The last time I was there, I brought 2 watches for him to take a look at. One was to replace a battery, which he did less than a few minute. He had marked inside the watch casing of when I was there last, which was a couple years ago, and stated that if the battery dies under a certain amount of time, I can come back and he will replace it for free. The 2nd watch was to replace my fossil watch leather straps which has these special side handles to take them off and on easily. After a few years, these bands began to completely fall apart (see photos). When I went to the fossil store, they didn't have many watch bands there for my size watch (22mm) and they were expensive. I bought my watch from there on a great deal, but the cost of replacement bands was about 1/3 of what I paid for the actual watch. Saif, while i was waiting for my battery to be replaced, which was, again, not very long. I asked if they had bands for my fossil watch. He said he did, not with the special handles, but he has the tools to make it in. He showed me a selection of nice leather bands, and after I made my selection, he replaced my old band without a problem. He even replaced the original buckle attached to the old one. The cost of the new leather band was also almost half the cost of the fossil bands. He also gave a guaranteed that any problems would be fixed free of charge. The service here is outstanding! I was in the market for a sapphire…read moreengagement ring and the only other tip I had from my girlfriend at the time was that it should "sparkle." I did some research online to figure out what style ring I wanted. I came in to Boris' store, he asked me what my budget was, what kind of ring I wanted (sapphire and "sparkle"), took a look at the pictures from my research, and handled all of the rest. He put together a mock-up of the ring, offered his own suggestions (all of which I thankfully took), and then ordered the stones for the ring. When the stones arrived, he offered honest assessments of different sapphire stones, never being pushy, and even offered to discount a nicer sapphire so that it could fit into my budget. I am a busy graduate student, so my hours are not the most flexible; Boris was exceedingly accommodating, offered to meet me whenever was convenient for me (and would text me when I could not meet in person), and even offered to pay for my parking meter. When the ring finally arrived, it was more beautiful than what I had pictured in my mind and it was all the better knowing that it was a completely unique, original ring. My fianceé adored the ring and loved that it was custom-made for her. When the ring ended up being too big for my fiancée's fingers, Boris was incredibly polite and dedicated to re-sizing the ring; it was a difficult job because of how much the ring needed to be down-sized (it was a whole size too big with a very ornately decorated band). When he tried and it didn't work out, he re-made the band from scratch and only charged me for the service fee. Boris has an unparalleled commitment to excellence and customer service. He will work alongside you to make sure that when you're ready to pop the big question, you'll have on-hand an individualized, carefully-crafted ring that your partner will love. An anecdote emphasizing how dedicated Boris is to his craft: he asked me how I found out about the shop, and said that he hoped it was not from online. He said he's worried that people will share photos of the rings he's made online and future customers ask him to make identical ones, undermining the uniqueness of his rings for his customers. I was really moved to learn that he was willing to sacrifice online promotion of his business for the sake of his craftsmanship and his customers' happiness with their rings. The only point of clarification is that there are two shops with the same name (both are run by Boris and his wife, Svetlana). The one listed on Yelp is the one on E Baltimore street, which has a wider selection of jewelry beyond engagement rings and is where Svetlana works. Boris is based in the store on Lexington Avenue. This might save you an unnecessary trip to the wrong store, but if you do make the mistake like I did, the stores are a quick walk away from each other and Boris/Svetlana will help direct you to the store you want.

My ears have healed nicely and I often wear earrings I have bought here as well. They are very high quality diamonds. Ive been back several times and the staff is always friendly and helpful. For someone who isn't a piercing addict, this was definitely a great first experience. Just a warning though. If you are sensitive to the idea of the gun, dont go here as they do use a piercing gun. The internet tends to blow things out of proportion, as I had absolutely no problems and minimal pain with the gun, but if you are uncomfortable with it, I don't think they use the needle method.

We arrived 10 minutes early, as instructed, and waited outside while the employee was visibly inside but had not yet opened the door. Her name is Samm. Rather than acknowledging us, Samm looked out and glared at me. When the door finally opened and I walked in for our 10am appointment, there was no greeting, no "good morning," and certainly no attempt to make a mother bringing in a very young child feel welcome. Samm simply looked at me, looked back down at her computer, and said, "Are you the 10 AM?" Unfortunately, that set the tone for the entire appointment. I asked whether tandem piercing was an option and was told that her coworkers had called out and that it was "going to be a long day" for her. Samm then asked my daughter's age, and when I told her she was 1.5, she proceeded to explain why this is one of the most difficult ages to pierce. I understand completely that toddlers move. What I did not understand was why the person entrusted with piercing a toddler seemed intent on repeatedly emphasizing how difficult and undesirable the appointment was going to be. The overwhelming impression was that she was unhappy to be at work that day and did not want to perform this piercing. Once she began cleaning and marking my daughter's ears, my daughter became upset. She is generally a very even-tempered, easygoing child, and of course I expected some tears during an ear piercing. What I did not expect was an environment that felt tense and uncomfortable before a piercing had even occurred. There was no sense of warmth, confidence, efficiency, or experience in working with a nervous toddler. The preparation also felt unnecessarily drawn out. We were doing everything we could to keep my daughter calm and distracted, and I was repeatedly able to settle her, but instead of moving efficiently during those windows, the process continued to drag on while we heard more commentary about why this age is difficult. Eventually, when it came time to restrain her for the piercing, my daughter continued pulling away. At that point I stopped the appointment. I said that we should reschedule because the process was becoming traumatic and that I did not feel things were moving quickly enough to make this successful. I then specifically asked whether there was someone else who was more comfortable piercing young children or whether we could schedule a tandem appointment. Samm informed me that she is was "the most senior nurse here". If that is the case, I am genuinely appalled by Rowan's standard for staffing these appointments. I chose Rowan specifically because its entire model is marketed around ear piercing performed by nurses in a safe, professional, child-friendly environment. For a company built around that premise, I expected someone who was confident and experienced with young children, understood that efficiency matters when working with a toddler, and--at an absolute minimum--could provide basic warmth and professionalism. Instead, we left without my daughter's ears pierced after an unnecessarily stressful experience with someone who appeared uncomfortable performing the service in the first place. I am extremely glad I trusted my instincts and stopped the appointment rather than forcing my daughter through an experience that did not feel right. I would not return to this location, and I would strongly caution other parents considering bringing a toddler here.
