    Lake on a warm day

Spacious park with ample trails. Walk towards the center and there's a beautiful lake with observation decks to lookout. There's a dog park one another side of the park, two sides for small and big dogs. Lots of friendly people and their pets. Family friendly and great if you're looking for sports fields since they have plenty of those. All and all a great time to spend a day in any season, especially with the water and all the trees!

Very clean park, huge park with a lake filled with small fish and huge coy fish (no fishing) though. Lots of fields and trails/paths to walk. I think they have some sort of shows or concerts there as well, because there's a huge stage.

Of the few parks that I've visited in this area, this is certainly the biggest and best. Sadly I was only here to kill some time between a wedding and the reception, so I did not get to see much of the trails or the pond. I was raring to walk, but my cohorts had high heels on. I liked the fact that there were several parking areas to utilize depending on your choice of activity. The amphitheater looked pretty cool, much better than the porta stages that are used most times in other parks. I'll definitely return for a long explorative walk.

We have passed by the entrance of this park quite a few times in the past so we finally decided to check this park out this afternoon. I was not able to find a lot of detailed info about this park and could not find a trail map on the internet. When you first enter this park it has a real concrete/golf course'ish feel to it. (sucks but it gets better, see below). The main park is sectioned/labeled by lots (lots A - J ??). It is a mecca for children/families. We encountered at least 5 different baseball/softball fields, numerous soccer fields, playgrounds, large sand volleyball courts, a small skateboard park and a basketball court. Throughout the park is roofed pavilions/gazebos with picnic tables and large BBQ grills (quite large grills, very nice). They also have a large concession stand/building (was closed today) that has a eating area with built-in tabletop checkers/chess games. The park has a large amphitheater (2200 square foot stage) that hosts summer movies and summer concert series. You bring your own lawn chairs, the lawn will hold approximately 4,500 people with unobstructed sight and sound according to what I have read. Not too far from the amphitheater is a retention pond that is stocked with fish (no fishing allowed). Some of the fish were huge (probably well fed by humans?), they were practically jumping out the water. (they looked like golden and yellow carp?). Around the perimeter of the park is a interconnecting asphalt paths for walking/jogging/running. Sections of the paths intertwine into wooded areas that also have more picnic tables. The park has outdoor 'fitness stations' scattered throughout the park with equipment for doing pull-ups/chin-ups, push-ups, ab leg lifts, monkey bar, etc. We happened to park at lot 'E". At the edge of that lot we found a trail head that goes deep into the woods. We were pleasantly surprised. We found numerous trails. Some of the trails were 'groomed' (covered in wood chips), this is excellent for trail running (it was seriously comfortable on the feet). Other sections of the trail have wooden boardwalk sections that cross over huge wildflowers/fern like plants (I wish I knew what the plant species is called). We also walked on less groomed/unmarked trails. We encountered a cedar lake for fishing (need a permit) and a wildlife/wetlands area. We also found a small hill with some dried-up creek beds/streams that had the exposed tree roots that we walked up on, very cool. We liked this park and are looking forward to checking out some of the other trails.

Awesome park for kids of all ages from 1 to 101!…read more My wife takes the kids here every so often, and she took me recently. This place is huge! Baseball fields, basketball courts, soccer fields, tennis courts, football fields, hiking trails, and a kids jungle gym. The playground is pretty big with dozens of slides and swings and tons of fun things for kids to climb on and run over! The whole park is kept in great shape in general. You can tell the community really cares about their space here! All in all a very nice park with tons of activities! They also do movie nights in the park in the summer! If tour kids need to unwind, come here!

Very large, very open, very clean park, smack dab in the middle of Gloucester Township. We went…read morehere yesterday, just looking for a new park to check out, and we were pleasantly surprised. This park pretty much has everything; playgrounds, open spaces, ball fields, basketball courts, a hiking trail (allegedly...we couldn't find it, but that was most likely our fault,) walking paths, etc, etc. Despite being so large, it's also rather connected, if that makes sense, and you're able to get to everything relatively quickly. The park is more "open" than "large." For example, you can get from one playground to another, without having to take a trek. There is a ton of space, but you're able to traverse the space to navigate the park. There's also plenty of parking. Also, they do drive in movies and stuff here, AND, it's dog friendly, so there aren't too many negatives. The only "downside" I could see is that it got pretty busy, and just being crowd-phobic by nature, it's less than ideal for me. We'll definitely be back early and often.

Open just 3 days a week for 6 weeks in the summer, it's completely free for kids 12 and under only. (8 and under on Tuesdays). It used to be a sanitarium & still serves as a place for kids to play, relax and eat free soup at noon. Seriously. It's been open for basically ever & is kind of a local secret. Unless you are a carousel expert, then you would know about their famous Ferrari carousel that is still operating and worth a trip just to experience alone. Look up the history online for an interesting story. The grounds are large enough for some soccer games etc. & I saw what looks like a volleyball court there too. There are old trees scattered around, so you can set yourself up with a blanket & camp chairs in the shade if you'd like. Or there are 3 large pavilions and multitudes of picnic tables all over the place. I also saw people with coolers of their own food. A huge slide, swimming and wading pools, free lunch at noon, plus snacks at 10 & 2, a playground, tons of swing sets and even old-school wooden see-saws = happy kids. http://southjerseyexplorer.com/2013/05/06/soupy-island-revisited/

She just turned 13 and was with her summer camp. She was told she cannot come back due to her age. Now what is she supposed to do next week when her summer camp goes back? I get that they don't want a bunch of teenagers hanging out...whatever...but she's with a summer camp being supervised. The play area for older children has a very high slide and smaller slides for younger kids. There are swings for older children and bucket swings for the littles. The whole area has rubber tire below, so falls are not near as bad. There is a small rock climbing wall, ropes, and a good variety of things to do. The only time you want to avoid the park is on really hot days midday. The playground isn't at all shaded, so it can get very hot. There is also a pavilion area right next to the playground that is nice for having lunch. There are bathrooms there as well. In the summer, the ice cream truck is almost always there, so either bring cash or prep your kids that you won't be getting ice cream. haha! The playground is suitable for all ages with toddler swings/harnesses on one side of the playground and teen/adult swings on the other side. There are 2 different setups right next to each other. One is for older children and the other is for the younger children. The younger setup is arranged like a ship. There are 2 slides attached and some activities. The 2nd setup has multiple slides with multiple levels. The only way to get up to level 3 is by ladder, but the 2 slides on that level are pretty fun. I would say the playground is more for ages 3+, but fun can still be had by all. There are fields all around for football, soccer, or any other sport you can think of. Parking for the playground is limited with about 15 spots, but you can park on the grass all around the playground.
