They have Golf practice, climbing wall and a batting cage. Collin who helped me with my selection for the World Cup merchandise was very nice ! I had just a little time before they closed and he was willing to pick what I needed and what size and have everything ready for me all I had to do is pay for it when I got to the cashiers desk. He was accommodating and had asked special permission to have the special merchandise ready for me I was surprised how everything ready so I didn't have to sort through dozens of shirts and not find what I was looking for. It was the easiest shopping ever. I will definitely return to this location!

I went to this local location on Saturday I have spent thousands of dollars in this particular…read morestore while shopping I had to use the restroom and to my surprise it was very very nasty. I would think with all the sales this location brings in they would keep the restrooms more appropriate for customers and clean restrooms more often because there was no way I was using that restroom so I left without purchasing my items because I needed to use restroom. Academy you need to do better as this is unacceptable P.S I noticed I put this Review on the Kennesaw location the accurate location is here in Cartersville, Georgia

Great selection! Too bad it will never get to your home…read more AS+O promised the delivery of a very important item to my house by last Thursday. When it didn't come, I figured it was a simple mistake because "We promise it will be there by Thursday at 1PM, here's an email with tracking info to prove it!" sounds almost identical to "Yeah, we're really not trying to get this to your house by the time your party starts and we are terrible and we hate you." So I figured I might have just heard them wrong. But, nope, the tracking number backed what I thought I heard. So Saturday morning when it still had not arrived, my wife called them. Did they correct the problem? No. What we heard over the phone was an AS+O employee insinuating that it was somehow our fault it had not been delivered-OUR fault for believing the associate who had apparently just straight up lied to us about the delivery time-, no apology, and news that it would be delivered the following Tuesday (today) between 1-6PM, well after the party and birthday for which we had selected and purchased our gift. So, right now it is 6:30 on Tuesday- the very Tuesday during which it was supposed to have been delivered between 1-6PM. I hope AS+O Cartersville owns a DeLorean, because our item is still not here. UPDATE: The ping pong table arrived an hour after this post. The box was ripped wide open from one side to the other. Clearly the integrity of our package had been compromised. We sent it back. Called AS+O, they again tried to explain how their shipping works to me in a condescending manner instead of making things right. We will never (NEVER!) shop here again. Not even if there's a plague and the only cure is a combination of sporting goods and terrible service. Plague me.

This was one of the most unprofessional and humiliating experiences I've ever had. I came in for an…read moreexchange, placed my original items on the counter, I had to do that because the return had to add up to the total since they don't do refunds. While finalizing my purchase, another customer walked off with my bag. I called the store from the parking lot when I realized. The staff admitted they saw it on camera and was going to look for the person in the mall. Called me back and said he couldn't find them. I had to prompt him to ask how they were going rectify it. The "owner " is in the background and says tell her it's your birthday and you need to leave. The young man told me that and that the owner would call back. I asked was he calling me back immediately. He said yes and hung up. Well he never did and he wasn't going to. So I walked in. I met the owner in the store and he met me with aggravation. The owner, instead of offering help, accused me of "pressuring" him just because I needed the situation resolved immediately. I was leaving town for a game which was the whole reason I was there in the first place. It also seemed as though he was insinuating that I wasn't being honest. Telling me they gave me a bag and receipt. Which turn out it was only the new items not the original ones I didn't want to exchange. I remained calm but firm and just asked for basic accountability. Yet he kept tell me I needed to calm down and told me I was threatening him by telling him I was going to have to call the police if this wasn't handled. Sir, that's not a threat. That s what people do when people steal their things !!!! The owner tried to dismiss me, denied the obvious evidence, disregarded his own employee who looked at the footage and called another person to pull up the cameras because he didn't know how. The person over the phone saw the man take the bag. He argued with him saying he did ask that customer and he said "no" as if people don't lie!!!!! Only after the person over the phone doubled down that the bag was indeed taken and described the person did they finally admit the truth. He then asked me what items was I missing and I had to say.... You should start this conversation by offering an apology. No customer should be treated like they're a nuisance, especially when they're the one wronged. I had to witness the owner apologize to other customers about me, as if I was causing a scene when all I wanted was my belongings back. In the end, the footage confirmed exactly what I said all along. If I could have done a refund I would have taken every single item back ! If this store wants loyalty, they need to start by believing their customers and treating people with basic respect. I wouldn't wish this treatment on anyone. I will never spend a dime in this place ever again. I'll drive to Chattanooga to get my Tennessee gear from now on

On my last visit, I was lucky enough to experience their 40% off already reduced clearance sale and they had some items for my preteen for his current size & his next size up in styles/brands he likes. I have NEVER gotten such great prices in an Academy store, outside of the occasional clearance shoe. I was also able to use a store coupon for my son's baseball equipment which helped us save an additional 20% off his needs for the spring season. The staff was friendly & patient as I leveraged my coupon at check out and if I had any questions while shopping. I also appreciated their price check scanners to help me verify totals when selecting items. On a previous visit, we were able to score some nice basketball shoes that were reduced as well. With this in mind, I like to come in and browse from time to time because I never know what I will find. Some days we don't find much and others we find great deals. I like this location.

I get to the register I had a gift card from a promo they had and it was virtual so I thought it would be in the app. The cashiers know nothing about the app. I asked for a manager for assistance and everyone just looked dumb or def. Eventually right before they locked the doors I found what I need via the app with no help from the unknowlegable staff. The store is neat so I dont know what they really do there. They need to be doing more. Customer Service sucks.

I am a huge Georgia Bulldogs football fan, so you can imagine how excited and happy I've been since…read morethey dethroned the mighty Alabama Crimson Tide by a score of 33-18 and won the college football national championship on January 10. Even though it's been a month since then, I still feel like I'm dreaming. But the reality is my Dawgs are the champions of college football. Since the victory, I've purchased a banner commemorating Georgia's championship season and another banner for the Atlanta Braves' World Series championship last October. But I bought those from the Fanatics.com website. I only recently found out about The Fans Wear. I discovered it by accident as I was in the Mall at Peachtree Center food court. It's a small sports fan store near the Chick-Fil-A. It's very colorful and well lit on the inside. When I stopped by today (February 11, 2022), there was a television broadcasting the Winter Olympics. You can find just about anything representing the major local sports teams (Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United, University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Georgia State), from hoodies, banners, collectibles, t-shirts, jackets, hats, book bags, etc., but they also have other teams as well. I was laser focused on finding a commemorative plaque representing Georgia's national championship season. I'd seen some online, but I didn't feel like ordering and waiting for it to come in the mail. The Fans Wear had the exact same plaques that I saw on the Fanatics.com website. A beautiful varsity-style black and white Georgia Bulldogs jacket that I'd never seen before caught my eye, but it cost more than I was willing to spend right then. The prices at this store are a little higher than what I saw on the Fanatics.com website. For instance, the commemorative Georgia plaque I ended up purchasing cost $99.99 there, but on the Fanatics website it just got marked down to $79.99. Still, after taxes and shipping, I probably would've paid the same price ordering it online. I bought a Georgia magnet for my refrigerator that would've cost $7 online but the vendor let me have it for only $5. With taxes, I spent a total of $114.33 for the plaque and magnet. I am pleased with my purchases and plan on coming back soon. The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars are the prices and the fact that this store doesn't stay open late. Its hours of operation are 10am - 6pm, Monday - Saturday. Like most stores and restaurants in the Mall at Peachtree Center, the majority of their customers are people who work at the many high-rise offices in the area and the tourists staying at the nearby hotels. It's in a convenient location near the Peachtree Center Marta transit station. If you have money to spend and love sports, you'll enjoy it here.
