The staff is so nice, Nancy, Tracy and Debbie are wonderful. The only negative is the cost. We are paying $870 a month for a 30amp site! Yikes, I paid $900 in Malibu, CA on the ocean with 50amp and I thought that was high. Nevertheless, you have this beautiful lake and there is a awesome little eatery called Creem on the Creek and they make corn dogs, hamburgers and even pizza! And its relatively inexpensive. It would be totally awesome if they could figure out a way to make deliverys to your RV that would be fantastic!

Though they advertise as a place that offers month to month business, my husband and I were offering them a guaranteed month to month business for a good bit of time while working in the area, however long they would work with us on, bouncing to another place if we exceeded their desired amount of time, and both people we spoke with - a woman one day and a man named Justin another, were very rude and "uppity/snooty". We have a 2023 Primetime Sanibel Widebody 5th wheel, 43 feet in length, very nice condition, and are two professional people (my husband an Operations Manager for a billboard company and I a Bid/Dept Manager for a Food Distributor, with a combined income of over $175k per year) and their response was "we wouldn't be a good fit" after we spoke with them guaranteeing we would abide by their strict rules. When we mentioned we may once in a blue moon babysit our grandkids while there, before I even finished my sentence, we were given a very terse response which was a strong indicator they do not want kids there. Obviously not family friendly. They mentioned not wanting "trashy trailers" and "trailer trash" type people in their campground - of which we aren't, but wow, the judgement - and that they currently have some campers they are "trying to be rid of", so camp with ease or expect to be thrown out. They want only new campers there, and royalty. I guess if you take a stab at them you'll have to see if you meet their high standards or contrarily meet their definition of "trailer trash". Beware, if your camper, though well maintianed yet only a 2021 model, you're trailer trash. Again, very picky, very high standards, strict rules, unbending, uppity, and just rude with a "holier than though" attitude. Apparently not very interested in keeping their business running either. We drove through the park on 4/20/26 and over half their campsites were empty. I wonder why. Yet, they turn down guaranteed month to month business for a time we were willing to allow them to designate. We will gladly take our business elsewhere to a much friendlier staff at a nicer, more secure campground nearby we have recently learned of - where we won't have to listen to trains pass behind us all day, and can watch kids be kids and play. Sad thing is, we've given them our business before while in Columbus, but never will again, and will tell all we know of a large group of campers we are affiliated with of their rude, snooty ways. Traveling through the area? I'd recommend staying elsewhere. Corps of Engineer parks on nearby West Point Lake (Amity, Shaefer Hard, Holiday, and WhiteTail Ridge), a campground on nearby Lake Harding (Blanton Creek), two near Fort Benning (one GA side - Camp David, the other AL side), one in Fort Benning (Uchee Creek), a KOA in nearby Americus, Ga and Auburn RV Resort in nearby Auburn, AL to name just a few. That is, unless you like to hobknob with the snooty folk.

Food was delicious- hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, fresh fish. The lake reminds me of Lake Lanier just a lot larger . The "beach" area is nice - plenty of picnic tables, docks, pravillions , and parking. The only thing missing is "white sand" This lake is roughly 1.5 hrs from Atlanta. If you're looking for "beach" vibes , this is a good place. Tybee Island is 3hrs away and Lake Lanier 2hrs.

She listened to what i told her about the incident, and then said she had already been told by the person at the Campground what happened. Basically she said that it was policy and there were no exceptions, and explained people can cheat the system. Seems it would be hard to beat the system when you produced the card. It seems that if the card was not produced within a courtesy period then you have a problem, but it is extremely plain CUSTOMER SERIVCE or just Plain Common sense is not in their policy. They obviously consider it is a privilege you pay for to stay at the camp and that you will be monitored to make sure you obey the rules, better brush up and take a test or face the consequences. Anyway it was obvious Susan had already made up her mind before I ever called and she was 100% behind her Camp Nazi. She also told me they contacted her and she directed them to call the Sheriff. Wow, I am still in disbelief of what happened, but upon reflection it is just another government office with people that have no risk of consequence for their actions. Customer Service and Common Sense with. These people is an Oxymoron anyway. So Campers Beware the people that run Holiday could care less about the campers. We have been staying at Holiday for several years. We love the lake and the views and it is close enough we can bring our boat along. My wife pulls the boat and I pull the trailer. This time my wife was about 30 minutes behind me dropping off our dogs. It all started at the gate. I was informed even though we had paid way in advance and I had my drivers license I had to have the Georgia State Parks card to show. Nowhere in the website does it mention it has to be presented at checkin. You use it when you make your reservation online which we did. The card is registered to me. It's not like we used another name. I showed her my License and explained my wife was just a few minutes behind me. Well that was not good enough, she wanted me to pull over and wait until my wife got there that's a little petty don't you think. Anyway I had been driving for a good while and needed to go to the bathroom. I pulled to the bathhouse and when I came out I called my wife she was like just a few minutes away. So I went to our lot and pulled in. I had not even got totally unhooked when my wife called and said the woman had called the Troup County Sheriff on us, now 2 patrol cars pull up with the woman in tow after my wife just showed them the card, but that was not good enough we were told we broke the rules. The man at the window closed it on my wife, what an ass. Keep in mind only 30 or 40 minutes have gone by. I was floored that they called the sheriff with 2 patrol cars, i must be a 63 year old hoodlum. Needless to say I was livid and gave her a piece of my mind. The officers you could tell thought it was BS. We spoke after the Campground Nazi left and they could not understand why it was such a big deal. We had friends that came down with thier camper that we had planned this trip with. My friend witnessed the whole thing and could not believe the absurdity of it. Needless to say my wife was extremely upset with the rudeness it's like they enjoy some kind of sick power trip. Needless to say this ruined our trip and we just left. Reading past reviews it seems the only issues people have is with staff. One last thing we have been camping for many years and campers are the best people ever. This is the only campground we have ever had issue with that caused us to be upset. In fact we had a run in with I believe this same woman on a trip a couple of years ago. Anyway I am going to be calling the office tomorrow to file a complaint.

Mr. & Mrs. Hatcher were friendly and genuinely concerned for our safety, making us feel right at home. This was definitely one of the nicest campgrounds we've been to, with all the hookups. Though we didn't, you can actually look through all the campsite photos on their website before choosing which one you want, which is awesome. They don't sell firewood, but Mr. Hatcher said we were welcome to pick up dead branches we found, which some places don't allow, and there was plenty of wood! We do have an axe, which was very helpful. Bluff Creek Campground is the perfect inexpensive place to stay and we wish we'd stayed longer!

We arrived at 6:30pm, which was after dark, and were told we couldn't camp because he had locked the gate. Luckily, we paid, and were then calling the phone number to get the code, when someone who was camping pulled up behind us and put the code in for us. The small road bridge leading from the main land to the island was a little scary for me. Good thing there wasn't a car coming the other way, or I would have freaked out even more. This land is wonderful. I could see the appeal to kayak, fish, or have a picnic here, or even camp here. We stopped at the bathrooms first, and they are clean and provide running water. On our drive to the town of Spectre, we ran into the goats. We were driving down the road and all of the goats were coming at us. We put the car in park and enjoyed the goats. One goat even jumped up on my door to say hello. They are fabulous and very friendly. When we exited the vehicle at the Spectre movie set, a super friendly goat was charging at me, I immediately went into the car and the goat approached my boyfriend. All the goat wanted was some pets. And that's what he got. They are like large dogs. There are swing benches around the lake and it is nice to sit and enjoy the scenery. Watch out for goat poop. That is the only bad thing. The goats keep the island well manicured and provide the best entertainment and are adorable.

This is a quiet little park, nice for sitting back and relaxing. It does have bath houses and a…read morecommunity center, but no cable TV or Internet. It does get about 24 over the air TV stations most of which are part of APT. There is a pretty lake on the property for guest fishing, but we didn't fish on this trip. He let me stay for as long as I wanted and even helped me get into my popup camper when I had forgotten the keys at home in the rush to evacuate. The spot I got had full hookups with no issues. We have seen deer feeding on the grounds everyday so far. Mike only deals in cash or checks so don't forget to bring some.
