Tuesday: Dropped in twice…read moreto get a sharpened mower blade I pre-paid for.. it was busy at the pro- counter( only one guy there working with the line) so came back laster.. 2nd time back- got the blade & some chrome polish that rang up 3 bucks more than what was advertised on the shelf. I didnt notice until walking to the car. I waited in line for a $3 credit to my CC. Today, sent my house mate up to get a can of starter fluid to help get the mower running. She came back with a can of Gumout without the straw. She was told didnt need the straw - really ? A hardware associate thinks starter fluid does need the straw ? ROFL. That was the whole reason sending her up there.. if I needed to search out a straw I would have used the half can of starter fluid I already had........ she went back to return and it was a PITA so she just split. Ya'll need to get it together........... Mayfield use to be consistently top notch and now?,,,,,,,,,,, it's hit or miss and lately..........miss. I'm writing this to give constructive feedback not to dog you all......... I want you to succeed because I like the store........until lately.

Rutledge Hardware has been in continuous operation since 1891 in downtown Rutledge. It has all of its original fixtures, rolling ladders from floor to ceiling, even some of its original inventory! Only the fourth owner of record, local resident Paul Jones grew up shopping in this store that he now owns and operates. The 100 year old Rutledge Hardware store also is home to his custom furniture workshop. Spring time is the best time of year as Rutledge Hardware is about the only place around where you can buy seed potatoes and bulk garden seed, weighed up by hand the old fashioned way! Paul sells you as much or as little garden seed as you want along with beautiful garden plants he cares for daily and keeps fresh for you to plant. He sells flowering plants, vegetable plants, onion sets, seed potatoes, you name what you want for your garden and chances are he will have it right there for you! Paul builds 18th Century Furniture Reproductions in the back warehouse area when he isn't waiting on customers up front or visiting with them outside. Rutledge is a short drive out East from Atlanta along the Antebellum trail that follows I-20. If you are ever in the area, we can assure you it is worth the trip!

For gardening, paint, lumber, building supplies, small engine, power equipment, and plants they have it. In the summer, my youngest especially loves the fairy garden accessories which are displayed very well on the side deck. She always manages to get something for her fairy garden when we visit. We also love the brick floor, the historic tools hanging on the walls and from the ceiling, hoop cheese in fall, and glass Coca-Colas.
