It exposes a truth; that we are being fleeced by many pubs and it's mostly only the extent/degree of the rip off. So for quality of drinks and price it's 5 star. Food is also cheap - it's not a gastro experience it a cheap and sometimes cheerful dining experience - because it's cheap food. They don't hide that it is cheap and if that's your bag well ya pays yer money and ya takes your chance. Again it's 5 star for the spirit behind the intention not to rip you off so it's cheap food sold at a competitive price - take it or go elsewhere. Customer service here is low like the prices or it was such teatime on a sunny Saturday and if you have high expectations perhaps you'll be better off going elsewhere. Orders can technically be done by an app but it appeared not to work when we were there. We only wanted coffee. The place was filthy, the ground around us in the huge outside dining area was littered with chicken bones, the tables full of dirty plates and waste food everywhere not just the table tops but the seating and again the ground. Neither coffee machine was working and it took well over 10 minutes toing and froing by staff to make them ready to work. It was unacceptable and inside was as hectic as outside. The staff were run off their feet and were barely coping. A manger eventually and thumped the coffee machine that has a beneficial effect but he and the Franke coffee machines had one thing in common neither could cope with the demands placed on them not even close. The coffee was cheap from a machine offering flat whites, cappuccinos etc with free refills at under £2 a cup (you pay for the cup and it's DIY) but none of the four of us wanted a refill. We just wanted to leave. And we did, quickly. Horses for courses and won't return but they'll thrive simply by not robbing their customers blind underpinned by a say it as it is policy.

Turns out they are pre-made so they had to reheat another one.The person at fault was the chef who sent it down incomplete in the first place instead of spotting someone else's mistake. Also staff are often standing around talking. and doing nothing. Unbelievably sloppy and shoddy.

A perfect wee hotel bar named after famous hotel guest Hardy, from Laurel and Hardy obviously…read more The bar itself is has over seven draft beers on tap including Smithwicks and Hop House 13, they also stock a range of spirits including a load of Irish Whiskeys. They don't have ginger beer though! The staff are great, considering the size of the bar they keep everything running smoothly. We asked a member of staff for advice on what to do while visiting and she immediately sent over a local employee who gave us some tips. Although we just ended up staying in Hardy's all evening. They serve food, it's a more casual dining experience than the hotel restaurant serving up burgers and wings - more traditional pub grub. I can't fault the bar at all - it was really busy when we visited, which I imagine it would be most evenings. Don't bother venturing in to town before trying this bar out!

We didn't really mind when we found Hardys Bar! The bar itself was nice and still had some Christmas decorations up! I noticed the bistro part had an open fire and was really cosy but I wasn't sure if we're able to sit there because we were only ordering drinks. The bar had a great selection of drinks and shots which explained the sore head the next day. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant but the food that was being delivered to other tables looked delicious!
