Blonde server with a bun and striped tee was extremely rude. She informed me it was after last call so I was okay with walking away and I said explicitly that it was okay if I couldn't order but she insisted I was ok with ordering and so I mentioned I was just looking to order a few beers for people in my group and she vehemently reminded me "Well that's all we serve so obviously." Then assumed I was underage and treated me like I was trying to get away with ordering beer for underage people when I genuinely wasn't. I don't understand why I was treated like shit when I wasn't heckling her or trying to do anything illegal. The lady at the front desk rejected my legitimate drivers license because it "looked flimsy and new" it was clear that she was uneducated in the ability to check the authenticity of a legitimate ID. That's unprofessional and bad for business. I have lived in Santa Cruz my whole life. I recently moved to Portland. It was a trip to get rejected in my hometown. read more

My friends and I have always loved coming here to play pool and buy drinks, but unfortunately we will no longer be giving this business our service. A couple nights ago we came to celebrate a birthday party, I look in the door and see that neither employees have masks on, and none of the customers have masks on. Apparently it is required to enter with a mask, but once you are at a pool table you can take it off (someone explain the logic please!?). We enter without masks and the unmasked employee says I can't enter without a mask. I respond "ok well where is yours then?" He and the other employee put masks on and he says "you're not coming in without a mask". I look at him in disbelief, look around the room and see people at a pool table 5 feet from me without a mask. He continues to give me sass and tells us if we don't have masks we're not welcome. The situation was hilarious mainly because the unmasked people required us to be masked, but also was pretty rude and we will not be returning. read more

I wouldn't venture in to Fast Eddies with out a hand gun, body guard, or a LARGE group of BIG friends. In fact, i'm slightly afraid to leave a bad review for fear i might get stabbed, but my brother really liked this place a lot before he moved, and never seemed to have any trouble. I guess its a good place to go if your looking for a bar/pool hall that fits the "tough guy" crowd. read more

I love this place. Yeah, it's a dive, but it's a fun place to hang out for cheap. Also, the owner is a really friendly guy. Tuesday's are Ladie's Night, so ladies get to play for free if they buy a drink (it can be soda or red bull if you're under 21) or some food. Pretty good deal if you ask me :) read more

I do not care for this place at all. I guess it is a good place to go if there are no other pool tables open at any other pools halls in Santa Cruz. I would definitely rather go to Surf City Billiards. The only reason I even gave this one star, besides the point that I can't rate it a 0, is that the girl that was at the front desk was really nice. Other than that, I felt dirty walking in there, and the bathroom is disgusting. The women's bathroom door has a crack in-between the door and the wall; luckily the toilet isn't right in view of the door. The toilet seat is old and dirty and I didn't even want to touch the walls in there or even the sink! I definitely think they need to make some upgrades or at least clean the place. read more

This place is awesome! I come here all the time and have never had a problem at all, the beer is cheap, the sticks are way better than at surf city and the staff is way cooler, wish there was more varieties of IPA but they did add 2 more quite recently. read more

I went for the first time since high school and the "short blonde" bartender, who I'm only singling out because someone else on here did in a really inappropriate way that Yelp won't moderate, was very gracious and helpful letting me know about the norms of playing pool there. She was the only staff I interacted with but was friendly, professional, and courteous. The beer was well-priced, cold, and the vibe was fun. read more

My friend Jill's dad use to own this place. I do not know who owns it now. This was back in the 80s when I lived around the corner, rode a 1965 Norton motorcycle, drank hard, and fought every night. I also hung out with about twenty other people who fit the same bill, so we all fit in with the rest of the crowd. Though I have changed over the years, this place has not and neither have the people who hangout here. Good luck--remember to duck when a pool stick comes a swinging at you. read more

This is a very unique and interesting place. I have gone there for years and every time I greeted by friendly staff. I love how they have up and downstairs pool tables, darts and sports tv's. It is a great place to go with a group of people and grab a pitcher of beer and enjoy the night. read more

I like this place. I never go there to actually play pool, nor have I been there in the evening. I usually go there after the wife and I have gotten a massage down the street at China Massage. If she also wants to get a manicure and pedicure after the massage then I go to Fast Eddy's. I like the place. It's definitely a dive bar kind of Tenderloiny but they always have sports on the TV, the beers are cold and cheap and the bar stools are comfortable. Had a great time there the other night brought my friends in for some pool and beers. Great tables up kept nicely, and jute box.

I just recently started going to Fast Eddy,s because I find, as a woman it.s difficult to go out alone without feeling uncomfortable. From the first time I set foot in there, I was greeted so warmly by the staff and patrons. It felt as though I had been going there for decades! It's a place like Fast Eddy's, that makes it ok for women to step out on your own. So ladies, we don't have to stay home feeling lonely or bored when we have such a cool pool hall that is clean and great for people watching, watching sports, etc It is so big that it surprises me because although they're a lot of people having fun, you always have enough room without feeling crowded al all. And last but not least, they have great munchies! #1 reason I go to Fast Eddy's is the staff. Super "fast', hugely sweet, helpful ....#2 The clientele. Super nice, very welcoming. Too bad this place isn't maintained better. Good thing the tables are in better shape than the bathrooms. On the up side, The tables are kept up pretty well and the place isn't very busy most times - so you usually get to pick whatever table you like best! read more

This place is a complete dive, but I actually really like it. Nothing matches, the bathroom is filled with graffiti, the broken windows are patched with ductape, an overgrown tree has been blocking the light in the parking lot for the past decade, etc. But somehow it feels like a place where you can just hang out, and no one's really gonna care. read more

Me and some friends went here on a Sunday night. The prices were good but the service was terrible! The old man bartender was the worst bartender I've ever seen anywhere. He sat in a chair and either acted annoyed when we needed something or practically yelled at us. It made us not want to go to the bar for anything. I can't say anything about the food because we asked for some fries and that a-hole said that he was done cooking for the night and it was only like 10! I will probably go back here but on a different night maybe. read more
