We have been bringing our pets here for years! These ladies take such good care of our dog while we are gone!! They are careful to follow our "no grain" diet- as our dog is allergic. she is clean and fed and happy when we bring her home! They are friendly and so easy to work with. I have used castle rock kennels for many years and have NEVER had any kind of problem. My dogs were always well cared for, and were always happy to be dropped off as well as when we picked them up. The ONLY reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because the dogs are on concrete. In the winter I would imagine that is quite cold for them to lay on. We picked up our dog and from what we can tell he had a great time! The owner updated us on what he ate and when and his activities. I am an overprotective puppy mom but they put all my fears to rest. He loved the large fenced in area to run off all his energy! I did not pre-tour the facilities and I wished I had!!! I had booked a week long stay for my two cats. I registered the cats and then the staff showed me where my cats were to be housed. It was a laundry room/supply closet with no windows!!!!! There were 3 cages stacked on top of on another. I was stunned. I had no choice but to leave them as I was leaving in the morning and did not have time to find them alternate care on a Sunday evening. The care was more than disappointing, it was inhumane. Their box they sit in and their blanket was wet with urine. That tells me they fed and watered them and cleaned the litter box but did not check the rest of the cage. One of my cats had health problems and it was not attended to. My cats were frightened and despondent when I returned to pick them. They were traumatized. They cowered in the cage away from me when I walked into the closet to retrieve them. It took a week for them to return to normal. If you have a cat and are considering kenneling here - please don't. The only guarantee you will have is they will be alive when you return. That's it! read more
