Baseball fields, basketball courts, soccer fields, tennis courts, football fields, hiking trails, and a kids jungle gym. The playground is pretty big with dozens of slides and swings and tons of fun things for kids to climb on and run over! The whole park is kept in great shape in general. You can tell the community really cares about their space here! All in all a very nice park with tons of activities! They also do movie nights in the park in the summer! This park pretty much has everything; playgrounds, open spaces, ball fields, basketball courts, a hiking trail (allegedly...we couldn't find it, but that was most likely our fault,) walking paths, etc, etc. Despite being so large, it's also rather connected, if that makes sense, and you're able to get to everything relatively quickly. The park is more "open" than "large." For example, you can get from one playground to another, without having to take a trek. There is a ton of space, but you're able to traverse the space to navigate the park. There's also plenty of parking. Also, they do drive in movies and stuff here, AND, it's dog friendly, so there aren't too many negatives. The only "downside" I could see is that it got pretty busy, and just being crowd-phobic by nature, it's less than ideal for me. We'll definitely be back early and often.

Wow - it's not often that you can find totally free kayaking these days! We walked up, filled out a…read morewaiver, got our life jackets, and we were on the water within 5 minutes! We paddled out into the lily pad area that had a clear spot to go through. We saw lots of turtles and a few beaver dams (didn't spot the beavers though). There were sooo many pretty blue dragonflies that liked to land on our boat and sometimes us! We also saw some floating snail shells in the water. Our paddle took about an hour, and they allow you to borrow the kayaks up to 2 hours. After our paddle we checked out the playground for a bit. It was perfect for our 4 year old. It has 4 big kid swings and 2 baby swings and areas for the both the bigger kids and little ones.

I mean, I get it surrounded by a bunch of sand and a lake and trees, but that doesn't excuse it. The bathroom is locked most of the time and after 7 PM the bathroom is locked for the whole night so you have to do a little tinkle out in the pond. It is gross I know, right? So my little ones like to run around the playground and they're the right age for it but sometimes things get broken and it shuts down and my husband he goes out kayaking and then my wife goes out partying at the nightclub so my little kiddos, they like to run wild on the thing and I don't know how this can slide but it's very small and no after they turned one year older they're not gonna like this place mark my words. I love going kayaking at this place and my whole family does but Thing is I don't really like going on the playground so small. I broke my neck here once and the grass is so brown. I don't even know how to believe it. So that's all I have to say after I broke my neck here I came kayaking and I fell into the sewer, but it's OK. I got myself out with the crew rescue teams and then the wildfires happened and then it was a very tragic day, but I'm not gonna talk about it because I don't wanna cry again. Oh my God don't cry don't cry don't cry cry let it all out. That was my husband by the way and my wife. They're the same person. They transitioned a few years ago, so they were a girl and now their husband, but I don't even know what to say my kiddo my kiddos they love this place, but not for long because I'm gonna mark their words out of here. I hope you guys can take this into consideration before coming here because this place is wonderful masterful but I just don't know how much I can trust the employees anymore not there is any employees which is also a red flag there's no employees and who would have their birthday party here. I saw someone having a birthday party here earlier and it was gross and disgusting. It makes my skin boil. I don't know why anyone would have a birthday party here it's really boring, but I feel like if you had a few more attractions like maybe a Ferris wheel or a waterslide or maybe a roller coaster I could maybe come here a little more often and get you guys more money thank you. Challenge Grove Park will always hold a sentimental place in my heart, as it is the place where I…read moretrained for my first 5K. Four years later, I still find myself driving here from time to time to do the old running route. Besides that, I run through the park on an almost weekly basis, as it is part of my running clubs 12 mile Sunday run. The park is open and welcoming. A year or two ago volunteers built the Build Jake's Place, a "boundless" playground which welcomes children of all abilities and disabilities. During my most recent visit to the park this past week, I noticed that a second new playground area is being built. (I can't find the info now, but I think I read that it is going to be a softball/baseball field of sorts, again for all children, regardless of ability/disability). The park also includes a quarter mile track, restrooms, bocce court, a basketball court, and baseball field. There is also what appears to be a soccer or football field set back behind a wooded area that I have not ventured to, but I often see games being held there. A short walk to the other end of the park brings to to an area of the Cooper River, and a large grassy field area where one could spread out and relax. For the runner or walker, there are also some trails, which Cherry Hill Township has been making a point of maintaining in the last year or two, and has encouraged people to take advantage of these areas. I only recently ventured back in these trails, and they are really beautiful, well maintained, and not long or complicated enough to get you lost. If you prefer the roads, a lap around the entire park (Caldwell Road, Park Blvd., Kings Hwy., and back into the park on Bortons Mill) is about a 1.25 mile run. The park area is also home to the old Croft Farmstead, but I'll be honest... I don't know what goes on in those buildings, just that it's a historic area in the township. One thing the township/county needs to improve are the restrooms. On the occasion that they are actually open, they are absolutely awful. Smelly, filled with graffiti, no paper towels, and just filthy. The water fountains could use some upgrading, too... they are forced to be turned off in the winter because they don't utilize no-freeze technology, and in the summer the water is just hot, and therefore useless to an overheated endurance runner. If the park could fix either one of those things, they'd easily be a 4 or 5 star park in my eyes.

****Wintertime Only Review****…read more We heard this park was a great place to sled in the area, so when we got enough snow this year to partake, we pulled out the sleds and headed on down. Gotta say; they were right. While the park WAS a bit crowded, there was still enough room for everyone to get a "lane" to sled. I particularly liked how there was a big hill, for the teens and more adventurous types, and then a smaller, but still useful hill for the little ones. (Also, if you came in basically sideways, where the entry way to the park is, it was basically a medium sized hill.) There is a playground and tons of open space, and even though it was PACKED, there was a lot of room for parking. Signage was a little off, as there is a "bridge" in the parking lot, and someone literally drove their car off of it in the snow, because it wasn't marked. *shoulder shrug* I'm nitpicking at this point. I'm sure this park is just as nice in the nice weather, and it's definitely our first stop for sledding if an when it snows again.

Ample parking and close proximity to Dippy's ice cream stand on route 45 make this park worth the extra miles in our book.

A blast from the past, this is the most unique children's play place in South Jersey in terms of…read morehistory & sheer longevity. Open just 3 days a week for 6 weeks in the summer, it's completely free for kids 12 and under only. (8 and under on Tuesdays). It used to be a sanitarium & still serves as a place for kids to play, relax and eat free soup at noon. Seriously. It's been open for basically ever & is kind of a local secret. Unless you are a carousel expert, then you would know about their famous Ferrari carousel that is still operating and worth a trip just to experience alone. Look up the history online for an interesting story. The grounds are large enough for some soccer games etc. & I saw what looks like a volleyball court there too. There are old trees scattered around, so you can set yourself up with a blanket & camp chairs in the shade if you'd like. Or there are 3 large pavilions and multitudes of picnic tables all over the place. I also saw people with coolers of their own food. She just turned 13 and was with her summer camp. She was told she cannot come back due to her age. Now what is she supposed to do next week when her summer camp goes back? If she was a problem I could understand but she's a good kid and now will have to stay home with nothing to do because I will be at work. I get that they don't want a bunch of teenagers hanging out...whatever...but she's with a summer camp being supervised. And to approach my child and make her feel horrible and tell her she can't come back....seriously? She was very upset.
