We are huge DQ fans and eat there probably once a month, but we will drive to another town for it from now on. First off, La Mesa does a fantastic job with packaging--takeout can be a gamble, but everything was packed perfectly and was still nice and crispy when we got home. We started with the queso, chips, and salsa, and were super pleased. The salsa has a nice kick without being overwhelming, and the queso was the perfect consistency (and a great price for the portion!). We also tried their jalapeño sauce, which was so good I could honestly put it on anything.For our entrées, the Chile Rellenos were a bit different than what you find at other places, but we loved them. Instead of the usual heavy egg batter, the coating was thinner and beautifully crispy, and topped with fajita meat. We substituted the rice for their street corn, which was an amazing decision--it was absolutely delicious! We also ordered the Valentin Pizza, which had a great flavor combination. Their chicken was perfectly seasoned and paired beautifully with their pickled purple onions (I could eat a whole bowl of those onions by themselves!).
