Been coming here for years and made the mistake of rushing in to have my nails and toes done on a slow day, without making my usual appointment. My experience was horrible, on top of being extremely slow, my nails looked like a preschool child had done them. I came in for dipped nails with a dip top coat instead of shellac. They have linked the UV light to Cancer, so although it looks much better with a shellac top coat, it is not more important than my health. After telling the tech, Jason, no several times that I didn't want the shellac top coat and why, I'm assuming he had no idea what the dip top coat was because my nails were lumpy and it seemed like he placed a normal clear gel coat on top. I say this because 4days later they were chipping and breaking. Needless to say I'm back waiting for them to fix them. This place started off great. Every time I go I seemed to be assigned the worst techs. I see other clients leaving with nice mani/pedis. Mind you this place is more expensive than my old shop in Houston. I get the techs that can't polish nor shape the nails. They always rush my service. I only went today because I received a text saying I could 30 % off my services. My bill totaled $125.00. They only wanted to give me $10 off, I just wanted to get the hell out I was so upset at the horrible work. Then they tried to offer me a $10 coupon off my next visit. I've never left a bad review before and I've never tipped $0 before, but this was such a bad experience that I had to. First, I just wanted a normal manicure on my natural nail. The whole place seemed pretty dirty, and it was slow, which should've been my first sign. I was seated at a station with a very clearly dirty towel, and my manicurist did not understand why I wanted a new towel. Then, she proceeded to quickly chop off all my nails without asking, that I'd worked so hard to grow out, and cut them unevenly, so short that there was no way to make them even after the fact. I had never had someone cut my nails without asking, and definitely never that short. Then she poured acetone in a dirty canister about 1.5 inches in diameter and had me put my nails in there, but my hand didn't fit comfortably. She then just got up and left for probably about 5 minutes with no explanation. The salon was so slow and all the staff was just sitting in the loungers, which isn't really an issue, but being that the salon was dirty and my stylist left with no explanation, it didn't make sense. She eventually came back with a larger bowl filled with towels, a plastic bag, and she filled it with more acetone and had me put both of my hands in it. Then she did four cycles of soaking both my hands in acetone and taking the electric drill to take off the old gel. However, four cycles was way too many. The acetone was painful on my skin and nails, and she kept drilling long after the gel was off, filing my nails down so thin and brittle. She then took a file to my nails to shape them, but because she had already cut them too short, was unable to get all my nails evenly shaped. At this point as well, the file and buffer she was using was hurting me. She had me soak my nails in water, but she used the same bowl from the acetone, and grabbed water from the foot bath at a nearby station. Then she proceeded to get the cuticle clippers from an open used bag, rather than a clean sanitized one. As she was trimming my cuticles, she was going fast and cut my skin. She cleaned the cuticle clipper in the bowl of water and then asked me to put my hand back in the dirty bowl. She put more acetone on my nails with a cotton ball, which is when I noticed the cut because it burned. She then painted my nails. She was having trouble keeping the polish on my nails and not my fingers, but she did clean up the stray polish after, but for the second coat of polish, she put water in the polish bottle, as if it was empty so try to get it to last longer. If there wasn't enough polish, she should have just asked me to pick a new color. She finished and I left. But it's been about 16 hours and they're already chipping and one nail has even broken because of how thin she filed them. I don't know how this place has good reviews. Truly the worst manicure I've ever gotten. I don't even think it's worth going back to get them fixed because I think I'd have the same problems. read more

I ask why not a refund and she said because she couldn't open the register. I used Apple Pay and there was no reason why I had to be given a damn gift card.plus why would I come back? I went to the shop on Saturday, July 8 to get a full set (done by Ryan) for my trip to Jamaica on the 13th. I left for Jamaica that Thursday and by Friday one of my nails came off. I had to find super glue in the gift shop there to try and glue my nail back on for the wedding I was attending the following day. While in Jamaica, I had two other nails fall off. This was not only a week after getting a new full set put on so I was very upset that this happened. Especially since my full set was not cheap!! After my last review - Kevin (the owner) reached out to me, which I thought was great because I notice that most nail salon owners don't reply to negative reviews. After reading his reply I decided to give the salon another try (yeah, yeah I know what I said in my last review, but people like you and myself can have a change of heart, right :--). As I walked in expecting to get my 3 chipped nails fixed at no additional charge, Kevin noticed how thin my nails were, so he offered me something even better. He offered to redo all of my nails! Good thing my calendar was clear for the rest of the day. He also apologized for the previous service I received and informed me that he spoke with the nail tech. Came during COVID the guy doing my feet went outside to smoke came back in, didn't wash his hands and didn't put on a mask so I said he couldn't touch my feet. If only 0 stars were possible. Well for starters, I've been a customer at this salon since it opened. Jojo was my nail tech, he took such great care of me and I never had any complaints until he unexpectedly left. Since he left, my experience has went from 5 star to literally ZERO! Today, I am at my wits end and will never visit Fashio Nail Spa for as long as I live. I came in this morning for a deluxe pedicure, manicure and eyebrow wax. During my wax, the tech brought out what looked like a makeup bag and took out a razor that looked used.. I asked her not to use it on my face and I also asked if it was cleaned. She said she cleaned it but I honestly doubt that. Straw 1. As I'm getting a pedicure, my tech notices ingrown skin and 30 seconds later I'm surrounded by 5 nail techs hovering over me. I felt uncomfortable and asked them to give me some space.. Here's where the gossip & laughs come in. Straw 2 I typically get paraffin wax for my pedicures, never manicures so I had no idea it was included. The technician quickly puts my hand in the wax & ruins my wedding rings. (Picture attached) She then when on and tried to pick at my ring with her nail utensils. I was told my manicure would be comped however they still tried to charge me for it. Once I told them I wasn't paying that portion and they needed to honor the discount mentioned. The manager Kevin belittled me, threatened to call the police, and also called me a liar. Until the truth came out. He later apologized and took $24 off of my $130 bill. I left in tears. Sanitation is an issue!! It's just straight up dirty and I don't know how they can say this is appropriate. Left over drinks from prior customers and no wipe down of the chairs before sitting even though we knew someone was just there and they didn't touch it. Your experience will depend on who you get. My pedicure was horrible. The massage was as though she was just touching my skin. I was super annoyed about that but I guess I should have said something. The actual paint job took forever and I don't truly understand why. For my nails I got the marble. They came out significantly different between hands so I wasn't pleased there either. Be in the know... I visited this nail shop within my neighborhood today and boy was I disappointed. My technician was Ryan. After asking why he did not cut my cuticles, he reported he charges $5 to cut them. He said he also charges $5 per finger for design (up to an extra $50 with 10 fingers). Next, he charges $5 for any shape outside of square and circular. These services are all basic nail care and no additional tools or skills are used except for the nail designs. None of these additional charges are reflected in the lobby on the price list or menu. At this location, individual nail techs such as Ryan are charging what they want. Reminds me of Wells Fargo charging African Americans/Hispanics higher interest rates or beauticians charging extra to wash hair. Ryan unnecessarily told me to go to a lower economic nail salon for service. The statement was rude, unnecessary and unwarranted. What should be basic nail care are now being offered for additional cost whenever the nail tech feels like it. I had to ask him why my total was so high and could he itemize for me because none of the additional prices he mentioned are on the price list. I understand everything is going up ,but customers are getting tired of hidden prices, disrespect and rude customer service. Every bad customer experience makes an impact to business owners. Word of mouth and reviews are powerful ,and sharing knowledge gives customers our power back. I do not recommend this nail technician. Was excited to look for a new place to do my nails, but I will keep searching. I had been going to my previous place for 5+yrs but the technician that did my nails left. I tried Fashio Nail and was a disappointing experience. I waited for about 25 minutes, which was okay considering I did not have an appointment. An older lady did my nails. I asked for a very short overlay. The shape was okay (square round), the overlay was uneven unfortunately. Some were round and others were flat. The lady was extremely rushed. She asked if I had been there and I told her my story. She immediately lost interest and rushed through the whole service. Then I asked for a toe color change and they had the receptionist do that service. She was very slow, but I understood that she might have been training, She was very polite. I had an overlay on my toe that was lifting, so the same older lady came and removed it. So she left me with an overlayed toe and the other one all deformed, so I asked to overlay them again. Overall, the short overlay (nothing fancy) was $50 and the color change was $20. Prices definitely not competitive. At my usual place it would have been about $40 tops for both services. I payed and never got a thank you. I feel like they think that they were doing me a favor, I also felt that the have preference over customers. Other customers were offered drinks, I was not. Had it been a different experience, I would not have cared to pay any price for the services. Will keep searching. Thanks! As I could give this place 5 stars, I'm not going to for the lack of transparency. The staff failed to inform me about the additional cost done to my nails that the tech recommended. As I went to check out, my nails cost more than I pay everytime I come there and they expected me to pay for a service they failed to do inform me. When I asked where are the additional prices for the services and why are they not displayed, they failed to show anything. Today, I arrived for my 2pm appt. with Ron for a refill of my overlay (same color). I had to wait almost an hour before he could see me (frustrated, but I was already there). I was frustrated with that because the girls at the desk always seem to schedule people for specific times without talking to the nail technicians to confirm that they can see each customer at the scheduled time. After my nails were done, I went to pay for my services. There was a lady paying for her refill who complained about being charged $25 for a refill. I then looked at my ticket and saw that I was being charged $40 for a refill. I of course expressed concern to the young girl, who did not know what to do and went to get someone else to talk to me. I was then told that the lady that was charged $25 was a previous customer and due to the salon's inability to get supplies, I was being charged $15 more for the same service. The fact that they would arbitrarily charge customers different prices for the same service is beyond respectful business practices. I would always have Johnnie take care of my feet and Nina (who is no longer there) take care of my manicures. After receiving a poor excuse for why I was charged differently, I will not do any more business with this salon and will encourage others not to as well. I have been a customer of this salon for at least 2 if not 3 years. To be treated this way was inexcusable. read more

I frequent this nail spa and have never had any issues until today. I came in on my lunch break for a manicure. I originally said I wanted shellac and decided to try dip. I was told before hand the dip would be $40. They couldn't find a color to match the shellac color I had chosen and asked if I wanted to change to the dip color they had available or keep the shellac. I decided to keep the shellac. The tech painted my nails, I never received any type of massage (this has never happened with a manicure) and she tells me $50. I then asked why it was $10 more than I was quoted she tells me it's because I received dip and shellac. No one ever told me there would be a price difference. I tell the "manager on duty" who doesn't offer a solution but tells me she's going to educate the tech. What!!! So I then ask to speak to the owner, who comes over and fixes the situation. So I left happy! Fast forward to today. I got my $50 manicure (natural nails) on Sept 28th, today Oct 2nd the shellac is bubbling up and peeling off and my cuticles look untouched. I don't recommend coming here. I came here on Saturday, April 1, 2023. I got my nails and feet done, my feet came out great, but my nails were horrible. The lady that did my nails was sooo rude. I got the acrylic nails, so she put three layers of acrylic on my nails, which made my nails super thick and weird looking. Once she was done, I had dry clear acrylic all over and under my nails. My nails were so horrible my daughters couldn't believe I got them done at a nail spa. I had to go to a different nail spa the next day and get them taken off. The male nail tech at the other spa asked me what happened to my nails and that they looked a mess. My nails were in pain, I just wanted them off my fingers. I have photos and it shows the side of my nails look rough and not neat. I can't stand businesses that don't take care for their customers like the way they would want to be taken care of. I tried to contact the owner and of course no response. I texted the owner who name is Kevin and still no response. If you need to get your nails done and want them to look healthy, don't go here. So I came back to give this nail salon another try. And I'm glad I did. I've been saved by Anh! She is a young nail tech that mostly does pedicures and she is AWESOME! She always has time to chit chat and does a great job and takes her time! I never feel rushed by her and I always feel like she's doing her best work. She always hooks it up with a drink. On another note I really don't like how you have to sit on the side of the nail salon (in front of everyone) and get your eyebrows waxed. I guess they use the backroom to wax other areas. Absolutely Ridiculous Service here! Last time I came.... they set me in a chair and I waited for an hour for anyone to start ven though when I got there I asked would I be done by a certain time. They assured me it would be 10 mins. 10 mins turned into an hour wait. Today, 10/31/2020 I tried to avoid the chaos and miss communication by making an appointment for 9:30. I arrive 5 mins early.. check in. The front clerk asked me to take a set... waited until 10:05 to inquire if my tech would be ready soon. To be honest I've only been here a handful of times because I'm not from here and when I went on Friday. It was my worse experience. I go in with over grown French nails and I wanted a fill with a different color and design and a color change on my toes. As I'm getting my fill, the guy who is doing it, 2 seconds in as he drills my nail it BURNS ..like it HURT and it felt like my finger was on fire. I'm assuming the drill was so high. So I snatched my hand out of natural reaction and as I moved my hand he cuts himself. When I look at my nail, the acrylic on my nail was like down to what looked like my nail. There's no way of two seconds of drilling ONE spot you're already down to my nail..it was too high. Also he was rough with filing. I felt like he kept tugging and bending my finger's every which way. He would try to balance my arm on his bottle of acrylic powder and my arm would be falling off of it. My color change on my toes as fine ! The lady was sweet. She wrote me a ticket for $15(I got French tip) I go to the counter and the lady says $90...I'm shocked at the price so I said give me a break down. She looks over at my nail tech, they're speaking to each other and she tells me "45 for fill and color change , $25 for design" ....personally I NEVER heard for a $25 design so I asked "y'all charge $25 for a design??" She looked confused, hesitated, and said yes. I said okay and walk out ....UNITL i realized 45+25 isn't 75 (he wrote $75 on my ticket) but told her "45 for fill and color change , $25 for design" .. so I go back in there and I ask what is the extra five dollars for. She goes and ask him in their native tongue, they're going back-and-forth and then she turns around and tells me it was five dollars for the shape . So I said, "I asked you the first time for the breakdown of the prices and you did not mention a shape cost." ( and honestly he never asked me what shape I wanted ) My advice to this company and to the owner when the techs are writing tickets, please have the breakdown of the prices there, so there's no confusion. Because I refuse to have someone to add extra stuff, or add their extra tip in there, because they feel like it. I would hate to feel like someone stealing money from me. I highly doubt I would come again. I walked out will my mail feeling on fire and burned to touch ..and honestly I should have gotten something off for my burned finger. I went in July and had my nails done by Daniel and felt he did an amazing job; despite his wife having the nastiest unprofessional attitude while completing the polish change on my toes. I had to return 3 days later due to nail decoration malfunction and an issue with my big toe. Once again, I was treated poorly by Ann (Daniel's wife) and was trying to charged me for her lack of expertise. Daniel fixed my nail with no problems or issues. I decided to make a second appointment based on Daniel's professionalism and his immaculate skill set. When I arrived to my appt, I checked in and was told to pick my polish. As I set there patiently waiting to my surprise Daniel and Ann did not acknowledge my presence. One of the workers approached me and said "Daniel will not be able to do your nails today as the manager has specifically told him he can no longer do your nails." I asked to speak to the manager; however, the manager was reportedly not there. I am a doctor who worked 10 hours and then traveled over an hour to come to this appointment. What really hurt me was Daniel and Ann did not come to talk to me personally about whatever the issue may have been and made no eye contact. I am preparing for a fundraiser social for the city of Houston and trusted Fashio Nail Spa and Daniel to complete my look for this event. After speaking to others about my experience this appears to be common amongst the African American women. I felt racially profiled, ridicule, and embarrassed. My lawyer has been contacted about this unpleasant and unfortunate experience and will be attending to this matter. read more
