I went into Fast Fix to get a clasp replaced on my sons necklace. Not only did Hans fix it in a few minutes, he was kind enough to not charge me for the clasp. I went to them previously to get my sons digital watch fixed and they did a great job then also. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. I will continue to go to them for service. read more

The screw on my Lilly Pulitzer sunglasses came off. I've only had it for a few months. I went to Sunglass Hut and recommended Fast Fix Jewelry. They told me it would take 20 minutes. I waited outside and sat at one of the tables. After they were done, the girl personally approached me and gave my sunglasses. I asked her how much it was and she said there was no charge! Should have read the reviews prior. These guys do overcharge. Had to replace a small screw on my watch. When I asked if they can repair, they held on to my watch and just me to come back 20 min later. By the time I returned they had already repaired it and charging me 20 bucks for the tiniest screw. Funny thing is the repair guy (boss man) told the lady to knock off $5 as if they were doing me a favor as if I'm getting a deal. Still $15 is just crazy. Could have shopped around but needed this done asap. Also, came here in 2 other occasions for battery replacement. 1 batt already died within a year. She has not taken it off for 2 years and he got it off in 5 minutes with promises to resize and repair the ring to its full glory. Took my engagement ring in since I noticed the diamond was coming loose. I was super sad and wanted my ring prongs tightened asap. I took my ring in and was told they would be able to fix it. I waited while my ring was fixed. It only took about 20 minutes and my ring was cleaned and polished during the servicing. Very friendly staff and although I cannot remember his name, the man who serviced my ring was very nice and helpful. Careful with this place, dont get work done here. Teresa, the lady in the front took my watch for a battery replacement, when i went to pick it up the repair guy invented some story about my watch hands falling off and that he needed to fix them, for an extra charge of course. My watch was fine before turning it in. I ended up paying $30 way too much for a battery replacement anyway, But will never return to get anything done with these crooks. They damage watches to make extra money out of customers. BEWARE!!! read more

I had a bracelet I needed fixed and everywhere I went wanted to charge me 3 times as much as these guys. I gave them my bracelet and was told it would take a week. Two days later I got a call that my bracelet was ready and I couldn't have been more pleased with the work done one it. The wife and I went in Sat eve for a watch battery replacement. I stood in the back while my wife asked about a battery. No problem, girl started writing the ticket. My wife a little on the quiet then softy asked about the cost. It's a nice Bulova about $300 watch. The girl turns to the guy doing the repairs. He says he can change the battery for $59. FIFTY NINE? I immediately stepped up to the counter and asked thinking maybe the guy mumbled as I had paid $12 just 6 months earlier for my Bulova battery. You must be kidding then he said ok, I can do it for $39. This must be a joke as I told him how much I had paid a few months earlier. The the guy says, ok, I can put in REGULAR BATTERY for $22" OK, I have to ask, a REGULAR BATTERY FOR $22, what is the difference between A REGULAR BATTERY and the $59 battery you were trying to sell my wife. Nothing, just the warranty. You just said "REGULAR BATTERY" as if there was a difference but now you are saying it's the same battery? To me, this statement meant he was trying to sell me a super duper battery and now that I asked he can sell me a "regular battery" for far less. Further questioning brings the fact that it is the same battery but with a different warranty. $59 battery versus a REGULAR BATTERY? Sounds like the guy was trying to scam us. I told the guy he was a joke and left. I then walked down the way and asked at TicTime how much to replace the battery. Girl there was up front. We can install a battery with a one year battery for $14. I can sell you a warranty on the same battery for 3 years but to be honest, most batteries will last that long anyway. So you are better off going for the one year figuring you'll get three anyway. In my opinion, the guy at Fast Fix is way overpriced and a weasel tying to get a few extra bucks from customers he may mistake for suckers! $59? What a joke, What a crook! Wanted $50 to replace the battery on my watch and 3 days to do it. Place in a Claremont did it for $12 on the spot. Attitude also sucked. I went to fast fix because I was buying a band from sterling silver and the recommended them to do the soldering. Hratch was very nice and took His time to make sure I understood every option that I had. I didn't get the solder yet since I haven't had my wedding yet but he resized my ring and it was a fantastic job. He was very quick, precise, and did an amazing job. He even shined my engagement ring to match the new wedding band I had just purchased. It was a great experience. My wife took a watch to these people to have the crystal replaced. They charged her $50 plus tax. I went in to the store to pick up the watch (they never called to say the watch was ready) and when they handed me the watch I noticed it was not running and I thought that they had replaced the battery along with the crystal but they did not. So, I asked them to replace the battery while I was there and they said that the price to replace the battery was another $50! I said, OK because I wanted to get the watch running again. So, they put in a battery and fooled around with the watch for about 15 minutes then handed the watch back to me and said "the movement is broken" they had taken the new battery out. They did not charge me for that. I ordered a new battery online for 97 cents, removed the back of the watch, replaced the battery, and the watch works perfectly! Bottom line: These people in the Montclair Plaza Fast-Fix Watch Repairs are CROOKS!!! Do not shop there unless you want to be robbed! read more

Was really happy with the resizing of my ring today at the Montclair store. I usually come in for just a simple watch batter because of the good price, but saw the sign for ring sizing. The jeweler today was very good, and I felt he was honest and gave me a good price. The woman that originally helped me determine ring size was very sweet too. I felt she really cared and gave me good advice. I entered the store for 1 ring sized, but I ended up having both rings sized and when they were finished (in about 1 hour) they were both absolutely beautiful and I was very pleased. He polished them and cleaned them. The rings are now dazzling and stunning and have not looked better in years. They look like they are brand new, but they are 20 +years old. I'd definitely use this jeweler again because of the great service. - A very pleased customer. read more

I have never been spoken to this poorly in my entire life. I dropped off a pendant on Friday just to have them set a stone that had fallen out. I had gotten a stone set here previously for about $25 or 30$ and it was great. For this one he quoted me $49 to set the stone but then told me that the prongs were weak and to strengthen them it would $100. For a 36$ necklace. He then tried to back track and say oh well that stone is worth more you wouldn't get it for that price now (bought in December on amazon). I opted just to set it and he said he'd do it for 35$. Cool. Picked it up the next day, everything beautiful. And asked the lady about a warranty and she said yes for 30 days. Cool. Even wore it out of the store. Went about my night and went to take my necklace off 5 HOURS LATER and the stone is missing. AFTER 5 HOURS. Went back today as they were closed Sunday and jeweler that did the work wasn't there. All I wanted was my 35$ back. The lady told me to come back and talk to him because he'd be there around 5 today. He calls me back while I'm still in the freakin parking lot of the mall and tells me that he'll replace the stone for free (cool!) ONLY IF I pay to have the prongs strengthened. WHAT. YOU HAVE A 30 DAY GUARANTEE. NOT A 5 HOUR GUARANTEE. I politely declined and said I just wanted me 35$ back. He then started to tell me that he didn't have to call me and he shouldn't have because I didn't listen to him in the first place and he shouldn't have called me and the only reason he didn't did was that he felt bad but he doesn't anymore. Will never go back here and am calling corporate. Awful customer service. read more
