I stopped at this little gem for a quick snack. It did not disappoint at all. I got the garlic Parmesan wings and a side of Mac and cheese. The wings were cooked just right. I cannot stand soft wings yuck...and these wings were cooked to perfection. I was so satisfied that I forgot to order cheesecake before I left. I sat outside on the patio and my view was peaceful.

Soo I found this cute little spot on Yelp in Downtown Memphis when I googled Best Chicken and Waffles in Memphis (It's kind of hidden) but it's a great lil gem; and it was Delicious . We had a great experience, The ambiance is very welcoming and the place is a little small but very cute and cozy. They have Amazing food, the Herb Chicken it's my favorite along with the Mac&Cheese (it's awesome gooey goodness) and Collard Greens. The service was great as well, the Staff here is extremely friendly and made great recommendations. We will definitely be back soon....

What a fun find! Passing thru Memphis and staying at a hotel 5 minutes away. We always like some Chicken & Waffles, so we gave it a try. Wife had Pecan Praline Tenders & Waffles - super sweet and delicious. I had the Drumstick Snack with Waffle - and it was amazing. We also got their skillet collard greens - fantastic. Fortunately we were in town on unusually cool August evening - so we sat at an outside table and it was lovely. Very limited seating inside and out - so if you have more than 4 seating could be an issue. Really great food - we enjoyed it.

Food was excellent. I ordered the caramel pecan crusted chicken tenders and waffles. My hubs d ordered waffles and Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious and it's priced reasonably. Will definitely come back every time I visit Memphis.

Chicken and waffle. Stupid good. I ain't gonna lie about it.

Ok! Ok!!! "They" said the best wings in the city. I know! I know! "They" hard to find. Buy y'all they ain't lying. This chicken wing. This one. You need this in your life. Little hard to find out here on Tennessee street. But well worth the trouble. I ordered the 5 whole wings and waffle. I'm telling you it was stupid good. You know how the whole wing has that worthless tip you can't do nothing with? Well if you don't put that tip in your mouth before you throw it away we just can't be friends. Don't waste none of this flavor. Looks like I found me a new stop on my Memphis food tour for my friends out of town. Oh and the waffle was amazing as well. Do yourself a favor and make your way on over here. You will thank me after I promise.

The waffle pizza! A must try!

I tried the waffle pizza and words can not explain how good this was! I have not experienced anything like it. It was excellent!

We were on our way home and found this quaint restaurant. Me and my friends tried the Praline Pecan Waffles, the mac and cheese and the chicken salad. My taste buds came alive. The owner was gracious and proud of his menu and that was refreshing. Tip: get a piece of the cheesecake for dessert.

Sunrise Memphis did not disappoint. We stopped in around 12:30 p.m. on a Wednesday and didn't experience any crowds or much of a lunch rush. That being said, after eating here, I completely understand why people mention waiting hours on weekends. The ordering process is simple: walk up to the counter, place your order, grab a number, and seat yourself. I appreciated that they offer both breakfast and lunch all day because it meant we didn't have to choose between the two. I ordered the chicken tenders with tater tots and an Arnold Palmer. Everything was fresh, hot, and exactly the kind of comfort food you crave in the middle of a long road trip. Kyler ordered the Kitchen Sink, which came with eggs, bacon, hash browns, grits, and a biscuit. He asked if he could swap the cheesy grits and biscuit for biscuits and gravy, and they ended up bringing him everything anyway! It was a massive meal, but absolutely delicious. Beyond the food, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I also loved the fun, eclectic atmosphere. The colorful Memphis touches throughout the restaurant gave it so much personality, and there was even a bar area that made me think this would be an absolute blast for brunch with friends. Sunrise Memphis ended up being one of our favorite surprises of the entire drive. If you're passing through town, do yourself a favor and stop here.

This place is quirky with its decor but on point with the food. Get the bacon! Always get the bacon! I'm still dreaming about it! Be warned! We were told during busy times, the line stretches around the building for a steady 8hrs at a time! May the timing of your visit ever be in your favor!

The food and coffee was so delicious. I wouldn't say I'm a food snob, but I'm particular about breakfast foods, and this made me very happy. We each ordered a coffee and the bacon potatoes to share. I ordered the Juniper Benedict and my friend ordered the loaded biscuits and gravy. The bacon potatoes were cooked perfectly, soft and slightly crunchy with plenty of cheese and bacon. The eggs in my eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly and they used a regular house-made biscuit that soaked up the egg yolks perfectly. The restaurant was pretty big, but the ambiance felt like a small-town diner. The staff was super kind and attentive, too. The cost is par for the course for a nice diner in a big city. TLDR: Not a bad word to say about this place.

Plenty of indoor seating including the bar area. There are a few tables for outdoor seating as well. Plenty of parking. Hostess seated me. The menu was front and back simple with breakfast items and small section for lunch. Breakfast is their main menu meal. I had coffee and ordered the Belgian waffle that came with fruit and whip topping. The coffee was piping hot anso delicious you can drink it straight. The waffle looked good just was not hot and skimpy on the fruit and whipped topping. It had a nice crispy taste and flavor and was really good just not hot when it arrived. Caroline was my waitress and she had such a pleasant smile and disposition. A very personal person. The way she took care of her customers you could tell she enjoyed her job. She brought me my bill and there was a Big Bad Breakfast postcard attached. Nice touch. Excellent service. I got a coffee to go and it was hot and freshly brewed. The tables were cleaned after each customer, sprayed down, chairs pushed in , tables straightened and fresh silverware placed. Check the time before you go but this is a great place to eat.

The chicken and waffles were well-executed, with a crispy, seasoned coating and soft waffles that held up nicely. The potatoes were cooked through with good texture and flavor, and the biscuit was warm, buttery, and clearly made with care. The fish dish was also a standout--well-seasoned with a clean sear, paired nicely with creamy grits and greens that added balance. The drinks complemented the meal well--refreshing, properly mixed, and presented nicely. Now, the only miss: the pancakes (not pictured). They were returned due to being extremely thin and lacking flavor. That was a noticeable gap compared to the rest of the menu, which otherwise showed strong execution. Overall, this was still a solid brunch experience, and I would definitely return. With a small adjustment to the pancakes, this place easily holds its reputation.

The Toasted Yolk gave us a little bit of everything--some hits, some misses, and one bartender who…read moremay have found a new calling. Avocado Toast Let's start with what should be one of the easiest breakfast items on any menu. Avocado toast doesn't need much--fresh avocado, a squeeze of lemon or lime, cracked pepper, sea salt, roasted tomatoes, cilantro, and a little love. Unfortunately, mine arrived with chunky raw onions, a few tomatoes, and not much else. The bright flavors that make avocado toast shine were missing. The sourdough bread, however, was perfectly toasted and had a great texture. Eggs Both dishes were ordered with eggs cooked over hard. Both arrived over easy. That's a simple request that should have been easy to execute. Salmon Benedict Presentation was nice, but the seasoning department apparently took the morning off. Salmon naturally has great flavor, but it still needs something. A squeeze of lemon, a touch of cracked pepper, sea salt, fresh herbs--anything. The salmon was bland, and the hash brown casserole followed the same theme. Breakfast Potatoes We ordered potatoes with grilled onions and received potatoes topped with the same chunky raw onions that appeared on the avocado toast. Not exactly what was expected. Now for the stars of the show... the drinks. The Mimosa was delicious, refreshing, and exactly what brunch should be. The Sidecar deserves special recognition. When the bartender admitted they had to Google how to make it, I became a little nervous. Turns out I had no reason to be. That Sidecar was fantastic and easily the best thing that hit our table all morning. Whoever made it absolutely knocked it out of the park. Final Verdict The Toasted Yolk has potential, but the kitchen needs to become friends with seasoning. The ingredients were there; the flavor was not. A few simple additions--lemon, pepper, salt, herbs, and attention to cooking eggs correctly--would have dramatically improved the experience. Will I return? Yes. The drinks were excellent, the atmosphere was pleasant, and there's enough on the menu to give it another chance. Next visit, I'll be ordering something different and hoping the kitchen brings a little more flavor to the table.
