    One of the lion enclosures

I planned a trip to with summer camp to Papanack zoo and it's safe to say that it wasn't the most pleasant experience. The place looks rundown and a bit tired. However the enclosure for the animals is what surprised me the most. The enclosure for the lions looked a bit too small while other zoos keep them in bigger and higher quality enclosures. The lemur enclosure was nice but the kangaroo enclosure was really small. The monkey enclosure was small and run down. Monkeys that come from Africa are usually found in big rain forest with many trees which means that they are used to big trees and big habits. The raccoon and porcupine enclosure were small. There was like 6 raccoons in one small sized enclosure. But I liked the bear and goat enclosure due to there big size.

It was a super time, even though not all the animals in the park come in close proximity to your vehicle. The park provides English and French FM radio narrations with interesting details accompanying you while advancing along the car trail. My family had been here 11 years before, but the last trip I made to a place like this was NJ's Jungle Habitat in my teens. They knew to bring along bags of carrots, since you can feed certain animals. (If you don't BYOC, i.e., "Bring Your Own Carrots," you can buy them there.) You're mostly limited to deer type animals and discouraged from feeding males, since it's mating season. That being said, the male deer seemed docile and everyone disregarded that instruction. (Of course, do so at your own risk!) With different habitats, there were wild boar, bears, white wolves, caribou, to name a few - but we didn't feed these. The park staff does keep those all well fed. An Alpine Ibex did approach our car, eager for carrots. We did bypass the petting zoo portion, due to adjacent parking lots being full. While I would have enjoyed looping around a 2nd time, the others were frustrated with the traffic and decided it was time. Even though we tried to avoid the peak times, it seemed that wasn't the case. Definitely, Parc Omega is a wonderful experience, more engaging than a zoo. It's especially great fun for kids of all ages!!!

Be sure to get atleast 2 bags of carrots to get through the route. While staying at the lodge can be expensive, observing the wolves at such close range is a surreal experience. Overall, had a great time. Highly recommend checking it out.

There is a train ride and an antique farm equipment museum as well! Inside the main building is a puppet show and a cafe with a gift shop. This is a great place for all ages!

This place has been around forever, but I had never visited until last week. We didn't have a…read morereservation and just did a walk-in. I went with my toddler, who's two years old, and anyone over two pays the same price. I paid about $27 with tax for the both of us. They accept debit and credit. I found it expensive, but we had a good time and it's not a regular thing for us. If you'd like to go more often, they also have a Frequent Visitors Loyalty Program that includes 10 visits for the price of eight. You pay at the kiosk and then open the wooden gate to enter, but it swings back so it took me a couple of tries with the stroller before I did sort of a wheelie with it to use the front wheels to push the gate open. The farm has a park and play structures, play areas and photo ops, a tractor ride, a few picnic areas, little shop, and washrooms. They also have different farm animals, like goats you could feed, chickens, and sheep, as well as a pheasant, deers, and a couple of peacocks. There were definitely more animals, but my little guy was actually more into the park part so we didn't get to see all of the animals. There are also random statues of jungle animals that confused me, like zebras and giraffes, but my little one enjoyed the couple of statues of monkeys with hats at the front that you can sit on and take pictures with. One of the slides has one of those wooden suspension bridges and it's actually quite steep to get up, but has a big slide to go down that can fit both kids and adults. My guy did not wanna leave this one, especially after working so hard to climb up the bridge to get to the slide! Luckily, this is the kind of place where no one judges you for your children having tantrums and needing to leave kicking and screaming lol Definitely bringing actual food instead of snacks next time, and plan to spend more time here, maybe a few hours instead of one or two. Lots to see and do! I'd also love to try the tractor ride. It only runs every couple of hours but the first one was full and the next one went into nap time so we didn't get the chance to ride it.
