Usually come here, the price equals the quality and I was fine, but service today was just not okay. The gentleman who cut my hair, really rough in general on moving head combing hair etc., Definitely did not appreciate it when he touched my chin to move my head. All he had to say was "head up". The non-haircut part too, I know my hair was messy coming in, it's a weekend I'm not gonna look business appropriate before I cut my hair but definitely smirking when he saw me. Got charged $23 for a haircut with clippers and scissors. I was in and out in under 10 minutes and she absolutely butchered the clipper job all around the sides and back. Patches all over and not sure what she was trying to accomplish in the back with some kinda partial jagged fade. I'm not picky when it comes to haircuts, just want it shorter so it's not a mop on my head but this is just sheer incompetence, laziness or possibly both. Fantastic Scams. For years this Fantastic Sam's location was my go to for a good hair cut at an affordable price, but after my last visit I will not be returning. There were no customers, so I was able to walk in and be seated immediately which was nice. Although my stylist was polite and friendly, she didn't introduce herself (so I don't know her name). I also don't know if she's new to being a stylist or just had a bad day, but the cut she gave me is uneven and she gave me mild razor burn on the back of my neck. My hair doesn't look bad at first glance, but you can definitely see that one side was cut shorter than the other. My stylist commented that it may look uneven because my hair is wavy on one side. However, my hair is wavy all over and if you pull down on sections of hair on each side, you can see the difference in length. I feel like she rushed through my cut and didn't check her work, I recommend that if you come to this location, ask for a name and some background before letting the stylist work on your hair. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Never come here. Trash service and horrible commuication with clients. I arrived at 6pm. I signed in and asked how long the wait was. I was told 30 mins. I asked if i go home and come back in 20 mins if my spot will be saved. She said yes. I come back in 20 mins. And they skip over me. I waited 1 hour and 20 mins. I went up to the only lady who was there and asked how much longer. She said she wasnt going to be able to help me since they close at 8pm. I left without a haircut. All I needed was a trim. I hate to complain but I want to make sure that The stylist understand that whoever shows up first should be seen first. The stylist who is there in the morning tells people to wait outside so she can set up open etc . Well I'm waiting outside like she said and another elderly customer walks in and low and behold she starts working on the lady . I know she had no appointment because it's on a walk in basis . I was hoping to get a hair cut for my daughter. I called prior to check if they had availability and the hairstylist said yes. I showed up within 15 minutes . There were two hairstylists working on clients. I signed my daughter in on the sheet. Neither of them said "Hello, Welcome, we will be with you shortly" even though they saw me walk in. There wasn't anybody waiting so we assumed we would be "next" We sat and waited patiently for about 25 minutes. As the hairstylist finished her client, she walks to sign in sheet and calls ( a woman who had arrived after us) she greeted her in a friendly manner as If she knew her . I told the hairstylist that we were waiting, and thought we would be next . She said that "it's first come first serve basis" & even though I called they can not put me on the list. Supposedly, This woman had arrived prior to us and placed her name on the list & returned after we arrived. Since I guess she was saving her "spot". I guess I was more disappointed that this place lacked the basic customer service skills to make new customers feel welcome. Oh well. read more

I've been coming to this Fantastic Sams for over 15YRS since I moved to the immediate area and the talent she attracts are always professional and best yet have me looking much better leaving than when I came in. My daughter and I came in just for a trim. We both have shoulder length hair, barely lands on our shoulders. The sign says adult cuts with shampoo is $19. Being on a budget, I felt this was doable for us. Reviews looked decent so I gave it a shot. I have to stress that we barely got a trim, no styling or anything. Anyway, Emilia, the one that cut my hair rang us up and charged me $48.00!! I asked $48??? The sign says $19 with trim and shampoo. She said they charge $5.00 more For longer hair. HORRIBLE!!!!! An Asian lady cut my hair and butchered it! I noticed that she was going really fast and not even holding my hair to cut it, she just cut it as it was laying on my shoulder. She insisted that she knew what she was doing and that I need to just let her finish... so I did. When she showed me the end result my heart dropped! I asked for layers with a V shape in the back. I ended up with SHORT, choppy, uneven hair and one long piece in the back, like a rat tail. My long hair was gone! I was devistated! I immediately got out of the chair and told her she destroyed my hair and I am not paying for this! All she said was, "Ok, that's fine!" I can't believe she was given a cosmetology license!! Even her attitude was mean and arrogant. I wish I would've gotten her name... she was at the first chair on the right. I ended up having to go to a salon to get it fixed for $100. I went to get my haircut on Sunday and the lady that cut my hair cut it so uneven that it looks terrible. She also continued to cut it when I said I only wanted it cut at my collarbone. My mom was charged an extra $20 just because I had thick hair. I would rather go to my hairstylist and spend more money knowing it will turn out really nice. While the lady (I say lady cuz she didn't tell me her name) did a decent job I am kind of irritated about the lack of communication. There were no prices listed. Only a page in plexiglass facing AWAY from customers tucked in by the register. I noticed $19 for an adult haircut with shampoo and conditioner. I said skip the wash and the lady did my hair. My hair was staticky and started to knot since I didn't get the wash but she didn't really wet my hair either making it get yanked a few times. When I went to pay she charged me $22. I asked since I didn't do a wash if it was cheaper and she said no (a different location by my house charges less without the wash) also not sure why it was $22 and not $19. If the upcharge was for longer hair I wish she would have told me that, as well as that the wash was included. *There was also no small talk with any of the customers. Went in on a Friday afternoon asked for a specific hair color and said she couldn't do it because my hair was previously already colored so I said that was fine if she could do highlights. She agreed I sat in a chair for about 3 hours with bleach breaking off all over the floor . Finally I got my hair washed out and the stylist started blow drying my hair and all I see is it falling out . She stayed quiet and did not say anything . Once I got up I asked her if my hair would continue to fall out and she replied no just don't pull on it . I went back 10 minutes later after crying that my hair was still falling out an asked for my $90 dollars back and she said she couldn't . I asked to talk to the manger and she replied to come back on Saturday at 12pm . Not only did I have to wait till Saturday I had to wait in the area 3 hours before 12 so that I could talk to the manger when I already had plans with my 2 kids. I got to the store and was told to wait 20 minutes. The manger ended up saying she doesn't give refunds until I showed her a bag of my hair that had fallen out . She said it was my fault that my hair was falling because it was previously colored . I asked for my money back and for a treatment and cut. She ended up giving me my money back but said she would not give me a treatment or hair cut that it was because my hair was colored already . The manger did not handle this with 100% guest service. My hair is burnt and has already broken off a lot of its strands . Not only did I not get what I wanted I got something that has ruined my hair and was treated without respect or sympathy. I have gotten my hair done here many times. I have LONG hair and get it washed and blown straight then flat ironed. The girls do a good job, but it had no life to it.... just straight. They didn't seem to really want to do it because it would take 45 minutes of their time. A while back they hired Andy. He did my hair and it looked great. It was light and flowing. My hair was getting heavy and pretty wild, so I went to a hair salon in Bolsa. The hairstylist layered my hair, which was nice at first, but it returned to its wild state a couple weeks later. So a friend of mine recommended Fantastic Sams and I got Andy to do my hair. I told him to crop it so I could take better care of it. He took his time to make sure I was satisfied with the right length and body. And needless to say, I was pretty happy with my new cut. It's been a week now and it's so much easier to take care of it.
