Dr. Zhang is very friendly and I enjoy chatting with her during treatment, which gives me a relaxed experience. The regular and deep cleaning keep my oral health and reduce my teeth problems. She also provided very helpful advice on one of my teeth and recommended extraction and implant from a recommended dentist. We and our daughters have been patients of Dr. Zhang for approximately 20 years. We have received excellent dental care. My wife was recently fitted for a mouth guard. She was impressed by Dr. Zhang's follow-up. Dr. Zhang devoted considerable time to ensure the mouth guard would fit comfortably and would become a part of my wife's daily routine. Excellent dental visit here. I have not had a regular dentist for many years, so it is nice to have finally found one. The location is close to home and I like that they there are open on Saturday. It seems like most offices are weekdays only. What I particularly liked about the experience is that Dr. Zhang explained the procedures beforehand. It was nice to get a description of what to expect. It was a simple cleaning and x-rays appointment, but I liked that it was straightforward and she was very courteous throughout the process. Also, it is a nice change of pace not to be passed off to someone else like at the bigger dental offices. Most of my interaction was with her, which is good as it is important to build a strong relationship with your dentist. On a lighter note, there was no pop music playing in the background during my appointment. Just classical, which is a good thing. I still can't listen to SWV's "Weak" without thinking about my monthly dental brace appointments as a tween. read more

I got lucky after cracking a tooth that turned out to have had a growing cavity inside that caused it to weaken. Dr. Zhang's office managed to get me in to a full appointment in just a few days and she devoted full attention to getting my filling done perfectly and permanently! Dr. Zhang is one of the most meticulous dentists I've ever met. I've gone 29 years suspecting that I was a teeth grinder, but not a single dentist has ever confirmed this for me until I walked into Dr. Zhang's office believing I had a cavity. She took one look and knew right away that the source of the pain and sensitivity was actually from grinding and not due to a cavity, but she took several x-rays before she confirmed this fact. As I'm currently based in NYC, I'll be flying back to get my night guard fitted by her for sure. She also equipped me with some prescription high-fluoride toothpaste to strengthen my teeth against the strain. Dr. Zhang also cleaned my teeth extremely thoroughly -- and I stress extremely. She spent a good hour on my teeth. Honestly, with teeth this clean, I kind of have to up my dental hygiene game after this (read: I'll be flossing constantly). I highly recommend a visit. read more

Let me preface this by describing myself as a patient. As an adolescent, I seldom visited the dentist. I did not have the best dental hygiene, ate a lot of candy and acidic foods throughout the day, and never flossed (so much shame). When I visited Dr. Zhang for the first time, I was very embarrassed with my (lack of) dental hygiene. However, she was very friendly and caring. As a grown man in my mid-20s, I asked Dr. Zhang for a complete tutorial on how to properly brush and floss. She took the time to give me a re-education, clearly and concisely! I have been seeing Dr. Zhang for several years now. It's obvious that she genuinely cares about me as a patient and spends time (i.e. doesn't rush) to connect with me. The quality of dental work I've received from Dr. Zhang is top notch. (Unlike the procedures I received while I was out-of-state for grad school.) Dr. Zhang has been my dentist for the past 15 years. Thanks to her outstanding work, I have zero dental issue so far! She's kind, caring and patient, and is always thorough, professional in her work. Every teeth cleaning takes a good 40-60mins. Before that I've tried a couple of other dentists in Bellevue. In both cases, the dentists had the less experienced nurses do the teeth cleaning and only swing by in the last five minutes. The whole appointments lasted less than 30mins. I will give Zhang 0 star if I can. My husband was an old patient of Zhang and when I moved to Seattle, he referred me to Zhang. After my first visit, Zhang told me 4 of my teeth need some "serious treatment". For each tooth, the treatment would be around $2000. I was shocked since I had never had any pain or teeth problems. But anyways, we accepted her "theory" and started this nightmare. After several treatments, Zhang and her daughter(the front desk) asked us to deposit money($1500) before the following treatments because they were afraid our insurance will not cover all the cost. We were very confused since we had never been asked to do this in any other dental clinics and there was still nearly $1000 in our insurance. We tried to communicate with Zhang but she was so tough and insisted she would not continue the treatments until she got the deposit. This was so ridiculous. We did not owe her anything. I tried to communicate:" I trust you and that's why I am here..." she interrupted me and saying:" You should not have trusted me!" We were so shocked, the way she treated us like trash. She even said:" Do not bring you asian way here!" This is so racist and rude and she is asian as well! After she said this, we felt very offended and scared at her clinic. So we left ASAP. I was not sure if something terrible would happen to us. The whole thing was like a fraud, she kept asking us to deposit money in advance and I supposed there was high possibility that she was in some financial issue! Dr and her assistant are very professional. I have multiple dental problems and have all been solved perfectly. Fan and her assistant Teresa are very patient. I had a deep cavity which is very close to the nerve, and they did their best to preserve the nerve for me, and the filling is done perfectly. And I also had my remaining wisdom teeth removed before, it is a much nicer experience than other dentists I had before. My teeth were removed gently, and I don't even need to take pain killer afterwards. They sometimes also have discount that waive patient's share of payment! read more

Dr. Zhang is the great dentist I've ever met. My previous dentist is really bad, after he did deep cleaning for me, it's useless, he did nothing and wasted my deep cleaning which is covered by my insurance. Then I went to see Dr. Zhang, I learnt that what is called deep cleaning, she really did great job, and she also helps my family. And today I got great experience I've ever had in my life. She helped me remove wisdom teeth. Previously I removed 2 wisdom teeth, but the experience is really bad, it's very painful and I cannot eat food well for 7 days. But today, it's an amazing and wonderful experience. I was thinking when she would start to remove, she told me that it's done. Oh, my god, I didn't feel anything, no any pain. Let me rethink it, it just take few seconds to remove 2 teeth. You know, what's the result? It likes I didn't lost any teeth. My teeth still can eat any food as I want, no any swelling. Quite possibly the worst dental experience I've ever had. She must have fallen on hard times since her last reviews as her prices are astronomical. She would not quote me prices or even broad figures, and she would not show me my X-rays. She also was trying to get me to come in for procedures that weren't necessary or ficitonal.(Had this confirmed with another dentist). Seems like she really needs money. My appt was replacing an old filling I had when I was a child. The filling wasn't properly placed and there was air leaking through it allowing a pressure difference. I have had Dr. Zhang as my family dentist for 20 years since 1998. My son was 11 years old when I brought him to this place for his teeth cleaned. Now he is a married man and his entire family is seeing Dr. Zhang for their dental care. I am not sure why he has stayed with the Dr for so many years. To me though it is simple as 1, 2, 3... First, she is passionate in doing her job. You might be aware that she has a few of good healthy hobbies. When coming doing her job, she is energetic, skillful, and tireless in doing it over and over again. Second, she is responsible to her customers. I feel that she does the right thing to her penitents in either suggesting treatment or doing regular dental clean. She gurantes her job and takes response on the job even with myowe false. For any urgent issue, she is available beyond her official hours. Last but not least, Dr. Zhang pays attention to details and does each job seriously. I am always dreaded to go to dentist, just like most if not all of us. Dr. Zhang surely made it easier by her friendly manner and more importantly her experience. My wisdom teeth have been giving me trouble for quite a while, but I have been reluctant to have them pulled out, afraid of the tearing pain that I imagined. A week ago, I felt I can't put it off any more, so I setup an appointment, which was easy. When I shown up in her office, there was literally no wait. After taking the necessary x-ray (I am a new patient), Dr. Zhang decided to go ahead to remove the wisdom teeth, which was just what I hoped for. The operation was literally painless and quick. My wife and I went in for a cleaning and we will not be coming back. We just moved to the area and were looking for a new dentist. We went with Fan Zhang because she had convenient Saturday hours. When we first walked in, we were greeted with several narcissistic glamour photos of Fan Zhang in the front of the office. Needless to say, that's pretty weird for a professional medical practice. My wife went in first and after she was done, she was literally in tears and told me that we had to leave right now. We scooped up our kids and left. My wife and I get cleanings every 6 months and they are generally stress-free and pain-free. That was not the case. My wife's mouth was bleeding profusely and she was in enormous pain due to how rough she was. Fan Zhang said that the reason it hurts so much and that she's bleeding is because she needs a lot of dental work. My wife just got a cleaning 6 months ago and had no problems. Dentists who use guerrilla tactics in order to scare you into doing needless dental work to nickle and dime you are the worst and Fan Zhang is one of these types of dentists. We contacted Dr Zhang on Sunday morning. We were in such despair because of the severe toothache my husband was suffering, he had been putting ice cube on his tooth for hours only to ease the pain momentarily. We didn't think we could wait till Monday. We were so relieved when Dr Zhang returned our call and said she could see us immediately. It turned out my husband needed a tooth extraction, that bad tooth had caused deep infection hence the non-stopping pain. Dr Zhang performed the procedure right away, neat and well done in my eyes, and my husband was saved from hell! So, we got our peaceful Sunday afternoon back! Dr Zhang even texted us in the evening to check in, by then my husband could live his life as normal and with the help of Dr Zhang's prescription, he almost forgot he had that terrible toothache.
