Another negative review for this company - would leave negative stars if it was an option. After getting conned into buying a brand-new AC/Furnace in August 2025, I have already had to have them out to service it 3 times. Most recently, on April 1, 2026, I noticed that my AC was not cooling. I called for an appointment, and a tech showed up an hour late, but without a ladder to get to my AC 4 flights up and claimed they didn't know it was on the roof... even after they installed it less than a year ago and have already had to service it once in October 2025. The set up a second appointment for anytime on 4/4/26, but Fast Response was a no call/no show. I talked to 2 supervisors on 4/6/26 and both wanted to schedule a 4/7/26 appointment, which I agreed to even thought it meant taking more time off work. They didn't show up again, but Bill (Central Ohio Supervisor) called at 7pm to berate me for scheduling an appointment for AC when it was 45 degrees outside. I corrected and stated that it was 80 the first two times I had an appointment and this was their fault. He was very disrespectful and rescheduled, for the 4th appointment on Sunday 4/12/26. After sending multiple texts, and then calling Bill on Sunday 4/12 from a new phone number he answered and admitted he was never planning to come out, so would have been another no call/no show had we not tricked him into answering his phone. He said he would send someone out tomorrow. For the 5th appointment, a tech showed up, an hour late and made a very simple fix. You cannot count on this company. They have the worst customer service I've ever dealt with and I can't wait to be done with them after my service contract with them expires in August 2027. No call no showed multiple times while without heat when they had ordered the part 5 days earlier when each time I called to make sure they were coming that day and I was "guaranteed" they'll be there...day 8 finally get a call from them...and they're saying they don't have the part yet...well that would have been nice to know before you ghosted me day 5 and 6. Never called to reschedule only to have a tech message on day 10 saying they were on their way. We were at first appreciative that they could come out on a Sunday with level 3 emergency in place. They took advantage of us and WAY overcharged us. We felt that we had to proceed because of the sub zero temperatures but wish we would have waited. Their communication was poor and hate it that there are companies out there that take advantage during emergency situations. I would not recommend using them. read more

My home warranty offered an A/C check up. They sent a tech from Fast Response. He immediately after turning air on stated it was not cooling. Upon checking outside unit he told me I had no coolant in my a/c and he suspected a leak. He would have to request the home warranty to provide coolant before he could add coolant and determine if and where the leak is and how to fix it. He then quoted that the cost for a new furnace and a/c would cost 12 to 15 thousand. He stated he would put the order in with warranty company to add coolant. Never heard back from Fast Response or my warranty company. I did have another air company come out and he added 1 lb of coolant and it is working fine. If there was a ZERO rating... Absolute worst company. No call - no show, inept lying techs. First American Home Warranty sent these scoundrels to my home. When the tech did finally arrived he installed a dirty used fan motor that was making noise. Sorry, we can't fix noise. Back and forth between FAHW and Fast Response. Yes they installed a New motor, no we didn't, yes we did and finally no we didn't. So now because of the criminal conspiracy between the two I have to buy and install a New motor. Ant then there was the great water leak from my a/c unit all over my floor damaging my property. Multiple photos were taken. Tech came out and told me that the drain line was leaking and out of code and he couldn't do anything about the water leaking all over my floor. Tech wanted almost 800$ to replace a piece of 20$ PVC pipe. Come to find out there is no code for the diameter of the drain line and the leak was not coming from the drain line. Lie # 2. I suggest that everyone avoid Fast Response and FAHW as these people do not deserve your hard earned money. Liars are the worst. read more

I called them in a panic. a full two weeks of 90 plus degree weather and a non functioning Ac unit. within two hours of my call Andrew was at my house diagnosing the issue, requesting parts and have repair tech on his way. less than 2 hours later, my AC was fully functioning and my house was cooling. prompt, professional, knowledgeable and willing to work with me on price to get service completed. Sometimes all it takes is a conversation. I can appreciate Chris contacting me about my heating issue. I was able to understand his side of things as a contractor and him understanding my side of the situation as a consumer. In the grand scheme of things being out 75 dollars is much better than being out 500 dollars. I updated my review because Chris didn't have to contact me - he could have gone on to the next customer and things would have continued to move forward but I appreciate honest communication and that is what Chris provided me. So I paid my 75 dollar deductible but I will have the same company coming out to fix the repairs. Sometimes you have to look at a situation through the lens of the other person - that is what I did - regards of the outcome (me paying $75) at least I understand why and to me thats important. read more

I've used this company atleast 3 times and it was great, BUT THEN THIS TIME 1/31/25(Fri) 9am A technician named Andrew diagnosed that my furnace needs a blower motor and that it would take 5 to 7 days to get the part which was ok, me and my family could go stay somewhere else to stay maybe, but then he calls back and say he has the part and would be back b4 12pm. He calls a little after 12 but I missed the call. I called back 45mins later about 7 times for a few hrs and nothing for the rest of the day. Saturday 2/1/25 I call the office. The supervisor answers and says they're still working on getting the part and he would call me. It hits 3pm, 4, 5, 6pm. My wife then asks if we can go get something to eat, but I didn't know it was my 50th surprise bday party. Fast response called at 7:21pm. I call them Sunday 2/1/25 9:16am the next morning and the same supervisor (SID I think) says he'll get someone out, and he couldn't give a time. I don't go to church, I just sit there all day. 6 30pm I call back and the supervisor tells me he can't get anyone to me and he GAURANTEED I WOULD BE THE 1ST APPT Monday 2/2/25. They open 8:30am and I wait, then 9:23am I call them and Lordis says I'm on the schedule and someone will be out and they'll call 30mins before. I tell her I'm suppose to be the 1st appt. 11am I call back and she says again she doesn't know when. SO either I wasn't the 1st appt or they didn't start work until after 11am. It's now 12:42pm and no call no show. I stayed home again all day and still nothing. They're communication is garbage and they're liars. Tey should communicate that service or a call back will be after 5pm so people can plan their day. Holding me hostage with now communication is unacceptable. THIS WILL BE THE LAST SERVICE I GET FROM THEM! I would go with another provider, but they've already got the blower motor and done the diagnostic so I'm stuck at their mercy, but this will be the last time. Our air conditioner compressor seized in the middle of April. Here are now in the middle of May, one month after we have paid for a replacement of the compressor, and nothing. We had an appointment scheduled for repair, but that was a joke: they didn't have the part but schedule in hopes the part would have been in. I had to miss two days of work due to that. Stay far away as you can from this company as they are a complete scam. A tech came out to check our A/C unit and let us know that we simply needed coolant. We were charged $280 to get our coolant refilled just to find out that we actually did not need coolant and the tech simply topped off our coolant (that was already full). The company then blew our compressor during their second appointment and reported the damage as "pre-existing" to our home warranty insurance so they denied our claim. Terrible experience. Unprofessional in every single way. Long story short, our babysitter was at our home when he showed up, in the middle of summer. He turned off our AC, took the filter out of furnace in basement, left it on the ground, did not fix the issue or get us back up and running. Where do I begin! It's been so humid and hot in Columbus OHIO and we don't have working air conditioning. We don't have working AC since 5/12 and it's now 5/31!!! Somehow my home warranty company uses Fast Response for their cooling and heating system, I had to deal with them twice. (First time was 2yrs ago my heat stopped working) This is my second experience with them and I am not pleased. Not having cool air in this heat is not an emergency to them - because we asked if they can come out to us Saturday and they said it's for emergency only. I have a large dog. She's so hot, and we are so hot. With work conflicts and Westerville power outage, we couldn't have the technician come to our place until 5/20. They looked at the unit outside and said needs to order Reverse Valve. So then they came back 5/25 and AC was supposed to work but it didn't. So then we're so frustrated and calling the company to come back and look at it, they wanted me to be at home at 11:30am on Friday for them to come out again. I'm working and so my fiance who is out of town told them to change the time to 12:30, I can be home by then... BUJT NO ONE showed up. No call backs. No one came to look at my AC unit for the entire memorial weekend. This is not ok. Today we are experiencing 90 degrees in my area and we still don't have AC. I put my request for service for my AC unit in 13 weeks ago through my Home Warranty company. There was still snow on the ground - thought I'd get ahead of the Summer rush. We're still fighting to have the repairs done, heading into the 2nd record-breaking heat wave of the spring / summer. Due to my and my husband's work schedules, we can only have service providers to our home Sat - Monday. We told this to customer service on our first conversation. They don't give you a time estimate for when techs come, so we have to be available all day. They also don't provide service on Saturday or Sunday. Week 1 they sent out a tech. He inspects the outside unit for Freon levels, but in order to do any additional inspection, he has to have approval from the warranty company. Long story short: they canceled multiple appointments (can't come when its raining, don't have the part, tech called in sick, etc.), told us the coil was damaged and they were ordering a new part. Ghosted us for 2-3 weeks. Finally answers my call and says they will call when the part comes in. 2 hours later they call and schedule the tech to insert the new coil. Scheduled service day comes and they cancel, says they don't have the part. Then they tell us they can't predict when a new part will be available due to supply chain issues, so they will send a teach to repair the part. Schedule the tech to come remove the current coil. He shows up, removes the part. Ghosts us for another 2-3 weeks. I call multiple times, never get through to anyone and leave multiple voicemails. They never return a phone call. My husband calls and finally gets through to someone. They say they're sending out a tech with the repaired part. The tech comes, thinks he's there to remove the coil. So now we think they've lost our coil. The tech calls his company and they locate our coil and tell us it'll be repaired by Wednesday. We adjust our work schedules to make an appointment for Thursday. Thursday comes and goes, no call, no show. We call and they don't answer. Husband calls again and they finally answer. They say our coil is irreparably damaged and they have to order a new unit. We ask when we can expect the new coil to come in. They say 5-7 business days. We ask to make an appointment for installation the following Monday. They say no, they don't make appointments until they have the part. I call today to check the status and they say they're fighting with manufacturer because the part is under warranty but the manufacturer doesn't want to replace it. I asked them to return the coil they took, because I'd like to seek repair from another vendor. If I don't receive or have an appointment for either my old coil or a new one by the end of this week, I'm seeking legal council and reporting my property stolen. Editing to add: The only people who have been nice / helpful in this endeavor have been the actual technicians themselves. And the customer service rep that I spoke with today (he actually answered & returned a call when I got disconnected. I think his name was Nick). read more

So I call the next day and was told the guy saw my address and had been here before and knew he needed a ladder and didn't have 1 on his truck. So I just sat around all day and no one bothered to call me. BTW I have a ladder he could have used...I have an attic AC so pretty much common sense I would have a ladder. So waited a few more days to get back on the schedule. Different guy comes out - runs around for a few hours, says it is good to go and leaves. 2 weeks later - it is not cooling again. So - Tuesday I call, wait 20-25 minutes on hold and finally a woman says she has to get with the tech and will call me back. I hear nothing back. Next day same thing. Absolute garbage company. My A/C went out and we were assigned Fast Response per our home warranty with AHS. The company is not supposed to accept a service call if they cant send a technician within 48 business hours but went ahead and took it but didn't bother to send anyone for a full week. The guy they did send never sent in the repair authorization to AHS so another full two days pass and the report has still not been sent in. On top of that they claim they wont be able to get a simple blower motor in stock for a full 7 business days. All of this despite the fact that I have a 7 month pregnant wife in the middle of a high risk pregnancy and we are stuck in a 88 degree house. Avoid at all costs. UPDATE! Got a call from Fast Response stating that because I had left a negative review they were refusing service! This is the worst company ever. After 12 days, 30 phone calls to them and our home warranty, 2 no show appointments, our AC is still broken and it's 95 degrees outside. They finally showed up yesterday to repair the AC. They originally told us that it was just the thermostat that needed to be replaced, which made no sense given the "symptoms" we described. When we pushed further, he said that we probably just need more Freon but that probably wouldn't fix the problem and that we should pay him $9,900 to replace our external unit and our furnace.... our furnace is fully functioning so not sure why on earth we would need to replace the full thing and not just the evaporator but he was probably just banking on the young first time home buyers being dumb and clueless. Worse than that though was when we shared the written quote with a reputable HVAC company, they laughed at it and said it was over double what it should cost for the parts listed and for the size of our home. The technician put us in an extremely uncomfortable position and told us we needed to decide between spending $600 to not even fix the problem or $9,900 because he was only working until 4 (it was 3:15), had two more calls 40 minutes away, and lived in Columbus. They can make us wait 2 weeks but they can't wait 5 minutes for a serious financial decision? Unacceptable. He literally left our house without doing anything and we had to yell after him to remind him that at a minimum he needed to replace the thermostat. But he didn't even have the necessary parts in his truck and told us to call back in a few days. Terrible company. Submitted to my warranty company that I had a backdraft issue, which was not true And was never mentioned to me in person or on receipt! Fast response told me I had a cracked heat exchanger caused by age of my furnace! Which was 49 plus years old! I took the loss of 1500 from warranty from their faulty diagnosis but they lost out on a 6000 Plus furnace install! Been without heat for 3 weeks now. For the second week in a row, we were told that the tech would be out on a specific day but they could not give us a window for arrival. We were told they would call 30 min ahead of arrival. After calling in about mid-day to see if we could get an update, we were told that the tech called us (which they did not) and rung the doorbell (which they did not) and that we would have to wait another whole week. Our home warranty company has them as their preferred vendor, and we dealt with them 2 years ago for the same issues, and had similar problems. Here is the response that I sent to Fast Response when they emailed me after finding out that I wasn't "satisfied" with their service. I am disappointed that I cannot give 0 stars for the review. Where do I even start? Your lack of service has been substandard since the first time we were forced to utilize your company. There has been misinformation told to us every single time we used you. Each time, we hear a story from someone in your customer service office, then American Home Shield calls and tells us something completely different. We call back to your location to confirm what is going on, talk to a completely different person, and get a third additional story. There has not only been inconsistency between your organization and American Home shield....but also a ridiculous amount of inconsistency among your own employees. We have had to use your services more than once and have been dis-satisfied every. single. time. We have never heard the same story twice in one service situation. We have never had you respond quickly. We have never had the problems fixed even close to when you estimate they will be fixed. The single only positive thing about your company is dealing with the actual service tech that has been to our home. This is not coming from me, but from my husband, who developed a very good relationship with him and liked him very much. But even this time, we were given misinformation from him. He assured us that the part that had rusted was under warranty, as well as all of the parts that were damaged by it. He said the only thing we could be responsible for was the Freon, which we understood. We are not unreasonable people. But lo and behold, the grand total to repair a 25 year old unit was close to $2500. If we had been told that immediately, we would have asked him to quote us a new unit. Instead we spent the next week sweating, waiting for the wrong answer to come back to us. Then.....in one single day, a rep from your office tells us that the parts "should be in tomorrow" and 10 minutes later, another rep says you're "waiting on disposition from AHS. Also, I am not sure what you are referring to in your e-mail by "So long as services were rendered within 2 business days of receipt, that is within guidelines set by your warranty provider." Nothing close to 2 business days has ever happened, unless you mean....someone will let us know in 2 days that the problem may be resolved in 3 weeks. Enough is enough. It is clear to me that you have built your business on lies. It is very important that you make NO MISTAKE in thinking that is mostly the fault of AHS, or the out of pocket $2500 we were going to have to pay. This is your company. Period We purchased a new unit from a reputable company for $7,000. I am 100% positive that you could have come in much lower than that. Rob (I believe is the tech's name) wanted to quote it out and was persistent about it, There was absolutely no way that I would allow that, thinking that I may have to use your company for service someday. That sounded like an absolute nightmare to me, and I would have gladly paid double to not do so. Very unprofessional!!! The tech sent to my house was afraid to go under the house after seeing a spider. He added too much Freon to my unit which is now causing it to freeze. The unit wasn't freezing the repair order request was air seeping from the part in the house and the blower not blowing when the unit was on. The unit was not frozen when he arrived because the unit was in and the service order could not be completed or attempted with a frozen unit. The dispatcher Stephanie will attempt to diagnose and obviously told me the incorrect information about a coil when the issue was with the improper amount of Freon added by their tech. I requested a supervisor from this company to get my frozen levels back to we're they were before because the additional Freon is causing my unit to freeze and the supervisor which is not a tech refused to have their error fixed and advised no work can be done u til the warranty company authorizes the part which had nothing to do with Freon levels being off by their tech. The original scheduled day was cancelled the day of after I had already taken off work and there is no window to when you would get service you will sit all day so basically I waited another day for crappy service. I am very disappointed in this company that my American Home Shield sent to evaluate our AC unit that wasn't cooling. A technician came to evaluate the AC unit, and came to the conclusion that the coil was leaking Freon and needed to be replaced. He said that the AC unit was old, and Freon is expensive for this unit. Parts were hard to get for our AC unit, and that repair not guaranteed for long service due to Freon having to be replaced due to the coil leaking (3) times in (2) seasons, and will continue to leak in future. I asked which would be the best solution, and he inferred replacement. AC unit purchased was a Goodman 4-ton 13 seer unit for an original price of $7624.00, discounts added to a price of $5695.00. At the time, I couldn't research the unit for pricing, and later found that a Goodman 4-ton 13 Seer averaged priced is $2000 to $4000, nowhere near their inflated and exorbitant $7624.00. We were responsible for this amount, with American Home Shield only paying for a repair. After the installment of the new AC unit, we could tell it wasn't cooling the house like it should. We previously had a 3.5-ton 12 Seer unit, and was told the new 4-ton 13 Seer would improve the cooling in our home. We checked the unit, and found that a 3.5-ton 13 Seer unit was installed instead of the 4 ton. Very disappointed that we had to find the error, and that First Response hadn't notified us of their error. If we hadn't checked the unit, we wouldn't have known that a 4 ton hadn't been installed. We called First Response and they sent out a technician to address the cooling problem. We were told that the unit wasn't calibrated when it was installed, and that this shouldn't have happened. I notified First Response of the error of the 4-ton not being installed, and was told I could keep the 3.5 ton, with a discount of $250, (which should have been at least a $1000 difference in the 4.0 ton and the 3.5 ton), or they would replace with the 4.0 ton. I also asked for a "detailed invoice", and was notified they didn't give itemized statement because they were a flat rate company, and didn't itemize their bills, which doesn't make sense when a customer wants itemized items of a purchase. With these red flags, my husband spoke to an employee about: the inflated cost, installation didn't calibrate unit, refusal of an itemized statement, and the deceiving placement of a 3.5 ton, instead of the 4-ton that was ordered and bought. The employee told him he would call back after reviewing the subject. To date no one has returned our calls or tried to resolve our concerns. We have called at least (8) times with messages for them to return our phone calls, with no response. To this date, no response from First Response. I will never use this company again. American Shield assigned this company to service out a/c on June 2, a Tuesday. They never called to schedule an appointment. We called them. They said the soonest they could come out was Tuesday, June 9. I also setup our cable to be serviced that day since I'll be waiting anyway. Never have they reached out to us. I guess they have too much business to be organized to live up to their name. Tuesday, today, I call the company to confirm my morning blocked appointment. The young lady was very polite and began every sentence with "Ma'am I apologize." She apologized that someone supposedly tried to get in touch with me the day before. 1. I work every Monday so I don't schedule appointments on Mondays. 2. The only miss call I have on my cell was a five second VM with no message. 3. My family was home all day and my ring.com doesn't show anyone at our door. I asked why email or text weren't sent for confirmation. I was told they are to busy to do that. I switched service companies with America Shield. As soon as I hung up from making my new appointment, American Shield texted me confirmation. Fast Response Heating & Cooling was assigned to perform my annual furnace tune-up through my home warranty company HSA. I requested the work on November 1st, 2021, Fast Response called to schedule on Nov 4th. I was driving during the call and was unable to write all the detail down assuming I'd receive an email outlining our scheduled information. I did know that the date was Nov 30th anytime after 1200. Today (November 30th) I got home at 1100 and began working on raking leaves at 1300. At 1530, I called Fast Response and spoke to a woman name Courtney asking what time to expect them. She responds that the technician put in a note that the homeowner was unavailable at 1454. WTH?? I was in the front yard raking leaves! She also said that the tech should've called me 30 minutes prior to arriving. I received no call at all! I asked her for a manager's contact information and she just gave me her first name (Tish) and mentioned that she's currently out of the office. Very unprofessional. I'm at 21 years in the military and lack of communication and unprofessionalism are my biggest pet peeves when doing business. 3 weeks ago I contacted Fast response to let them know my furnace was not working properly. The Techncian stated my thermostat had gone out and he would have to order a new one. Due to COVID of course alot of things are on back order. I definitely understand the delay. But what i don't understand is the lack of customer service this company does not provide. 3 weeks in the cold at night. Beyond disgusted and disappointed with this company's . AHS sent Fast Response heating and cooling to my home to service my HVAC system. The young lady who came to service the unit stated to me that the motor was bad and that the motor was rusty. The technician additionally stated that one of the wires were chewed into and that she thought my dog may have been responsible. I informed the service tech that my unit was non-functional prior to my granddaughter having recently returned to Ohio with her dog. I also notified the technician that I have had a problem with field mice and opossums and she stated, " I have seen where opossums and mice also have chewed lines in the past ." She then stated, " I will have to order the parts and I will return in about a week or so to repair the unit". Below is the report this service tech submitted to American Home Shield stating that it was a maintenance problem. Item Quantity Price Total AHS Service Visit 1 $0.00 $0.00 Unit is faulty. This is not normal wear and tear. It appears dogs have chewed through the low voltage wire and jumped on top of unit causing bowing of top of unit. I utilize a home warranty company who contracted Fast Response to fix my furnace. I placed a work order on Tuesday Jan 7th, and the order was followed up on the 8th when an individual came out and changed a sensor claiming that to be the issue. This work required time off of my employment to accommodate the visit. The "fix" didn't last through the night, and Thursday the 9th I made several attempts to contact Fast Response leaving a message on the only number that allowed voice mails (the other lines just rang to no end). No return calls were made. Reached out to the tech directly who provided no assistance. Finally reached someone on the 10th who scheduled another tech for later that day. Again, more time was taken off work as technician called at 1 PM stating he was on his way. Tech didn't arrive until 4:40. Tech spent a total of 5 minutes looking at my unit where he repeated the phrase "I don't know what's going on" multiple times, when he determined he could do nothing and a part was required. He said that other techs were working Saturday but I would definitely receive a call-back to address the repair. Saturday the 11th I had received no contact from anyone at Fast Response, so I called. I spoke to someone named Tish. Tish had an immediate attitude and blamed the home warranty company for their lack of timeliness in repairing my furnace. I asked simple questions of Tish where she repeated herself until, without authorization, contacted American Home Shield so they could "tell me their policy". When I expressed to the person at AHS that I had no desire to speak to them and did not authorize the three way call, Tish disconnected the call. I made several attempts to call back, and Tish finally answered. She told me "I won't keep talking to you. If you don't stop calling I will tell the warranty company we don't want to work with you". I told her that was tantamount to threatening me with no heat for an even longer period of time. At that time I asked Tish to have some empathy- I have a family in a home with no heat for the foreseeable future, and asked if she exhausted all options to resolve the issue. She then hung up on me again. At that point I received a message that they transferred my request and they are unwilling to work with me. Fast Response was contracted to do a job that they did not complete. When asked about their failing to fix the issue I was met with an angry and rude person who claimed I could speak to nobody else and that there were no options, culminating in them pushing the service off. Waste of time on two different days for their techs to not do their job, followed by an unreasonable wait (2 weeks total to complete service). read more

I don't think I've had a worse customer service experience in my life. They made trying to get something scheduled was as simple as picking up sand with chop sticks. The woman that I spoke to was RUDE. She kept interrupting me as I spoke telling me that they have been calling me over and over but I never once had a missed call or voicemail. Then they said that they couldn't leave me voice mails because my mailbox is full, which is strange since my parents and husband leave me voice mails regularly. My AC has been broken for 2 weeks! Our house has been sitting at 84 degrees, it's absolutely miserable. My home warranty company told me that I could set up an appointment through them directly since no one was calling me. I called them and they said that they would have to call me to let me know when I could be fit in. When I asked for a ballpark time frame they couldn't give me one. When I asked if I could call them back since they obviously were having a hard time getting through to me they said that wasn't an option. What a garbage response! I finally called my home warranty company and told them that they wouldn't let their customers call to set up appointments and they allowed me to change companies. I wouldn't wish this unprofessional, rude, unorganized, lying company upon even my worst enemy. Save yourself the headache and choose literally any other company. read more
