They make these pits out of heavy sheet metal so I'm certain it will never rust through. I have replaced the grates a few times, but that was expected with any smoker. I have the 2040, one of the original models. They have made several changes to this model over the years, but I have mine seasoned JUST RIGHT, so I wouldn't give it up for anything. Even temps, consistent quality. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a forever pit.

A truckload of dirt for $25, guys and goils. That's for pickup. They do delivery, but thankfully I had access to a truck; and they have 15 Greater Houston area locations, so pickup is should be convenient if you have the proper cargo space.
