By my second loop, the school groups had arrived and the energy shifted from calm exploration to lively chaos. The Biodome itself is massive, divided into five distinct ecosystems. One moment you're wrapped in tropical warmth, the next you're stepping into a colder, northern world. It's like walking through climates instead of hallways. Location is another win. It's right outside Viau Station, making it incredibly easy to reach. What other zoo can you happily walk around in snow pants and see beautiful animals when it's absolutely freezing outside?! It was not even crowded and all the animals are active. They have such a wide range of amazing animals such as elephants, giraffes, lemurs, monkeys, leopards, moles, birds, tigers, lions, red pandas, kangaroos, turtles hippos, bats and beyond! You can have the opportunity to feed and ride horses and goats! They are incredibly friendly and will rub against you and follow your children; they're ridiculously hilarious and don't care about personal space. So affectionate! In the summer you can have the water park and other amenities, but the winter time we had so much fun! The mascots will have dance parties and greet you! They're so much fun! Also they speak French and English here! Also don't forget to stop by the gift shop OMG THEY HAVE EVERYTHING! The best gift shop ever and I bought my favorite lemur stuffed animal!! It was a super time, even though not all the animals in the park come in close proximity to your vehicle. The park provides English and French FM radio narrations with interesting details accompanying you while advancing along the car trail. My family had been here 11 years before, but the last trip I made to a place like this was NJ's Jungle Habitat in my teens. They knew to bring along bags of carrots, since you can feed certain animals. (If you don't BYOC, i.e., "Bring Your Own Carrots," you can buy them there.) You're mostly limited to deer type animals and discouraged from feeding males, since it's mating season. That being said, the male deer seemed docile and everyone disregarded that instruction. (Of course, do so at your own risk!) With different habitats, there were wild boar, bears, white wolves, caribou, to name a few - but we didn't feed these. The park staff does keep those all well fed. An Alpine Ibex did approach our car, eager for carrots. We did bypass the petting zoo portion, due to adjacent parking lots being full. While I would have enjoyed looping around a 2nd time, the others were frustrated with the traffic and decided it was time. Even though we tried to avoid the peak times, it seemed that wasn't the case. Definitely, Parc Omega is a wonderful experience, more engaging than a zoo. It's especially great fun for kids of all ages!!!

The animals include rabbits, ducks, chickens, goats, alpacas, a small cow and even some wild pigs. They also have a friendly dog named Ava that greets you as you walk in the farm. Tickets are $14 per person and free for children 2 and younger. Totally worthwhile, as it's a pretty immersive experience and you're surrounded by tons of animals. The animals are friendly and not aggressive. The staff was also friendly and helpful. I would definitely wear some boots to the farm (especially if it's rained recently) and follow the directions on their website to find the farm.

Right when you walk onto the farm you're greeted by their gorgeous friendly dog Ava surrounded by a pond filled with chirpy ducks. You'll probably feel right at home here, as I did. For a reasonable fee, you can have a guided tour of the rabbits, goats, alpacas, and a free running miniature cow and miniature horses! Yes you can feed them! Some tips: 1) you must chop the food into bite sizes for the alpacas! 2) No cucumbers 3) No loose plastic bags. So, it's best to bring your food ready to feed the animals in a bag. Make sure you watch small children as the goats can be energetic when eating. Yes, you're in the enclosure with them right in the middle of the action! They also offer volunteer opportunities to the public a few times a year. I didn't find it too muddy but wear outdoor shoes just in case. Bring some hand wipes as I'm not sure if there's a hand washing station.

Weird as this place has so many reviews on Google Maps…read more Interestingly I was on my way to a much larger, more generic farm which happens to be a bit further down the street.. we accidentally ended up here due to an Apple Maps fail and didn't realize until we left and drove past the "zoo" that we had originally planned on going to when we realized our serendipity! This apple orchard/farm is definitely under the radar (this is the 1st review on Yelp and it's been open for a while) We went apple picking here late in the season. We basically had the entire place to ourselves. It was relaxing and enjoyable ... "unfortunately" no kiddie rides or bells and whistles but sometimes it's nice to just enjoy nature. The apples are organic which is a nice plus! When I first tasted the different varietals of apples I was turned off as they were too tart. Weeks later, I finally remembered all the apples in my fridge and decided to try them again and WOW they were the best apples I've ever tasted! I guess they weren't fully ripe yet or they needed to "breathe" a little. No clue what happened but the apples were darn good, I didn't dare waste them on applesauce! Avoid the "zoo" across the street, go here and support the organic folks. They also had a few hidden speakers in the orchard, playing music to the apple trees so they will be happy.

4 Museums in one area around the Olympic Stadium…read more We were there the first week of April 2024 going to see the eclipse. Took the subway to the Olympic Stadium. Around here are the Jardin Botanique, Insectarium, Biodome and Planetarium. Spent about 2 hours at the Insectarium. The first part is an indoor display of deceased butterflies mounted on displays. The second part is an enclosed butterfly greenhouse where live butterflies are free to fly all around visitors. Similar to the New Orleans insectarium which I reviewed earlier. The Jardin Botanique was closed for the season as there was snow on the ground, and would not open until May. Likewise the Chinese and Japanese tea gardens were closed.

I went when I was a kid and even back then I thought it was bad, I went back as an adult to see if it has improved - it hasn't.
