I've been here several times the past few years, and I've always had great, speedy service! Saif,…read morethe owner of this place, always does a great job, and his prices are very competitive. The last time I was there, I brought 2 watches for him to take a look at. One was to replace a battery, which he did less than a few minute. He had marked inside the watch casing of when I was there last, which was a couple years ago, and stated that if the battery dies under a certain amount of time, I can come back and he will replace it for free. The 2nd watch was to replace my fossil watch leather straps which has these special side handles to take them off and on easily. After a few years, these bands began to completely fall apart (see photos). When I went to the fossil store, they didn't have many watch bands there for my size watch (22mm) and they were expensive. I bought my watch from there on a great deal, but the cost of replacement bands was about 1/3 of what I paid for the actual watch. Saif, while i was waiting for my battery to be replaced, which was, again, not very long. I asked if they had bands for my fossil watch. He said he did, not with the special handles, but he has the tools to make it in. He showed me a selection of nice leather bands, and after I made my selection, he replaced my old band without a problem. He even replaced the original buckle attached to the old one. The cost of the new leather band was also almost half the cost of the fossil bands. He also gave a guaranteed that any problems would be fixed free of charge. The service here is outstanding! My mother attempted to take my husband's wedding ring into the store today for us (as we moved out of state where there is no REEDS nearby), to the Hanover (Arundel Mills Mall) store who claimed to be opening at noon today. She arrived at quarter after to then find a closed sign on the door claiming to now be opening at 1PM. She then returned at 1:39pm to find the closed sign moved to 2pm... so, she decided to wait on a mall bench nearby minding her business until they opened... the store then called MALL SECURITY on my mother to have her removed from the site!!! ...for waiting?! She did absolutely nothing but wait for a store to open almost 2 hours after their "opening time". She was embarrassed and mortified as passerby mall attendees watched mall security escort her out!!! What an absolute disgrace of a store and their employee's lack of customer service. But, before having them replace the mechanism, I brought the watch to Randy of Specialty Watch Repair. He spent about an hour with the watch. When he returned, the watch was back in working order. He informed me that a spring had popped out and that he had replaced it. I don't even want to say how little he charged as his place would be too full. All I will say is that Randy is honest, generous, and competent. My lesson was that a jewelry store, no matter how great, is a jewelry store. A watch is not really jewelry. I took 3 rings to the Lancaster store A ring my husband…read morebought me at Jarad for my birthday that needed to be sized an estate ring to be appraised and resized that was handed down to me A brand new sapphire ring, that when upon purchasing and being shipped to me, the stone was loose when I opened the box, the ring had fallen out of the slot in the box and I believe that's how it happened. It's not an expensive ring, so I simply needed the prongs tightened, and asked if the jeweler could do it while I look around, the reply was, no, he's an apprentice we have to send it out with the other rings. Okay, I leave my rings with them, after paying a bill close to $300 for an appraisal, 2 rings to be resized and a prong tightened. I get my unwearable estate ring back, as it has tiny slivers of gold chipped up on the inside of the ring, and when sliding side to side, picked at my skin to irritation. This was done with their clamps as they resized it, clipping it hard on the laced roped gold. I was in tears with the way my ring was mishandled, as it is a piece that was very dear to me. They took my inexpensive brand new never worn ring, and put it through a dipping process and charged me $100 for things never mentioned or requested, I only need a prong tightened. The 3rd ring bought at Jarad came in fine. As I voiced my displeasure, and told them, no one asked for them to dip the ring that only needed a prong tightened, the management there couldn't comprehend, I didn't ask for anything but the prongs tightened, and IF I was told they were going to do other things to my ring, and had the freedom to choose if I wanted to do all these other things to this ring, but was never given the choice. This was the first issue I had, and called Jared customer service (what a experience that was to get a person) when I finally got a person, I was sorryed to death, with that being their only accomplishment. After weeks of this kind of experience with customer service, they finally escalate, and a woman by the name of Sherry, 330-668-5514 extension 300332 (your welcome), called, more weeks go by, and a phone call in between to ask if I wanted them to take another crack at my estate ring, I replied absolutely not, however they are more than welcome to inspect the damage they did to it, before I take it to an experienced jeweler to get repaired and appraised. She said I'll get back to you. She called me during Easter worship on good Friday, as we were with our relatives and church as my cousin is the pastor. This is not the time to discuss business. I returned her call, and was told, since I am taking my ring to a reputable jeweler, instead of putting this precious piece back into their hands, they can't do anything about it.
