Thank you for your response. To be fair, you are correct regarding the final dollar amount. The bill was approximately $894.69, plus an additional $109 charge, which was partially negotiated. My original estimate, however, was around $600, so the significant increase was difficult for me, especially as a senior on a fixed income.
The repairs were completed in August 2024, and while some work was done, the blades were not completed at that time. From that point forward, I continued to experience starting problems with the mower. As recently as today (July 28, 2026), I have replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter again and had the blades sharpened.
My review was not intended to exaggerate or misrepresent the facts. It reflected my disappointment with the overall experience. Although I was unhappy with the outcome, I was never disrespectful or rude to anyone. I simply expected the mower to perform properly after spending nearly $900 on repairs.
I gave the shop the benefit of the doubt and was willing to return for future service. However, when I was told, "We don't want to work on that mower," I felt dismissed as a customer. Whether we agreed about the repairs or not, that response left a negative impression and played a large role in my rating.
I appreciate the work that was done and want to be fair in my assessment. My concern is not about assigning blame, but about the gap between the original estimate and final cost, the ongoing issues I experienced afterward, and the feeling that my concerns were no longer welcome. read more
