I cannot recommend this place enough! My nine-year-old started coming here and has done the sewing 101 class and is now a member. The staff is spectacular and so friendly. She is so excited to go to every class and has made a couple purses and a tote bag and now working on a pillow. She is building skills that she can use in the future while having fun in a great environment. I recommend friends here all the time and as a parent I get a break while knowing my daughter is taken excellent care of. read more

My daughter did one week fashion camp and absolutely loved it! We would have enrolled her in a longer session but because of her age (7) we were a little limited in what was available. As a parent, I was very happy with the communications (I received an email before camp about the location change, drop off/pick up instructions, and scheduled activities). FIVE STARS because they've handled COVID shut downs by NOT shutting down!! They've allowed the kids to come in and get their creative energy out. They even sold fabric and supplies to us at the most critical shut down time last March-June to keep us all sane. My daughter started here last year. We were intrigued when we passed by the store front so we ventured in and it's been really positive and productive for her. Very organized, knowledgeable and helpful staff. After the Required Sewing 101 my daughter had the confidence to sew her own handbags. She's now making shirts, shorts, pj's and she does it with the proper patterns and notions. This is a top notch sewing school for kids and adults. Now my kid does the membership where she drops in and sews whenever she wants. There is a charge for supplies and monthly membership. The cost is higher than a city sponsored program but think of it as a private school vs public. You get one on one attention and excellent facilities. I highly recommend fashion camp. We made cloth masks with materials provided by fashion camp for First Responders, at the beginning of the pandemic when they weren't available anywhere. read more

I took my daughter and her friend here for a playdate. And they loved it! The selection of projects were creative and plentiful. The fabric was playful and full of color! The teachers were super nice and encouraging. For there first time experience it was so memorable. When I picked them up they couldn't stop talking about how it went. There has been a few times we went to Joanns to buy fabrics and realized Fashion Camp prices are comparable and on price point. Great place to go if your child wants to sew and make fun, cool projects each month. Also, for Christmas mg daughters made her own "ugly Christmas sweater" fashion camp sells kits for kids to make their own and provided sweatshirt as well so that was a fun protect.... Our daughter came home with a completed shirt. I could scarcely believe it. Amazing they can teach them so much in 1 day. Downside: no one sized her so her shirt was too big. Other downside: She said the other students were a little older, knew each other, basically chatted / ignored her and she felt left out at lunch time and got a dirty look from another student when she dropped something on the floor. Not particluarly warm to people of color. My daughter had high expectations for fashion camp. While the ambiance is very colorful and conducive to creativity, the service we received was less than desirable. As a single father with no fashion experience, I asked on multiple occasions for assistance in threading my daughter's personal sewing machine. Each time I was treated like I asked them to change my underwear. Considering we've already paid $300+, I felt this was a minimum courtesy that would've helped us extend her love of fashion even further. I did not feel valued or respected as a customer and have since enrolled my daughter in classes elsewhere. We prefer to go where our business is appreciated. read more

Person of color who was hit and pushed out of the way by two of the camp participants that were being supervised by an incompetent, mute and emotionless employee. No one cared, no one apologized, no one called the kids out on their behavior. I was bruised and my wrist is throbbing. The business justified kids behavior because their participants are little girls. Um, 8 to 10 years olds who act like self entitled brats and take no accountabilty for their actions is just sad. Worse, no one from the business adressed the issue. Why would I leave my kid in your care if you see something and don't say something? We won't be back as I have no confidence in their ability to supervise my kiddos. read more

Fun place for kids and adults alike! Your creative juices start flowing the second you step into this place. I've done three Paul Frank workshops, the Boo Bag workshop, hosted one party here and been a guest at one party here. My daughter also did the after school program at her elementary school. This place never disappoints. Me and the kids always have a great time making our projects, and we've always been pleased with the final results. The staff are very experienced, and offer lots of help and positive reinforcement. They may get overwhelmed sometimes when it's busy, but they sure bust their butts. This is a gorgeous place where kid's can be themselves and create one of a kind items from tote bags to clothing and everything in between. My niece, the budding fashionista - actually, who am I kidding? This girl's a full-blown fashionista. Is Vice Magazine still a thing? If it is, she's straight outta the pages of Vice. In any case, how to entertain an aimless 15-year-old for the summer? (Well, for a week of the summer actually.) Fashion Camp. I know calling these things "Camp," is the norm. But let's emphasize the airquotes around """Camp"""" - it's only a few hours a day for a week. Even so, Kaylah seemed to enjoy it a great deal. They have a younger kids class, but at 15, Kaylah was in the teens class. There were about 14 girls in her class and all were right about her age. She seemed to learn a few things, a few fashion terms and had some fun with some activities. I know sometimes kids go back for a few sessions, so I'm not sure if some of the other go more in depth. While it's good to have a general primer for a teen who knows she likes fashion but doesn't know what that means, I wish some of it was a bit more practical. She didn't learn anything about any colleges or things to do to prep for art/fashion school at all. Over all though, she had a great time. It's a bit pricey (but I don't have kids, maybe this is the norm for "camp") but she definitely had a good time and the ladies running the whole thing are super friendly and knowledgeable. read more

We like this place. The projects are fun and my kids love creating their own bags, pillows, etc. They have plenty of fabrics and designs to choose from too. I do wish they would add a few more new projects to their fundays rotation (mainly because we've done many of them already). Overall this is a great place to learn to sew for kids and adults alike. We've been here many times and usually enjoy out visits. It can get pretty busy and chaotic though. The staff is usually helpful, patient and kind. My only issue is that I wish they'd add more details to their funday projects so that we know if the project we're signing up for is an actual sewing project of if it's a project where we'll just using fabric glue and felt cutouts. I cannot say enough about Fashion Camp and its staff! I've heard great things about Fashion Camp but did not yet have a chance to enroll my daughter in one of their workshops. My 3rd grade daughter loves all things arts and crafts so we asked Fashion Camp to set up a mobile party workshop at our home for my daughter's 9th birthday. I was thoroughly impressed by the whole process! Erin, who handled the contract and scheduling, kindly accommodated my last minute guest additions. The guest count increased to a point that she had to ask - literally one day before the party - an extra staff member to attend. The ladies who hosted the party at our home - Ms. Mariah, Kirsten and June - were simply amazing! They brought ALL of the supplies including many sewing machines. They interacted in a fun way with the girls and were incredibly patient in teaching many sewing machine-first timers. All the girls had a wonderful time making their unique throw pillows and were proud of their final product. Fashion Camp staff even brought their own brooms to clean up after they packed up. I highly recommend Fashion Camp! We plan to ask them to host future parties. Thank you for a great party! read more

Fashion camp is a great place to take your kids!! 5 of the girls i babysit have been to fashion Camp multiple times and absolutely love it! They come home with a sparkle in their eyes and a sense of accomplishment. They couldn't't wait to show me their t-shirts they made themselves and how much fun they had. Then they all wanted sewing machines for christmas because they have a love for fashion. Great customer service and it makes the children so so happy. These kids can't wait for the next time they can go to Fashion Camp. I wish this was around when i was in girl scouts or looking for a place to have my birthday party at!! read more

This is such a great place for young girls to go and learn to sew and inspire each other. My daughter absolutely loves it here. The staff is very nice, very patient, and has a good balance between helping and letting them learn on their own. We have specifically worked with Erin a lot and she is awesome! I have no idea what the racist comments are about. My daughter has been taking classes with an African-American little girl that comes there several times a week and absolutely loves it. My daughter likes coming here, and the projects she brings home are cute. I find the classes are overpriced for what you get. You have to buy their materials, but their fabrics are poor quality. They are also inflexible with their policies. Once my daughter made a project that did not fit her, and she was upset. I think it is their responsibility to make sure things fit as they are the teachers. They did not offer to have her remake it. Also, I bought a certain amount of classes individually and had I grouped them together I would have gotten a discount. When I asked them about it, they said it was too late to get the discount that they had not told me about. I think it would have been good customer service to honor the discount. We may try Joann's for sewing classes instead. I'll let you know how those are. read more

My daughter attends the homeschool classes and absolutely loves what she is learning and looks forward to each and every class. Her teachers Sydney, Mariah and Mandy have been so kind, patient and super thorough in helping her learn the machines, sewing and running the classroom environment in general. As for customer service, our experience with Katie has been nothing but excellent. Although some might say the classes are expensive, I will respectfully disagree. We have paid about the same for many other lessons over the past few years. Unfortunately we live in a very expensive state and county. I'm sure the overhead of running those sewing machines and rent at The District makes it harder to run such a niche business. In any case, we are thrilled they make it work and we get to take such a cool class with amazing instructors! read more

Very sad to say that I walked in there today with my overly excited 2 daughters just to stand there staring at the teachers who just were walking around. We've taken several sessions now with Fashion Camp through the after school classes offered onsite at local elementary schools. It's not a program designed to build depth of skills or capabilities (so I'm reducing this by one star), but the classes are fun for kids, and they have some cute projects. So, their students walk away with a great sense of accomplishment. Also, I've reduced the rating by two more stars because of the poor customer service experienced by them. read more

My daughter loves Fashion Camp. We have been a few times to different locations and she always is eager to go back. The teachers are really attentive and always encourage them to try new techniques and teach them new tricks. My daughter still has to sew on buttons for me because apparently I do it wrong. :) She recently got a dress form like the ones they use at Fashion Camp and designs dresses and outfits just like she was taught there.
