Fresh seafood
Lola C.

Little Asian market filled with everything you need. Yes, the ailes are a little crowded, but it's just an opportunity to find new things to try. The produce and seafood are always fresh, so if you need something you can't find anywhere, they probably have it there. On Thursdays and Saturdays after 4 pm, they have fresh Dim Sum that's absolutely delicious. Just take home and steam , and don't forget to get a box of green or jasmin tea to wash it down. Oh, and if you don't have steamer baskets, they also sell those there. I love cooking Asian food, and I get all my ingredients there. And if you're not much of a cook, they also have tons of frozen already prepared goodies.

Good place to find asian ingredients, clean store, friendly staff and they sell more Japanese and Korean ingredients. I see few things that other asian grocery dont carry.

Three Ladies Jasmine Rice. Best Jasmine Rice I've ever had!

Just moved the area about a month ago and finally visited the Asian Market. I wasn't expecting much, but we found boba and our favorite brand of rice. The Three Ladies Jasmine Rice. Omg it's so good. I've only recently learned about it and when we found out we were moving I was scared I wouldn't be able to find it here. And while most groceries here in Alabama is surprisingly more expensive than Southern CA the rice was about the same price (maybe just a touch more) than I would have gotten it in SoCal at a small asian market. Oh they also have thai tea leaves! I just ordered it on Amazon but it is actually cheaper at this market so when we run out I know where to go! It's a nice market. I wish there was more of a noodle selection there but they have a lot of things to cover your basic needs!

A nice frozen selection...I am told a lot of vegans shop here.

I may actually prefer the Madison branch to the Huntsville one. Be that as it may or may not, this nice, clean, bright store is located in Richland Plaza, just a short hop from the forebodingly named Slaughter Road. Visiting here was a pleasant experience made all the more agreeable by the owner's son, Ruowen Zheng, who served as a temporary, impromptu guide, answering all questions, making recommendations, clearing up confusion, and pointing out new and/or favorite items. Every international grocery needs this, but as my grandmother would say, "Wish in one hand..." Far East Madison (it needs its own name; perhaps West Far East?) is a nice, bright market. I am told produce comes in fresh on various days, but apparently a treasure trove arrives on Tuesdays, if the well-stocked aisle, surrounded by recently delivered boxes, is any indication. As you walk in, the register's on the left, the aforementioned produce is dead ahead, and the candy and snacks selection begins on the right. You'll find many of the usual brands, such as Pocky, Hello Panda, and KitKats, stocked next to a load of Mochi. I did find Bali's Best coffee candies, which I love, but also got the chance to try Jack 'n Jill X.O. Classic Coffee Candy: a welcomed change and something new, but I'm sticking with the superior, "creamy" Bali's Best offerings, and am not alone in that feeling. On my first visit, I was gifted with a bag of Hongyuan Hard Candy (Guava), which I'm told is very popular, despite being a somewhat singular flavor. Some of my friends enjoyed it, while others said nothing which, ironically, says a lot. Ruowen tried in vain to sell me on the Cooked, Marinated Eggs, which sat in bags right on the shelf with all those other things that actually have SHELF LIVES, but it was no go. I'm as experimental as the next foodie, but those experiments don't include bringing myself back after flat-lining, no matter how many questions I have for my great-grandparents. He says his mother makes her own version for him at home. It's up to you to determine whether that's an "I Remember Mama" move, or a "Mommy Dearest." You'll note I said the snacks "begin" here, because there's another aisle with even more Cookies, Wafers, and Crackers, some of which are Filipino. That's particularly nice to know, given products from the Philippines are much harder to find since Sunshine Filipino Grocery moved from Highway 72 and onto the archived City Directory shelf of the Library's Heritage Room. As is to be expected, there's an area literally teeming with dried Soups (they referred to it as their "Ramen Aisle"); a very varied Rice selection, including Black Glutinous and Purple varieties; and a sizeable Coffee/Tea area, which even included those beautiful, yet muted-colored, cans of Café du Monde...but alas, no beignets. If you buy it, just deck out in purple and green, throw some powdered sugar all over yourself, and dream of Justin Wilson. Of course, you'll happen upon assorted Spices and what one might call "fixin's"...of all stripes. Imported, canned seafood is common, so I tried both Eel and Squid...and would take them over Sardines any day, though I need to check on the comparative cholesterol levels and I halted a moment when I felt that I might have been eating what were in fact tiny squid BEAKS. Either way, these would be handy and pertinent décor for the aforementioned NOLA experience. There's a wealth of freezer items, including many which I'm told appeal particularly to the area vegans and vegetarians who are frequent customers. In my carnivorous case, the frozen, already prepped Squid most readily caught my eye. I've stir-fried the fresh version on many an occasion, but some of FE's ice-covered cephalopods were not only already sliced up, they boasted that diamond-scored pattern that ensures the visual treat one can only enjoy from preying on intelligent sea creatures. Soft Tofu, Hard Tofu, and more Tofu are also found within, leaving you with a somewhat less-guilty feeling, though sidetracking our slightly superior standing in the Food Chain. You should note the hours here were recently expanded and they now open from 9:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. every day except Sunday, when they close at 6:00 p.m.

She thought I was going to walk away but I requested a manager and she came over and was very respectful and professional and she gave me a gift card. ‍ Simple right? Thank you. As much money as we spend at Kroger, Jasmine needs to stop feeling so important and take care of earnest customers even though I didn't have a receipt. SMH.

The staff are friendly, the store is clean and well organized and a great place to pick up an odd item such as tahini of which they carry 3 brands. Why no 5th star? The hubs *loves* Donato's pizza and the Kroger on 72 near Jeff Rd. carries them as "take and bake." Apparently, this is a Kroger anomaly because I cannot find another Kroger that stocks these. Also, while they *do* offer the 10% discount if you purchase 6 bottles of wine, they do not offer the free reusable wine totes that the Kroger on 72 does. If you want a clean, organized Kroger with a cute little wi fi chill out area, deli and all the other Krogeriffic things, do go here. This clean organized goodness carries over to their gas station experience, too! Don't forget to scan your Kroger plus card to get a decent discount on your gas purchase. Thanks Kroger!

There was only one checkout line available and I was second in line with only a few items and the person in front had a large basket full. There was a younger man behind me, also with a few items. I asked if there were no express lines open and the cashier said no when all of the sudden a female employee from the front of the store motioned for the young man behind me to come to the front so she could check him out. I was frustrated because it looked like there was some favoritism going on based on ethnicity since they were both the same and I am white. I just left my basket of items and walked out, never to return. I'm not saying all of Publix has a preference in who gets good customer service, but it sure did look like they got at least one employee who does. I don't need this kind of stuff in my life and I'm happy to give my business to others since there are plenty of options other than Publix available. Publix lost a longtime customer today.

They had hand/shopping cart wipes and the store was really neat and clean, and, as others said, staff at any Publix I've been in are always very friendly and helpful! I noticed they had an abundance of "grab and go items," and somehow, I never saw the deli or the customer service area. I think the customer service desk is a hard right as you enter the store. What I really love is the Publix app. I haven't used all the features, (preloading coupons, making a shopping list, shopping the sale items via the app., etc.) I **do** love the app's touchless payment option! Just load your payment(s) (for me, that's my Visa to pay for grocery items and my FHSA card for prescription/OTC items) and you scan (or as I call it - take a picture of) the Q-code on the payment screen and voila! You've paid, and the app obtains and retains the purchase receipt. Touchless and cool. A lot of the Publix staff are not familiar with the app., and sometimes they struggle to complete the transaction, even though I announce "I am paying with the Publix app" and show them. This may add a few minutes to the transaction, and once, I had trouble scanning the Q-code due to the Plexiglass partition, but finally made it work. This is a nice Publix and I'm happy it's nearby in Clift Farms!
