I was working on a home project, putting a ceiling fan into a location without a light. Needed a…read morebox for a retrofit installation. Not wanting to tear out drywall I wanted a fan box that laps onto the joist. My go to is usually Lowes. While picking up the box I grab some other supplies. I was not able to find what I was looking for. Lowes now has sparsely located some buttons to call for help. Help arrive after a bit of a wait. The associate was "ambushed" by three people as I watched down the aisle. He was polite and very helpful. We found the only box in a box and I was on way. In the parking I decide to open the box to see if it were complete. The box was only usable on the edge of a 2X but my joists have a 3x facing down. The box won't fit. So I went back to customer service and exchanged the box in a box for my $5.68 back. I headed off to Home Depot who had the correct Universal box. Lowe's selection for home retrofit projects is getting limited.

The current manager, however, is a jerk! Chris A. lacks social skills when it comes to customer service; and, he seems to "bully" his employees in the way he talks to them. He doesn't seem to know his own job very well, to the extent of having to ask the Assistant Mgr. about the computer, what they had in stock, where to find an item, etc... The Asst. Mgr. and the employees seem to have to "work around" him to deliver the customer service that they have been known for!

I submitted the email with all the requested information on May 2nd. I contacted Haynes Brothers to confirm they got the email. I was told the email was received and they would need to work to get the window information from their system. It's been roughly 4 weeks later and no further contact from Haynes Brothers. I called back today and there was obviously no follow-up or follow through. Why can't they call back and just tell me they do not want the business vs ghosting me. I am back to waiting for another "call-back".

I walked around the store for a bit. Every aisle had a sign on the top of where things could be located. It was kind of like walking in a grocery store. I really liked that because I felt it looked really organized. I went to stand in line at the front, and the man that worked there just approached me to ask if he could help. I asked for the product I needed, and he even walked me to the aisle it was in. It wasn't there in the aisle, so he told me he would go to the back and look for it. Sure enough, he brought out a big box of them, and handed me what I needed, and also took the rest to stock them up in the aisle. He was also the one that checked us out. Nope, you will not find name brand anything in this store. No DeWalt, Stanley or any of the like. Here you will only find HFT branded items, or companies you've never heard of. Think slow boat China. While the smells of rubber and plastic are beyond overwhelming, this store is well-lit and always clean. I have not asked for assistance, but the staff have been friendly when I'm interacting with them at check-out. So you ask, "Why have they been awarded a fourth star?". The coupons! Some areas of Middle Tennessee already include Harbor Freight coupons in their mailers. If you're not currently receiving them, you can sign up in store...and yes, it's worth it. For example, I needed to purchase a tarp. I had a HFT coupon for a FREE tarp with ANY purchase. (And yes, they do mean ANY.) Less than three dollars later, I had TWO tarps. They're not the fanciest of tarps, but they're doing a great job of keeping the rain off of the items I needed to protect outside. Boom on a budget! Some of their coupons do not require a purchase at all! (For real.) Stop in and walk through at least once...just bring some nose plugs.
