SO slow it took seven minutes just to run the speed test. On the 11th I did get an email that they were working on it. As always, when I replied to their "we're on it" message, I ALWAYS ask to be kept up to date. For me, even a, we're still on it message is acceptable to me, but don't hold your breath with Fastwave, they just do not do that anymore, they used to. I used to get a call asking me to test as they had done something. Nor did they reply when I sent a week's worth of speed-tests on the 17th. For some reason they have been asking for those tests recently when there has been a service degradation. So today my new email (I don't call, they rarely call back anymore either) I asked how much longer it will be, and if anyone even bothered to look at the test results. I ask for a time frame because too many of my prior service issues with Fastwave have taken 5-8 weeks to resolve, their billing always seemed to work fine though. Around 4pm I actually got a callback looking to schedule an appointment on Saturday (totally rare!) I asked why over the past years it has NEVER taken less than a week to address to problems (I'm over 10 days now), and did anyone bother to read my email with the tests on it? Yes, I might not be the only subscriber to be having difficulty at a given time; he would not answer no matter have many times I asked. Granted it might not have been his department, all he had to do was say so. Anyhow I asked to speak to the manager who had just told him to call me, got put on hold for a minute or two, he came back and told me no manager available, not even the one who minutes ago told him to call me? At least on outsourced calls in India you can get someone "claiming" to be a manager. I don't deny I got testy, but NOT obscene, that never works, and I did not begin that way. All I wanted was an answer to two questions, something sadly I was not provided with, and right up to the time I got disconnected, my fault, poor cell coverage. I do not live in the best location for Fastwave service. That being said it is also true that they can and have delivered the speeds they advertised to my home. My problem lies within the times they do not do as advertised and getting them to adjust it. It's like pulling teeth. I guess to sum up today's events, which to me is customer service related. Over the course of eleven days, I had to write THREE emails to have my problem even addressed. Was the Fastwave rep trying to help by scheduling an appointment, without a doubt. He however was missing the point that this guy (me) has been with his company for quite some time, has sent three emails, is still having problems, and wonders why this happens all too often, and would he take some time to explain the reason. I said to him this is how it has been for years, why? How long would that take? Four, maybe five minutes? When I was WAY younger, my customer training was only really based upon one thing...listen to the customer, respond to what the customer is asking. Then go from there. BIG swing and miss on that one. I support mom and pops, but I miss the old days with Fastwave, when they used to be a company that seemed to be proud of the level of service they provided. Over the years they have definitely changed their methods, at least as far as I'm concerned, but their billing is always on time. YMMV read more
