Christie's is about as good as it gets when searching for antiques. The owner seems to run the shop…read moreherself - I've never seen anyone else working in here. As such the hours are a bit limited. Really I wouldn't want to talk to anyone else though. This woman knows here stuff. I've browsed the store a time or two and you can really get lost in here. Even if you don't end up buying anything, it's certainly an experience. I see lots of potential for gift shopping here. Prices aren't the best as I imagine many of the items could be purchased online or at a shop more off the beaten path for less. On the flip side of that, the owner will give you a history lesson on practically any item. She is constantly perusing the internet for values with antiques websites and ebay forever open on her computer. It's great that the store isn't limited to a few types of antiques of one particular genre. There's furniture and décor throughout. Old tools, kitchen wares, wooden boxes, music boxes, old-timey pictures and lots of jewelry ranging from costume to gem encrusted gold. Again, if you know someone who likes antiques with a birthday coming up you will easily find something worth buying here.

Everything here is basically handmade or painted, so it's unique and you won't walk into your neighbors house and find the same setup as the chain retail furniture places. I wasn't sure if I could haggle so I just found something sighing my price range. This place is so cozy it's like each section is a part of your home and you could totally see every single piece in your House. That's amazing. I've lived two minutes a way for 13 years and never took to patronizing the shops on Main more than once. Mainly because I assumed it was out of my price range. But guess what...it isn't and you get what you pay for. And quality costs and here I wouldn't mind. Definitely will return for more goodies. Oh and the sales lady was nice and inviting and very help

There were a couple of ladies circled in the back of the store engaged in conversation. Aside from this intimate circle, no one else was in the store. Also, it is a small store, so you absolutely can see when someone comes in. The cold shoulder led me to leave the store, and visit Kiki's Kottage (which is only a few doors down) where I was promptly and warmly greeted. Kiki's has beautiful pieces, and I purchased a gorgeous buffet there. I had a stellar customer service experience from start to finish at Kiki's. I was prepared to purchase items at Madison's, but too bad no one cared to acknowledge me as a customer whatsoever.

This is one of the recommended gift shops that came up on a list of must-dos in NoDa if you're…read morevisiting. Located near some other unique gift shops and a spiritual wellness shop, this location specializes in local art and craft goods from the NC area that make for a unique assortment of gifts. The owner welcomed us and was friendly, offering to answer any questions we may have. For the most part I perused the shop and read some of the small placards sharing more information on the artist/creator and their work. I like that these were present near the artist/creator's work as it was fun to read more about them and their inspirations. Prices were a broad range to suit all budgets. While nothing caught my eye, I would consider coming back here if I was shopping for a unique gift.
