Located near some other unique gift shops and a spiritual wellness shop, this location specializes in local art and craft goods from the NC area that make for a unique assortment of gifts. The owner welcomed us and was friendly, offering to answer any questions we may have. For the most part I perused the shop and read some of the small placards sharing more information on the artist/creator and their work. I like that these were present near the artist/creator's work as it was fun to read more about them and their inspirations. Prices were a broad range to suit all budgets. While nothing caught my eye, I would consider coming back here if I was shopping for a unique gift. read more

I love Ruby's Gift. I always find myself browsing through this shop about once a week looking around. They have really great local art and its very affordable. I love that they carry a wide range of artists with very different styles. Ruby's has jewelry, candles, plants, paintings, shirts, etc. You can find something for anyone here. It is a great spot for some "Charlotte- specific" items as well like paintings of the city or shirts related to the city. Highly recommend stopping by to look around! Laura at Ruby's Gift made our night. After my two daughters (both under age 7) went around the shop admiring all the local art and handmade jewelry... begging mama for everything Laura kindly offered them two beautiful butterfly stickers as gifts from the shop and they were overjoyed. So was I the small act of kindness totally embodies what this shop filled with "happy local art" exists for - bringing lovely gifts from the heart to people you love. Cannot say enough good about this place. You can find something for every creative spirit in your life! My personal favorite gift is the clay earring sets. Each one is prettier than the next. Fitting in perfectly with the NoDa vibe is this cute boutique featuring an eclectic array of different art pieces ranging from Canvas, digital prints, postcards, and much more. First time in here was more or less on a whim after eating lunch at Sabor. What caught my eye was a David French original in the window. David is a local Charlotte artist that regularly sets up his booth for Speed Street, and community events around the NoDa/ Plaza Midwood area. Not only did I grab a few prints of his, but they also have a whole wall of Scott Partridge, another well known charlotte artist! Was able to find gifts for three people on my list and a few more pieces that caught my eye for my own house. This place sure is easy to miss even after countless trips down N. Davidson but now that I've seen the vast selection of quality, local art, I'll be a regular for sure! read more

We ventured to NoDa during a recent visit and found Ruby's. We loved the local flavor. The art. The jewelry. Really everything in the store was awesome. Reasonably priced. A great variety and the young lady working on that day was great. Try friendly and helpful. I bought a pair of earrings and love them. One of the few local shops in this area. A great place to go when you want something special but aren't sure what it is! Ruby's supports all local artists, and each display has a bit of a backstory. It's magical, a bit like going down the rabbit hole, in a good way. They're always discovering a new leatherworker with a gift for color, or a designer with dark, lovely pieces. Another great thing about Ruby's is they regularly host artist talks and mini-classes, for free. Just another way they show support for the community. They don't just talk the talk. Such a lovely store! If you seek any type of gifty item or just a little something for yourself, Ruby's Gift is a great stop. It's a delightful smorgasbord of goodies - locally made jewelry, paintings, a smattering of kids items, photos, candles and more. This is one of those stores that I'd end up spending a lot of time (and money) just walking about checking out the merchandise. I really appreciate that Ruby's features a large number of Charlotte based artists. Some of my favorite items include Murphy jewelry and the awesome leather cuffs near the back. There was one with a watch built into the cuff - incredibly cool. Price points range pretty vastly, so you're sure to find something in your budget. I appreciate places that feature local artists and their work. Ruby's did a great job of highlighting each of the artists work, style, and pricing seemed fair. I only had about 20 minutes to look around, but in that time I picked up a few great pieces for my wife (who loved the jewelry) and had a lovely conversation with the lady behind the counter. The gift wrapping was beautiful and overall this was a solid 5-star experience for me. read more

Super sweet and eclectic shop. There is so much local and regional arts and crafts packed under one roof. I wanted to buy all the jewelry and leather goods. The shop was well organized and clean. This is a nice little store and worth your time to visit and revisit especially during gift-giving season. It's like a jumble sale made up entirely of items from local artists, with prices ranging from reasonable for a little gift up to "whoa, never mind". It definitely takes a little time to walk in here and let your eyeballs adjust to pick out what's cool, and it's a bit unpredictable. It got me out of a rut of giving the same kind of gift all the time. I like the aspect of shopping local, too, and being able to pick up something that is not the same as what you'd find in any other town. read more

A truly adorable shop! The staff here was very friendly and they have a ton to look at so take your time ! This is the place to go if you're looking for unique gifts. They have everything from handmade candles to monkey sock hats (yes even those!) Prices are a bit higher but you pay for the craftsmanship not for mass production. read more
