I passed by so many times it's about time I check it out with one of my rugrats. I was kinda expecting more baked goods but we got a cookie to try and it was sooo good I won't hold it against them for not having more baked goodies, for they do have a lot of different kinds of bread as well and that counts as baked goods. My kiddo picked a root beer and bag of chips but he ended up drinking two thirds of my bottle of blueberry oat milk - yes, it was soooo goood! They've a lot of frozen entrees you can take home to save some time from cooking from frozen soups to quiches. And oh! Fresh vegetables!!! Still going out and about so I don't want the veg to sweat in my car but next time I'm bringing my veggie basket!

I really love this shop. I'm always excited to see what's been delivered by the local farmers. Today was fresh strawberries, some varieties of lettuce. There were apples to pick from and some herb plants for $1.00. One fun find that wasn't there before... Churn ice cream sandwiches!!! Yup Churn as in the Churn that goes with Lloyds! That was a really fun find. It always makes me feel like a score when something new makes its way into the shop. The other thing I always look forward to is what is available in the baked goods case. That can be devastating or ecstasy! Today it was a little of both. None of my beloved cinnamon rolls were left by 1:00. But I suppose if you aren't one of those darn early birds and actually Lallygag on a Saturday morning ,some other early bird who doesn't like to sleep will get your cinnamon roll!! But there were Butter blocks pop tarts! And some new strawberry mini loafs along with mocha scones. The mocha scones were very good! Like coffee and chocolate scone all in one. So the only thing that is difficult about shopping here is that you can never count on going back and getting something you really like. They started making a delicious spring egg salad that was so refreshing and wonderful that I truly wanted to get it again and again. Heck I don't care if you rename it summer egg salad or fall or even winter egg salad. Unfortunately you just can't count on finding something regularly or even more than a couple of times. That's the only reason I took a star off , simple disappointment. I do understand the chef is creative and there are often new things, but there are often things that seem to be staple items. Having said that I still love Farmers and Artisans and will continue to be there looking for regular treasures and new treasures!!

Indoor farmers market, bakery, prepared deli & salads...this is a nice fresh place to visit for quick lunch or for some delectable local farm fresh gourmet items. Great coffees, kombucha, baked goods, pre-packaged salads, etc. Friendly service, casual vibe.

    I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE. I stumbled in one evening after a trip to my favorite restaurant, hoping to check out what the place was all about. There was some type of private event going on, it seemed, but the owner welcomed me in and let me know I was free to shop (I realized later that I had appeared only 2 minutes before closing time - so that was nice of her!). Local produce? Local grass-finished beef? Local candies, sauces, spreads, gifts, baked goods... everything? Everything in here is local and there's enough to put out an impressive localvore spread. I made off with some Paleo-friendly goodies from various WNY based producers, and was able to have a nice conversation with the store's beef provider (Plato Dale Farm). So glad to have it in the neighborhood, and I will for sure be back!

Do drop in. Such a perfect and beautiful little market/bakery. Nearly EVERYTHING is local, and they have the best of the best. I took a look at their website after stopping in, fabulous. They have a full list of the farmers and artisans and what product they carry from each. I love it! You will find local produce, dairy, brews, coffee, chocolate, dog treats, soap, and much more. I love the concept of buying shares of fruit, vegetables, and soup. See their website for info on this. The staff were very accommodating and friendly as well. I was thrilled to pick up some McKenzies Hard Black Cherry Cider and some locally made garlic toasted onion fettucine while there. I will definitely drop in again anytime I am in the area. What a great way to shop a diverse selection of local products.

True, not a lot is in season right now, but I couldn't find staples like cabbage, bell peppers, etc. I saw spinach, radishes, some summer squashes, asparagus, lettuce and beets. Everything mostly from just one seller. The strawberries definitely looked gorgeous at the stand where I bought a dozen eggs. This guy also had asparagus, leafy greens, garlic scapes, and honey. I noticed that the honey came from Fredonia, New York. Anyway, the last time I bought colorful eggs was at the North Tonawanda City Market. All of them were stinky bad. I felt scammed. This time I took a chance, still remembering my unfortunate purchase. I'm telling you, these eggs are super tasty. I'm an egg snob, so I know:). Some day, I'm definitely going back for more. What else did I see? There was coffee available and some snacks. Orso Nero Pizza Truck. 12 Flat Mushrooms. Flowers. Meat. Bagels. Wine. Anastasia's Bakery, and more 'artisan' kind of stuff I don't remember right now. The sourdough bread from The Heritage Kitchen At Plato Dale Farm, looked really good. I'm glad I purchased one of their loaves. It's made with whole wheat flour so it's a bit more dense, but the taste and overall product is decent. I just wonder whether any of the sourdough starters in my fridge are still usable. Baking bread takes time and care. It was money well spent. So, I brought home just bread and eggs, the perfect combination. A soft-boiled egg with toasted bread and butter for breakfast is one of the simple pleasures in this world.

The mix of vendors is pretty good, and the prices are fair too. I've been about 4 times this season and it seems that there are a few staple vendors every week and a few visiting vendors. The weekly vendors: - Lloyd's food truck - a coffee place selling bagged coffee and serving hot or iced coffee (the iced coffee is VERY good!) - three baked good places (a vegan bread/roll place, another bread place, and an cookie/treat place that has AMAZING trail mix cookies!). - Hanzillans sausage - their chicken Polish sausage is very tasty! - Amherst compost station - Williamsville CSA - a seafood stand - Becker farms wine There was also a guy playing a guitar and a few stands selling flowers, produce, and plants. This week there were stands selling cherries, berries, apples, herbs, onions, zucchini, kohlrabi, and other greens. Parking - there's a public parking lot adjacent to the market, but it's been full almost every time I've gone. Save time and park on Main street between Cayuga and the market (free). Highly recommend if you're in the area!

I met a chef, Chef Scott Bernard. (Instagram goodneighborflavor) He has a stand with balavka, original and brown sugar cinnamon. They both were tasty, the brown sugar cinnamon was my favorite. He was very friendly. He told me he does catering, and four course private dinners, as well as opening a Bistro in Cheektowaga coming soon. I love going and meeting new vendors. It's okay. I am disappointed that vendors are not required to grow their own produce - which is…read moreclear when I see lemons with grocery store stickers and plastic containers of Driscoll's berries. Some vendors have "homegrown" signs, but many don't. What's the point of going to a farmers market and buying out-of-state produce? Some vendors have clear signage with prices, but not everyone - which makes it very time-consuming to ask lots of pricing questions if you shop on a limited budget and stressful if you don't like holding up the line. Many farmers also seem to grow very similar items. I rarely or never see things like okra, peppers other than bells, radicchio, tomatillos, purple carrots, etc. I'd love to see more variety! What do I need to do to get a decent head of radicchio around here? Most vendors only accept cash; some are starting to take Venmo now but only a few seem to accept credit cards. I wouldn't mind this except there is no signage so you have to wait in line and get someone's attention to ask at EVERY stand even before picking out veggies if you don't carry cash. There is an ATM on-site but of course it charges fees. There is very little shade and no areas to sit and rest. The one covered area is always very tightly packed with people and it is hard to walk through; I don't understand how anybody shops at the vendor tables in there. The parking lot is small, very tight, and a challenge to get into and out of - and people frequently just stop vehicles in the middle of the road and block you in. It's easiest to park along the side streets in the neighborhood - but plan ahead and bring a rolling cart to carry stuff back to the car. Finally, the market is technically year-round and happens on multiple days, but be aware that if you go during the off-season or on a Thursday that there are significantly fewer vendors and your selection will be very small. Maybe not even worth the drive depending on where you're coming from. I get it, being a vendor is hard work - I have worked at farmers markets myself - but it's something to be aware of ahead of time to set expectations so you aren't disappointed. Summary: This is one of the most stressful and least rewarding markets I've been to. I go when I want to get a huge quantity of tomatoes or apples, and otherwise avoid this one in favor of the smaller markets that require their farmers to actually grow what they sell.

It is pretty much always crowded, so be prepared to stand in lines at most of the vendor booths. The lines actually feel like a plus to me, since it is well organized and clear to know who is next. Some markets feel more like a free-for-all of whoever is loudest and this way is far more comfortable for a person with social anxiety. Of course it's crowded because everything here is high quality and sold at peak freshness. There are fruits, veggies, prepared foods, canned foods, flowers, and in the late spring / early summer you'll find seedlings for home gardens. Prices aren't low but it is important to support our local food infrastructure and the flavors are outstanding. I have talked with a lot of the farmers and vendors and every one has been friendly and helpful. Most vendors I shop with here accept credit cards. They're also keeping six feet apart and requiring all visitors to wear a mask. Now, don't fret if you forgot yours. Just pull your shirt over your face and quickly buy one of their fabric masks for sale at the entrance. Sometimes there will be disposable gloves at the entrance as well, but I didn't notice any today. Be sure to wash what you buy, as not everything comes in plastic and people don't always buy what their germs touch. Pro-tip, bring something, or someone, to carry all your goodies with you as you shop. Much like the farmers market there aren't baskets or buggies to tote your things around. I've been offered a box before by a nice chap that works there, but on the chance it's his day off, best not to risk dropping your mound of goods. I'll be honest. I tend to breeze past a good bit of the first wall when I enter the cooler, as I am a wuss when I comes to trying new veggies like swiss chard and parsnips. But then you turn around and there is what I think of as Hector's Heaven, with cheap varieties of lettuce and carrots that'll please my bunny until he's fat. It's over half off the price that's across the street at Tops. They've got fruits for me, as I am a fruit fanatic, and carts of dairy too. This week there were massive bins of 50 cent per pound apples that I dug into. In the other room there was also a sale on taters where there had previously been bell peppers. They'd been 3 for a dollar before, and fueled my bunny's addiction. Thankfully they're still priced pretty low, as my spoiled boy and I want to eat like royalty. Really healthy royalty. They've got other goodies too, like honey and maple syrup. There is only so much room in my backpack and I have to practice self restraint as I lay my findings on the counter. I'm left with change to spare and skedaddle before I can convince myself to just carry more in my hands. Because when it comes down to it, produce does rot. Besides, they're open six days a week, so I can stop back for more. Hector gives this place 5 paws up. (Well, four paws and one of my hands, but he tried.)
