Super big thank you to Bobbie at Bob's for the great one on one attention given to my two dogs! I also appreciate immensely how accommodating Bobbie was with my uncertain travel schedule. 100% will use this service again. Two happy dogs - Bentley and Bleau are now at home dreaming about their "vacation" (deep sleeping and feets running). Thank you!

HOW did that happen in 10 minutes? Apparently they put my dog in a small room with a vet and another dog and they said he didn't do well...of course not! He doesn't know any of you and was scared! I immediately went to find another company and found Animal Friends. I told them of this situation and they said to bring my dog down to meet them, he did fine as I expected and my dog has now been happily boarded for 2.5 years. I travel extensively and appreciate that it's a family owned business that actually cares about my dog. They know I travel and accomodate me too because some nights I come in late and picking up the next day is better for me. If you are looking for a great dog boarding company that will treat you and your dog like family, I totally recommend Animal Friends.

They have cameras in every room so you can always see what your pup is up to. They start with a slow introduction with dogs, slowly increasing the number in a room to ensure your dog is okay and not overwhelmed. They have a website for easy online booking or an app as well! I love the app as I waste away my afternoons watching the cameras to see her play! Staff has always been so great and my dog LOVES it here!! When you board, you can specify when and how much your dog eats. You can add on services such as one on one interaction time, snuggle, grooming, nail trim, etc! On your first day, you get a welcome packet and photos of their first day! Minnie and me love it here!

During the summer, spring, and fall she is a-okay because she's walked every single day - but when the walks are shorten because it's 10° we all know what happens. Cue: doggie daycare consideration. They seemed a little understaffed, but hey that's the new normal with COVID. What I can tell you is they average about three dollars an hour with me to take care of my puppy... the same price I'd pay a neighbor kid to walk them - but I get 8-10 HOURS of puppy free time. ... AND puppy is usually completely spent for 10-15 hours after I get her back. She knows exactly what / where Camp BW is and loses her stuff every time we pull up. So - for me five stars. Will update if I get wonky salon services. But for the most part the staff is courteous enough - the hours are right - and it seems to be priced okay. For now I will keep recommending (and budgeting for) CBW for my sanity in our cold MN winter months.

Anyway, we just moved to Minnesota and tried P-K Pet Resort & Spa for the first time this past weekend. Since we don't know anyone here yet, we didn't have a backup plan if things went wrong--and our pets are truly our children--so their safety and happiness were our top priorities. From the moment we arrived, I was impressed. I was invited to tour the facility and was pleasantly surprised by how clean and quiet it was. At most boarding and daycare places, you hear lots of barking and commotion, but not here. Instead, there was soothing music, TVs for visual stimulation, and every dog I saw looked happy--wagging tails, relaxing on their beds, or enjoying their private patios. We've always boarded our pups together because one of them, Newt, has separation anxiety when she's not with her brother, Samson. The staff took my concerns seriously, asking about food aggression and making sure safety came first, but they also respected my knowledge of my dogs. We agreed that if there was any problem, they'd be separated. I appreciated that balance of caution and flexibility. Our dogs got cuddle time, outside play time, and their own outdoor patio space. We also loved having access to a live camera feed--Samson especially enjoyed the patio! On top of that, we received thoughtful updates letting us know the dogs were doing well, eating, and showing no aggression, so they got to stay together. They even joked, asking if we brought the right dogs since I had been so worried beforehand. Overall, P-K went above and beyond to make us (and our pups) feel comfortable. We felt reassured, supported, and most importantly, we could see how happy our dogs were. We'll definitely be coming back.

It was heartbreaking. The staff were spectacular and they wouldn't give up. Kept giving him fresh food, talking to him. Finally broke the ice with a lick mat covered in whipped cream. They sent a picture, he had one side eye on Alex while he licked. Between the live feed, emails, and phone calls, we were able to check on his progress. What a wonderful experience. We were only going to be gone for a few days, so it was reassuring to see his progress. Once he started eating we knew everything was going to be okay. Just a great experience, much more than a business, a real service provider.

Your pups will not be in a cold chain link kennel like other boarding facilities. Our dog had a great time and received the loving care we were looking for when boarding our dog. I am extremely saddened to tell you all that our 6 year old, healthy miniature Australian Shepherd…read moredied in the care of Countryside Animal Hospital and Kennels on Saturday, 8/19/18. She had been there less than 24 hours when they called to tell me they found her dead in an outside lot. The vet suggested that perhaps she had an undiagnosed condition, but if that were the case, he is the one who missed it because he was her vet from the time she was a puppy and she was seen by him regularly. She had never had any serious health concerns. Our dog was athletic and played in our yard every day. When I went to pick up my dog's belongings, I asked to see the place where she died and was shown a dirt lot about 10' x 10' with no shade. I was there at the same time of day when I was told my dog died. There was a large dog turned out in that lot when it was shown to me and he had no water. The bucket, which I presume had been filled with water for the dog, was fairly small for a large dog and probably too tall for a small dog to reach. It was narrow at the bottom and wide at the top and had been knocked over. I saw no evidence of a water stain on the dirt, so can only assume that poor dog had been without water on a hot summer day in full sun for quite a while. I asked the attendant repeatedly to please give the dog some water, but she did not do so while I was there. After seeing the conditions under which dogs are kept at this kennel, I can only conclude that my dog probably died of heatstroke from sun exposure and lack of water. I was also told no one attempted CPR on my dog. I used this kennel because it is run by an animal hospital whom I formerly used as my veterinarian, though I obviously will not be using them going forward. I trusted that they would take good care of my dog while I was away. I had never thought to ask to tour the facility because I assumed -- now I know wrongly -- that they would provide excellent, quality care. When you arrive at the kennel, you can see the nice, large fenced lots that have grass and trees off to the left and that is where I assumed my dog spent her time outside. What you don't see is the small, dirt un-shaded lots they have in the back. If I had known those existed, I never would have left my dog in their care. If you use this kennel, I recommend that you stop immediately. I met with the vet and the kennel manager to advocate for several changes including automatic dog watering dishes that are fixed in place and shade tarps for outside lots with no trees that get full sun. Whether they will implement the changes to avoid having this tragedy happen again, I don't know. Our family is devastated at the loss of our beloved dog. We don't want our precious girl to have died in vain, so I wanted to get the word out to the community in hopes that this does not happen again. I know now that I should tour a place before trusting that the facilities are safe and meet the minimum standard for access to shade and water and I recommend that you do the same.
