Sandy gave me the best haircut! I was able to get in right away on my lunch break. She took her time and did an excellent job on the layers. Sandy really listened to what I wanted. She gave me a great shampoo and blow dry. I also appreciated that she didn't push products. That's a plus in my book and will keep me coming back. Thank you Sandy!! read more

Hours online showed they opened at 9am. I arrived at 9:55, still not open. Sign on the window says they opened at 10am. Annoying but ok, I only have to wait a few minutes. 10:05 and still not open. At that point, I put it in reverse and moved on to the next place. As I was leaving someone was dropped off to open the shop, but it was too late at that point. Punctuality matters. read more

I normally come here, but looks like I need to find a new place. Called twice today, to make an appointment.. both times, someone picks up ( I can hear them breathing) and hangs up. Like they say, "I'll take my money elsewhere" read more

Tina just does whatever she thinks looks good and does not listen to the customer. I asked for a 6 on the sides and back and I asked to keep some length on top. I even showed her where to cut and she gave me a 6 all the way around. Terrible service I will not be returning read more

Andi totally fixed my hair!!!! It looks AMAZING!! He was so kind and fun. It wasn't too busy and I got in right away. I'm never going to anyone else to do my hair. He gave me great advice on the shape of the cut I wanted, and advised me well on where to put the highlights. I got exactly what I wanted and also exactly what looks best on me. I feel like myself again thank you so much!!! read more

Virginia is lovely, cery sweet, personable and understanding! I came in nervous because I have had a lot of bad experiences in the past, and she allowed me to freely express myself, and I explain to her way through the process each and every step. She's really such a sweet lady with a Great heart, and for such an affordable service it was really a great experience. Thank you for helping me feel better about myself for my birthday Virginia! -Kiana Rose read more

Usually come here, the price equals the quality and I was fine, but service today was just not okay. The gentleman who cut my hair, really rough in general on moving head combing hair etc., Definitely did not appreciate it when he touched my chin to move my head. All he had to say was "head up". The non-haircut part too, I know my hair was messy coming in, it's a weekend I'm not gonna look business appropriate before I cut my hair but definitely smirking when he saw me. Never had that experience with others here. At the very end too, when the credit card wasn't working on the first try. Do not, again do not use your damn shirt to wipe my card. Probably going to find myself a new place. Just these days cheap just means bad, didn't use to be that way. read more

I am so gratefull I have found a place to get my hair cut. I have been to Fantastic Sams twice now and Delaina Young did a great job both times--I will be going there for all future hair cuts. I came here for a kids haircut. They weren't that friendly to my kids. I get it, they're not the most well behaved and it's tough for them to sit still. I'll just try another place. read more

I've always had a pleasant experience here. I would recommend this place for men's and women's hair.

Got charged $23 for a haircut with clippers and scissors. I was in and out in under 10 minutes and she absolutely butchered the clipper job all around the sides and back. Patches all over and not sure what she was trying to accomplish in the back with some kinda partial jagged fade. I'm not picky when it comes to haircuts, just want it shorter so it's not a mop on my head but this is just sheer incompetence, laziness or possibly both. Fantastic Scams. The worker was an older Asian lady, in case you wanna avoid her. read more

Fantastic Sams - Butchered Haircut, Fantastic Sams, $23. - Hair Salons Near Me - Orange, California

For years this Fantastic Sam's location was my go to for a good hair cut at an affordable price, but after my last visit I will not be returning. There were no customers, so I was able to walk in and be seated immediately which was nice. Although my stylist was polite and friendly, she didn't introduce herself (so I don't know her name). I also don't know if she's new to being a stylist or just had a bad day, but the cut she gave me is uneven and she gave me mild razor burn on the back of my neck. My hair doesn't look bad at first glance, but you can definitely see that one side was cut shorter than the other. My stylist commented that it may look uneven because my hair is wavy on one side. However, my hair is wavy all over and if you pull down on sections of hair on each side, you can see the difference in length. I feel like she rushed through my cut and didn't check her work, I recommend that if you come to this location, ask for a name and some background before letting the stylist work on your hair. read more

I've gotten my hair cut here quite a few times. $16 for a cut and shampoo. Similar in services to other Fantastic Sams. First chair and owner Tina gives Great haircuts and it's worth the wait to wait for her if she is helping another client. Overall, great experience. read more

First hair cut in several months, partially due to COVID. Recommended by a coworker and was worth a try since I recently moved to Orange. Super friendly staff in a great location. They did a great job trying to tame all my cowlicks, LOL. Spent about $25 including tip for my haircut and I will definitely be back! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Never come here. Trash service and horrible commuication with clients. I arrived at 6pm. I signed in and asked how long the wait was. I was told 30 mins. I asked if i go home and come back in 20 mins if my spot will be saved. She said yes. I come back in 20 mins. And they skip over me. I waited 1 hour and 20 mins. I went up to the only lady who was there and asked how much longer. She said she wasnt going to be able to help me since they close at 8pm. I left without a haircut. All I needed was a trim. The owner was in the back and heard the conversation and never once came out to say anything. Seriously don't waste your time. read more

I hate to complain but I want to make sure that The stylist understand that whoever shows up first should be seen first. The stylist who is there in the morning tells people to wait outside so she can set up open etc . Well I'm waiting outside like she said and another elderly customer walks in and low and behold she starts working on the lady . I know she had no appointment because it's on a walk in basis . I had to go to work but I had already waited. She finishes with the other customer and doesn't apologize or anything. This is rude and just wrong . I just hope these hairdressers consider and keep their eyes open . read more

Walked in this morning for a haircut and had the pleasure to meet Sandra. She was very sweet and knowledgeable. I showed her some inspiration pieces and she helped me figure out which would work best for my hair type and lifestyle. And the cut is beautiful! Thank you, Sandra! read more

I was hoping to get a hair cut for my daughter. I called prior to check if they had availability and the hairstylist said yes. I showed up within 15 minutes . There were two hairstylists working on clients. I signed my daughter in on the sheet. Neither of them said "Hello, Welcome, we will be with you shortly" even though they saw me walk in. There wasn't anybody waiting so we assumed we would be "next" We sat and waited patiently for about 25 minutes. As the hairstylist finished her client, she walks to sign in sheet and calls ( a woman who had arrived after us) she greeted her in a friendly manner as If she knew her . I told the hairstylist that we were waiting, and thought we would be next . She said that "it's first come first serve basis" & even though I called they can not put me on the list. Supposedly, This woman had arrived prior to us and placed her name on the list & returned after we arrived. Since I guess she was saving her "spot". I guess I was more disappointed that this place lacked the basic customer service skills to make new customers feel welcome. Oh well. read more

Tina and all her crew are amazing. I've been coming to this Fantastic Sams for over 15YRS since I moved to the immediate area and the talent she attracts are always professional and best yet have me looking much better leaving than when I came in. Yes her prices are a few dollars higher than other salons however this is a specific instance where you get what you pay for. I strongly recommend Tina and this Fantastic Sams. read more

My daughter and I came in just for a trim. We both have shoulder length hair, barely lands on our shoulders. The sign says adult cuts with shampoo is $19. Being on a budget, I felt this was doable for us. Reviews looked decent so I gave it a shot. I have to stress that we barely got a trim, no styling or anything. Anyway, Emilia, the one that cut my hair rang us up and charged me $48.00!! I asked $48??? The sign says $19 with trim and shampoo. She said they charge $5.00 more For longer hair. Both of our hair barely reaches our shoulders how is that considered longer hair??!! Very bad service. Will not be back. I may walk back in and request the manager right now.... very disappointed. read more

My son went there and he got great hair cut every time. He really like it . Very fast and great customer service

HORRIBLE!!!!! An Asian lady cut my hair and butchered it! I noticed that she was going really fast and not even holding my hair to cut it, she just cut it as it was laying on my shoulder. She insisted that she knew what she was doing and that I need to just let her finish... so I did. When she showed me the end result my heart dropped! I asked for layers with a V shape in the back. I ended up with SHORT, choppy, uneven hair and one long piece in the back, like a rat tail. My long hair was gone! I was devistated! I immediately got out of the chair and told her she destroyed my hair and I am not paying for this! All she said was, "Ok, that's fine!" I can't believe she was given a cosmetology license!! Even her attitude was mean and arrogant. I wish I would've gotten her name... she was at the first chair on the right. I ended up having to go to a salon to get it fixed for $100. I will never return to that place. Worst experience ever!!!! read more

I wish I had read these reviews. The older lady working Saturday morning was terrible! She either doesn't understand English or chooses to not listen. I stopped her three times from doing exactly what I asked her not to do. I finally walked away after she condescendingly told me why my haircut of 30-years is not possible. read more

Love this business! Close to home and the hairdresser I use, always listens to what I want! With the virus concerns, they space out the clients, and they are sanitizing between clients. So I am confident they do their part in keeping themselves and their customers as safe as possible. The prices are very low and I will continue to go there! read more

Omg thanks to Andy my hair looks and feels better. He did a great job on my bangs plus gave me good tips on how to style it. I would totally come back for hair cut or other. Thanks Andy! read more

First time at this location. Waited maybe 5 minutes in a Monday afternoon which was very nice. The woman who cut my hair did a great job. She was really quiet. No small talk. But she also had a heavy accent, so I didn't mind. Overall. Great price. Great cut. I'll return soon enough. read more

I went to get my haircut on Sunday and the lady that cut my hair cut it so uneven that it looks terrible. She also continued to cut it when I said I only wanted it cut at my collarbone. My mom was charged an extra $20 just because I had thick hair. I would rather go to my hairstylist and spend more money knowing it will turn out really nice. Overall I will never go back again. read more

Credit card machine not working so they said they would take a check, luckily I had one on me, then they decided that no they wouldn't take a check and I had to get cash, so I left, totally not customer oriented at this location, from my experience. read more

The lady was really nice but they needed more people doing haircuts. The line was getting long and there was only one person inside. She cut a bit too short than what I wanted but it still looked nice and clean. Not too great on details however. read more

While the lady (I say lady cuz she didn't tell me her name) did a decent job I am kind of irritated about the lack of communication. There were no prices listed. Only a page in plexiglass facing AWAY from customers tucked in by the register. I noticed $19 for an adult haircut with shampoo and conditioner. I said skip the wash and the lady did my hair. My hair was staticky and started to knot since I didn't get the wash but she didn't really wet my hair either making it get yanked a few times. When I went to pay she charged me $22. I asked since I didn't do a wash if it was cheaper and she said no (a different location by my house charges less without the wash) also not sure why it was $22 and not $19. If the upcharge was for longer hair I wish she would have told me that, as well as that the wash was included. *There was also no small talk with any of the customers. It was complete silence which was a little weird. read more

Went in on a Friday afternoon asked for a specific hair color and said she couldn't do it because my hair was previously already colored so I said that was fine if she could do highlights. She agreed I sat in a chair for about 3 hours with bleach breaking off all over the floor . Finally I got my hair washed out and the stylist started blow drying my hair and all I see is it falling out . She stayed quiet and did not say anything . Once I got up I asked her if my hair would continue to fall out and she replied no just don't pull on it . I went back 10 minutes later after crying that my hair was still falling out an asked for my $90 dollars back and she said she couldn't . I asked to talk to the manger and she replied to come back on Saturday at 12pm . Not only did I have to wait till Saturday I had to wait in the area 3 hours before 12 so that I could talk to the manger when I already had plans with my 2 kids. I got to the store and was told to wait 20 minutes. The manger ended up saying she doesn't give refunds until I showed her a bag of my hair that had fallen out . She said it was my fault that my hair was falling because it was previously colored . I asked for my money back and for a treatment and cut. She ended up giving me my money back but said she would not give me a treatment or hair cut that it was because my hair was colored already . The manger did not handle this with 100% guest service. My hair is burnt and has already broken off a lot of its strands . Not only did I not get what I wanted I got something that has ruined my hair and was treated without respect or sympathy. I wasted my time trusting someone that is supposably licensed with no apology. I wouldn't give it any stars but I could not post without at least one . read more

DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR CUT HERE!!!!!!! My hair is soo messed up. I got my hair cur by a woman who said she had 15 years of experience but it looked like a 2 year old cut it..all I wanted was a trim but she layered (which I did not want layers) it soooo uneven and choppy...its is horrible!!!! I went back and Tina tried to fix it but it is so chopped and uneven it could not be fixed....I have to wait til it grows out and then I will go somewhere else. read more

I have gotten my hair done here many times. I have LONG hair and get it washed and blown straight then flat ironed. The girls do a good job, but it had no life to it.... just straight. They didn't seem to really want to do it because it would take 45 minutes of their time. A while back they hired Andy. He did my hair and it looked great. It was light and flowing. He takes time to make SURE it looks nice when you leave. Even if it takes an hour or more. I won't go to anyone else now. Andy was a find for this place. read more

I don't know if I'm really qualified to declare "As Good as it gets" on a hair cutting place, because frankly I don have very much left. But with that being said this place has always done right by me, I have had my hair cut by a couple different ladies in here and I have always been happy with the results. The price is very reasonable too. If you are looking for a haircut, you're in Orange, and you don't need anything too fancy or expansive, hit up Fantastic Sam's. read more

Nice people but higher cost than every other Fantastic Sam's I have ever been to for a simple buzz cut. A buzz cut was asked for in advance, so they likely knew the full cost that they were about to charge was unexpected, but did not say anything. The stylist did do a great job. read more

They give great haircuts at a pretty decent price. The only drawback is the wait, which can be very long at times.

Sara saved my life needed a good hair cut and highlights, really glad I stopped..

Have spent many years paying a fortune at upscale salons only to get less than perfect results and wishing Tabatha Coffey would do a Salon Takeover, but I was in a rush for a good, cheap haircut and stopped by and had a visit with Tina. I have never in my life been more pleased with her professionalism and service. My daughter who's picky too also won't let anyone else do her hair except for Tina. I notice also that Tina is the most requested stylist in there and I can see why. I give this place a 5 star for quality and service! read more
