Bought the USDA Prime Steaks Variety Pack and the All Natural Flavor Chicken Variety Pack. All the meat has a funny taste and texture. Not sure if it is real meat. My wife has a food allergy to preservatives and the meat made her sick. Run, just run, better yet don't answer the door. Chris comes to my door says knock knock out loud and then knocks on the door super loud. If we were not in a gated community where they illegally came into our neighborhood where the street is privately owned by the HOA. I still gave him an opportunity to sell me cause I do like good meat. He asks me "working like crazy" and my response was no I just got laid off after almost 10 years. He then goes to his truck and starts throwing all these meat all over my front porch. Then starts talking numbers. Tells me 300 meals with a freezer, for $3700. Chris then tries to sweeten the deal telling what he is giving me for $1700. He then tells me in a very aggressive way to not thaw the meat see the video. At this point my wife came out and explained to him he and his three other people that were going through the neighborhood are trespassing, and soliciting. He tried justifying it saying he isn't selling magazine he is selling everyday needs. Wake up Chris, sell in no gated communities. Stop trespassing, and maybe be a lot nicer to your customers and maybe you can get a 2 star review. All this and I never tried the product. Truck showed up to my house and "Chris" claimed he "remembered me" from a previous purchase. Shady from the start, but whatever. He tried to sell some nasty looking meat for 500$ with extremely aggressive sales tactics. I wasn't about to pay that much money so I settled on a small item just to get the guy away from my house after telling him "no" 3 times. Later that evening the card I used to pay for the item had multiple fraud alerts for someone making unauthorized purchases. Coincidence? I think not. So don't give this company, or "Chris" your business unless you want to get sick from their meat or have your credit card information stolen. Chris came to my door and sold me the beef, chicken, and seafood variety packs. At first, I will admit his loud energy and banging on the door can be a turn off for some people; however, I get it, its door to door sales. --- I heard him out, and he sold me. We were both excited, unpacking the food into the freezer. --- After the purchase, I looked into the reviews. I was not happy; my stomach turned. I went and looked at all the ingredients to ensure what I bought was edible. Then I noticed as I was going through it, he had accidently left two bags out of the freezer. So I gave a call and went straight to VM. I immediately called my bank and disputed the charge. --- Later in the day, he gave me a call back (he was doing deliveries when I called the company line, and he even gave me his cell number) and promised a few extra bags. Which means a lot to me. I then tried the Habanero Chicken and the Peppered Steak, and they were good. ----- I will be canceling my dispute. I haven't tried the seafood yet, but the bags of seafood that thawed in my garage looked fine. They're vacuum sealed, so I didn't smell them. ---- I will say in Chris' defense, and as a higher up in a sales company, THAT REVIEWS HURT. No one ever leaves good reviews. So I hope my review helps others not freak out like I did. In sales you have to be loud and different to get people's attention. He's actually a nice guy. --- The meat sold came out to maybe $5 - $9, but I also got a few 2lb bags of fillets, so its probably even cheaper because I didn't count each individual fillet. --- The ingredients I looked into aren't anything different than what we see in our local grocery stores. --- There's not an expiration date because meat below 0 degrees doesn't go bad. ---- You have to cook them from frozen because they are vacuum sealed and flash-frozen. I cooked them as they say on the box, and they're good (So far, I've only had the chicken and steak). --- If anything is off-putting, I'll adjust this post. The delivery guy just pounded up my porch literally screaming at me and throwing boxes of frozen meat in my face offering a free freezer and random frozen beef. He was extremely pushy and started cussing and pitching a fit when I said I would wait to talk to my husband. I'm sorry but I'm not impulse buying $400 in meat that I don't need. Wish I had read the reviews before shelling out $900 for a collection of beef, pork, chicken and seafood. The beef steaks are small, fatty and certainly not even Choice quality. The pork chops are thin and too tough to eat! The chicken breasts are the smallest I have ever seen 2-1/2 in x 1/4 inch. I'm not sure it is even chicken! Shame on me for spending so much without checking these folks out! And shame on them for a slick bait and switch--not the product that was shown at the door! Guy stopped by my house to sell me food. Saw the menu and was intrigued. Bought some of the steaks he had floating around. Told me it would be 60 but charged me 72 for seven steaks. That's over ten dollars a steak. My local Vons sells them for 5-7 a steak, including tbone, ribeye, and fillet trimmed up and low fat. Already bought them so I decided to cook a few. Started cooking them and slowly found out the steaks have more fat then expected. Quality wasn't good and price wasn't worth it. Sorry but last time I'm ever going to buy. read more
