It's a bit out of the city center which is refreshing, but it's also conveniently a quick walk from multiple metro/tram stops. The drinks are reasonably priced and the place is stocked with plenty of appetizers (mostly vegetarian). This place does get pretty busy, but the staff are pretty efficient with drink orders. I wouldn't expect the most out of the food, but if you're looking to relax, enjoy a drink, and grab a bite of food, this is the spot!

And while I was visiting Milan for only a week, Fonderie Milanesi was hands down the best appertivo place of the trip. The food was laid out buffet style and can out as one large, fresh batch at 7pm when it opens. You can email for reservations, which I did for a large group to ensure space for my group of 8. I would highly recommend this or to go early because this place fills up very quickly. While the food was top notch for appertivo, I rated this 4 stars because the service was not great. I can't tell if it was because we were in located in the back but it was near impossible to order any drinks from the staff and we had to go to the front bar to order more. Ambiance - warmly lit, bustling bar that's great for large groups and relaxing for a drink after a day of work or school. Adorned with Edison industrial bulbs across the outdoor patio

Drinks were €6 instead of the normal €10. €26 for drinks and food.

Whether you're meeting friends or just spending some quality time with yourself, Café Trussardi,…read morelocated in the centre of Milan near the Teatro all Scalla, offers hospitality and relaxation in an elegant setting, complete with cocktails and caviar that are out of this world! While killing time between walking the beautiful streets of Milan, I wanted to treat myself to a small snack and a drink (or two). I was impressed by the modern design, with crisp angles around every corner and natural, clean colors. From the moment I entered I felt a sense of calm, and the server greeted me and showed me to a comfortable seat along the bar. The list of cocktails was very diverse, and the drinks menu reflected the upscale atmosphere. I decided to start with a cocktail called Beer Americano, a mix of bitter Campari, red Vermouth, and white beer, topped with the zest of a fresh orange. This was a uniquely refreshing cocktail, as the citrus notes really picked up on the herbal flavors of the Campari. I chose to indulge in Trussardi Calvisius caviar, an excellent choice to match the flavors of my cocktail. This is seriously the best caviar I have ever eaten, fresh, a notch salty, but delicate and delicious. After my Beer Americano, I knew I had to try at least one more cocktail on the list, and ordered the Apple Tru, crafted with Calvados, cinnamon, apple, ginger and BBB bitters. Perfect for fall. I'll definitely be returning to try more cocktails!

Since it was early in our trip, I did not mind eating pasta. My friend ordered a pumpkin soup with bacon and scallops which she really enjoyed. The person serving us was polite and helpful. She let my friend try several different wines before she decided on what to drink. Our overall experience went from being skeptical as we walked in to this place to being satisfied as we walked out.

As I mentioned we didn't get food because of a reservation but were pretty confused that "happy hour" was more expensive than not-HH.
