The food is delicious IF you can catch him on a day he's serving hot food. There's sometimes a sign in the door stating that no hot food is being served. You also can't call ahead to find out if it's one of those days because the line states the number has changed but the new number is unknown... However, the wings are amazing. Perfectly seasoned! The Mac & cheese is solid as well. The greens were too sweet & not savory. I could've gone without. This place was a short walk from our hotel room so we opted to have dinner here on our last night in town. We walked on in and the employee quickly came inside to greet us. I had looked over the menu online so I had set my mind on ordering a half chicken but he informed me they no longer offered it. I looked over the menu again and I decided on ordering the chicken salad waffle sandwich and it came with chips and fruit. My sister had the order of chicken wings and we got a side of mac and cheese, two drinks, and a slice of cheesecake. We sat down and waited for our food. It didn't take too long for it to be ready and the very friendly employee brought it to our table. The chicken sandwich was pretty good but it got soggy very fast so it got messy as the waffle kept crumbling. The chicken breast itself tasted really good and the sandwich was stuffed. The fruit was fresh and sweet. The chicken wings were the best ones we've had in a minute! They were juicy, crispy. and full of flavor. The mac and cheese was also delicious. It was hot and cheesy. We decided to eat the cheesecake back in the room since we were super stuffed after we ate all our food. I quickly noticed that it smelled funky as I opened it and it had an overpowering cheese smell. My sister took her first bite and she made a disgusted face. I then proceeded to try it and I did not like it one bit. It definitely did not taste like regular cheesecake or to what we are used to. This was not good. Overall our dinner was good and the service was great. Both guys that were working were friendly and provided great service. I would so come back for some more chicken wings and mac and cheese! Food was okay, didn't like the fact that we had to sit outside while we wait on the food. Service wasn't the best, the owner plays a huge part. Cashier, Cook, and all. Its a 1 man show . So I won't say to much because he's doing everything by himself. I'm not a big fan on the waffles, wasn't my favorite at all. Very thick and dry. Soo I found this cute little spot on Yelp in Downtown Memphis when I googled Best Chicken and Waffles in Memphis (It's kind of hidden) but it's a great lil gem; and it was Delicious . We had a great experience, The ambiance is very welcoming and the place is a little small but very cute and cozy. They have Amazing food, the Herb Chicken it's my favorite along with the Mac&Cheese (it's awesome gooey goodness) and Collard Greens. What a fun find! Passing thru Memphis and staying at a hotel 5 minutes away. We always like some Chicken & Waffles, so we gave it a try. Wife had Pecan Praline Tenders & Waffles - super sweet and delicious. I had the Drumstick Snack with Waffle - and it was amazing. We also got their skillet collard greens - fantastic. Fortunately we were in town on unusually cool August evening - so we sat at an outside table and it was lovely. Highly recommend Fannie Lou's as it is one of my favorite places in Memphis! Not only can you easily get cheesecake from the cheesecake corner right here- their wings are to die for! The mini wings along with the whole wings are some of the best I've ever had. My favorite sauce is the Fannie Lou hot and seasoned. I wish I was able to buy just the seasoning/sauce as it's that good! My baby is obsessed with their waffles (and so am I honestly). I can't say enough good things about this place. The worker inside is extremely nice and will make you feel like you've been lifelong friends with him from day one. I usually go on Wednesday-Friday as I live just upstairs and enjoy the easy access. I've never been inside and heard a customer say a bad thing about the food. Since they're an and coming restaurant I would recommend going now while you'll have the space. Since there is only one worker per day & your food will be cooked fresh- be ready for a small wait. But they have enough drink options to make the wait not seem as long. It is a bit small inside but most people enjoy sitting out (but there are plenty of indoor seating options). I wish their offered more full meals & at least one or two appetizers for when I'm feeling something more filling or just a quick snack. read more

The chicken wings were the best I've had in a long time, well seasoned (savory and a little sweet) and juicy with crispy skin. The waffles and sweet grits were great. The chicken salad waffle sandwich is AMAZING. The waffle for this is more of a cake-ish like consistency both in fluff and sweetness, so it ends up being more of a fork & knife situation vs a handheld sandwich. Either way, I will definitely be going back for many more of these. read more

I've never been to heaven, but I've been to Fannie Lou's. I imagine this is how the food tastes. First time having chicken and waffles, and I don't think I could bring myself to order it anywhere else, because I was spoiled with the best. Travis is an angel, humble and sweet. His smile was the cherry on top. That man appreciates a compliment! Pecan praline crusted tenders with waffles and gooey caramel was heaven. The "butter" on the sweet potato gave it a "pie" flavor, and 3 of us shared it, big sweet potato! The baked Mac and cheese and the collard greens were delicious!
