He measured our windows and asked us when we would like to have them installed. He told us that it takes three days to manufacture to spec. Mr Flores and his assistant came out and replaced our windows within a day. He hauled away our old windows, cleaned the new windows and rehung our window co rings - drapes and blinds. He also came out for a couple of hours the following day to caulk the outside of the windows and to make sure we were satisfied. We were impressed with his communication / letting us know when he would arrive, if he was running late and answering any questions we had. We ended up with ten double panes single hung windows with argon gas in between the glass. We were told that the argon helps to retain heat in the winter and keep out heat in the summer. The windows have a to tint to them so you can't see in from the outside. We were so impressed with his professional ism, his dedication to his craft that we plan to use him for another one of our homes.

I love the look of the windows, however I think I would just get a different brand in the future to save money, unless it was a very specific application. The pros vs cons for us are : Pros: --They have a window grid option to match the look of the grids on original wood windows. --The screens are the finest mesh that I've seen (therefore the easiest to see out of). --They did an aluminum wrap on the exterior wood window sills, which is great for durability. --Great customer service. --Great communication. --Great installation crew. Cons: --Defective grids. In our case, the grids on the windows were improperly mounted to ALL 3 windows, meaning that they either weren't straight, were misaligned, and/or had large gaps in the seams. They are now going to replace ALL 3 windows to fix this problem. --Windows (and sliding doors) feel "heavy" and therefore are harder to open/close than other brands. --Annoying sales tactics. Salespeople always attempt to make you feel like you're getting a discount/deal, but ultimately, they charge about 3X more than other brands/vendors. Example: 3 windows from them were about $15K, but 3 (larger) windows (Milgard brand) from another vendor were about $5K. (Both brands of windows have similar u-factor, solar heat gain coefficient, and visible transmittance numbers.) --They required 2 additional appointments, as compared to other vendors. One is to test for lead in the paint (due to age of our house), the other one is to have an inspector come by after the job. Inconvenient. --The inspector might go into other rooms of your house (that did not have any work performed), to check that your smoke alarms are up to code. --The nice aluminum wrap on our exterior window sills has a weird bend in one seam, and it doesn't match the other side, but it only matters if you care how it looks when standing up close.

There was no real breakdown or formal estimate, just a number thrown out there after all the talking. I had already received other quotes around $20,000 for similar work. When I mentioned that, the sales rep said that if someone is quoting $20,000 it must be cheap products that will not last more than six years. That sounded more like a scare tactic than an honest explanation. The most annoying part was at the end. I told him that it seemed like he did not even want to measure anything around my house and that it was fine if he just left. Instead of addressing that, he actually had the audacity to tell me that a survey would be coming and asked me to give him a 10 star review. After sitting through a long sales pitch, not even receiving a real quote, and then being asked for a perfect review, the whole experience felt like a complete waste of time. I had a side entry door install that was okay but the door had termites eating it in less than…read more6months. All door wasn't the issue cause it was a steel door the door sweep and jamb was the issue. Justin expected me to explain to him my issue know the terms to describe the issue I was having. Which now I know after arguments w him at first. I would have thought Justin would send someone out to inspect rather than just a phone call to conclude anything. I was told termites don't eat new wood, especially pine which I found out all are not true especially pine wood. Termites love pine! Hermosa window door didn't paint the inside of the jamb before install. Who doesn't do that! Only told me to paint the outside which I did as told by the installer to avoid termite eating the wood and protect the wood. Lowe's would not replace it and do the job correct. Funny I had the house tented prior to install. But again Justin said I need to tent my home. It's my fault termites are eating the door I guess. Zero possibility they were with the wood they brought. And even if Lowe's said they'd okay the door sweep to be redone I wouldn't want hermosa window and door to do the redo. I adjusted this review to say one last thing. The door was installed properly given the manufacturer supplies given. It is not hermosa fault mostly. I wish the installer would have recommended painting inside yes he did check prior and found no damage that why it's confusing tent and no damage but after six months door is getting eaten from inside. I'm puzzled. in the end are they just the installer. Lowe's and the manufacturer are at fault mostly.
