I purchased a Meyer Lemon Tree from Fast Growing Trees because their website advertised a 1-year warranty. When my tree failed, customer service suddenly told me the warranty was only 60 days. Instead of replacing the tree, they offered me a "$108 credit." What they don't tell you is that this isn't actually a store credit. It's a promotional code. The way they apply it is incredibly misleading: The promo code reduces the product price before payment instead of acting like a gift card or account credit. They apply the promo code before any sitewide discounts. On a $114 replacement plant, they subtract the $108 first, leaving only $6. Then they apply the 20% sale discount to that remaining $6 instead of to the full purchase price. It gets worse. Because the promo code lowers the product value below their $99 free-shipping threshold, they then charge shipping fees and sales tax on the shipping. It also became clear that this isn't a true store credit at all. If I use the $108 credit on a product that costs only $15, Fast Growing Trees doesn't simply apply the remaining balance to my account. Instead, because it's treated as a promotional code, I still have to pay shipping charges and sales tax on those shipping charges. A real store credit would function like payment and cover the purchase until the balance is exhausted. This "credit" functions as a discount code, which significantly reduces its actual value. As a result, even though I was supposedly given a $108 "credit," I still ended up paying more than $28 out of pocket for a replacement. What's really frustrating is that if I ignored both the warranty credit and the 20% promotional discount and simply bought the same $114 plant outright, my total would have been about $125. Yet somehow, after applying a $108 warranty credit and a 20% discount code, my final cost ends up around $136. A warranty replacement should reduce what a customer pays, not increase it. The way Fast Growing Trees structures these "credits" makes them worth far less than their advertised value. I followed their care instructions and did everything I reasonably could to keep the tree alive, yet it still died. The real disappointment came afterward. The advertised warranty did not work as expected, customer service gave conflicting information about coverage, and the so-called replacement "credit" was structured in a way that left me paying more than I would have paid without it. A warranty should provide confidence that a company stands behind its products. My experience was the exact opposite. First of all I would like to say the photos they share on website can be deceiving. I had ordered 3 plants lemon, orange and a kumquat Each one of them costed me ~100$ each and they were expected to be atleast 4 ft tall based on their website description. The shipment of our Albequina olive was disappointing on a number of fronts. 1. It was not delivered to the front door, nor our garage door. It was delivered to a back patio door and went unnoticed for 24 hours. The directions on the box told the delivery service to lay it down horizontally. Why? That seems counter to the information I read about this tree before buying, that the fruit should not be used for 3 years. I just recently had a terrible experience with them. I ordered 2 dwarf Japanese maples both came with most of the leaves off. One of them with one leaf on was obviously not going to recover . Their site states they will replace damaged trees.....WRONG! I called after jumping through many hoops and doing a scratch test (dry brown)!they encouraged me to give it some time. This was April. I bought a Cold Hardy Avocado Tree from Fast Growing Trees largely because they promote a 1-year Alive & Thrive Guarantee. The tree arrived healthy and was thriving until the first frost. We protected it (burlap, deep covered porch ~12 feet, fans running to reduce frost settling) and then moved it into a heated greenhouse (~54°F overnight). It still declined and died. I filed a claim and provided the order number, multiple photos, and scratch test documentation. Support then asked a long set of questions (watering method and frequency, exact water amount each time, fertilizer type and schedule, light hours by time-of-day, and soil type) and said they cannot proceed without those answers. They waited till spring to send it out but didn;t pay attention to the weather at the destination. We were in bout of 10 degree weather when they shipped it. It arrived with almost all of the leaves and branches frozen. And to top it off there was half of the roots showing. They didn't put enough soil in the container. When I contacted them they gave me a song and dance about it being dorment and would revive itself. No mention of the condition it arrived in. Well, it did revive itself and now I have a Charlie Brown Christmas tree. Green on the top but only small branches starting on the trunk. It's going to take probably years for this thing to start looking like a tree again. If I can even get it fixed. When I responed to their email again to state this there was NO response. Ordered a Meyer Lemon & Satsumi Manderin Tree. Received notice that they were shipped, arriving today, 4/29. Only the Manderin arrived but the website indicated both were delivered. I called and spoke to a rep. Monica who told me the Meyer Lemon is currently unavailable. I asked why the website states both were delivered. She didnt know but said the Lemon tree is due in on 5/11 and after quality control, it'll be shipped on 5/18. It is a hit or miss with their orders. Some do really well and then others die, but I think it has more to do with the variety or your garden conditions than them doing anything special to that plant. What I really hate about them is that they do not allow negative/honest reviews. There are some from maybe 2021 or older, but they only publish the good ones now. I recently wrote a review for their "dwarf" cavendish, even gave it 4 stars (to test my theory) saying how great they are but how disappointed I was that they are not really a dwarf variety and attached pics of them skyrocketing to 14-15'. While they did publish the review, they left out the pics. Honestly, I'm shocked they even published that review, esp since I eluded to the pics. But none of my reviews rated 1-3 made it on their website, and I wrote a lot of them. I don't like the deception and not being completely transparent.
