But alas we were grouped with beginners, which meant the most boring horseback ride ever. No trotting, no galloping. We had experienced these from previous rides elsewhere, we were hoping for more liberty. This was more of a cattle drive than a horseback ride. I could of fallen asleep if not for the fall scenery was awesome. The staff on the other hand are really knowledgeable and nice. I wouldn't suggest you go there unless you are a first time beginner. I wanted to enroll in puppy kindergarten and was glad to learn that the registration is on going. You can start at any date and will get 5 lessons of 1 hour. On his first day, Bodhi got to meet with Alana & Roxanne, the trainers, and was right at home. We were shown the proper way to have dogs greet and moved to the hall where the training happens. The training hall is large and clean. The classes have a nice flow and are very interactive. You also get to interact with other dogs. There is a small break halfway through the class. Alana is very knowledgable and Roxanne gives your dog the extra attention that they sometime need. The Ottawa Canine School also has a day care including a one just for small dogs on Thursdays. Bodhi loved his experience and since he was already familiar with the settings because of puppy kindergarten, he was immediately comfortable. The only downside that I would like to point out is that you have to reserve/cancel in advance as there is no walk-ins. I would recommend both the classes and the day care and not to hesitate to contact them if you have any questions.

Not to mention that when my dog tried to PLAY (GASP!) at the PLAY DATE, she wouldn't cease following him around everywhere he went and giving the whole family looks, instead of approaching us with any concerns/letting us explain my dogs noisy and energetic ways. From the moment we walked in we all felt judged and considered leaving early after being told that we couldn't use some agility equipment because we were making my dog jump "too high" (maybe 3/4 of a foot?) while we were just testing out what he would be like. I was highly considering taking Timber there for some agility classes because the facility really is gorgeous, welcoming and well-kept but FAT CHANCE now. I have no doubt that their TRAINING would be fine, but this experience absolutely ruined it for me. Such a terrible waste of my $20.

The owner has great ideas, however they have not progressed. There are so many ideas on the go that none seem to get to completion. In my opinion, the barn is filthy with sheep droppings all over - and despite many efforts on my (and others) part to get it cleaned up, it just keeps progressing back to filth. In all fairness to the farmer, there have been issues with flooding which have posed challenges to cleanliness. However, that's only a portion of the year, and doesn't explain the remainder. It's primarily a sheep farm - though the sheep have dwindled. It also has some horses, as the owner is a horse fan. The farm is intended to be a family based farm-tourism spot, with a Christian base. I personally find the amount of swearing going on is not conducive to family atmosphere. (Neither is the level of dirt.) I also have some concerns with the appropriateness of some of the social media posts that are made, and their suitability for a family audience and with some of the decisions that are made around what is appropriate guidance and what isn't. (The girls are there for horseback riding - lets keep it at that level.) As far as riding goes, I have some concerns about safety issues. They run a pony club, which I think is a lot of fun for the younger crowd and appropriately supervised. Older kids are given a lot of unsupervised freedom, which may or may not be a good thing - depends on the rider. Location wise, it's great - close to the Walkle exit of the 417. Would I return: I have in the past, but will not in the future. Would I recommend: Not at this time. The property has great potential for development for agri-tourism serving Ottawa. I hope it happens!

We have been bringing our dogs here for several years now. At first we were having a hard time finding a place that understood how to work with our Rotti. But as soon as we brought her to Keshet everything clicked. Debbie made us feel very confident and relaxed that our dog would be well taken care of and loved. Our Rotti clicked instantly with the staff and was very happy. Staff is great. We love getting the email post cards while we are away showing our dogs having fun. This is the best place in the Ottawa area for large breed dogs. A lot of room on the grounds for the larger dogs to move around and get exercise. Large, clean rooms for the dogs. Keshet gets from me.

This is easily the best off leash park close to downtown. Far away from any traffic, this peninsula…read morestretches into the Rideau River, and provides ample room to chase balls, sticks, and other dogs, who come here in droves. Easily one of the more popular parks in the area, in the summertime it's not uncommon to see 20-30 dogs here at peak times, between 4 and 6pm, later when the summer sun is up late. Lots of regulars, and friendly people/dogs Even though the rules clearly block off the water from dog access, there's a gravel beach where dogs will swim and frolic in the water, seemingly without impunity. It seems to be a tolerated access point, and I've never had anyone have any issues in the 4 years I've used this park. Only issue I have ever had is with sharing the neighbouring bike path with cyclists. Many hardcore riders use this path, and can get upset when they are doing 60kph past the dog area and animals wonder into the lanes. Plenty of on street parking on Stanley Avenue, and also near the children's park at the east end of Stanley. Make sure to leash your dog from this lot and along the access path until you get out in the open.

Since I live right pretty well on the border of Rockcliffe Park, I often go walking there. It is…read morereally nice to walk by all the different residences of ambassadors. Not only are the houses huge, but they seem to have lots of character of the countries that they represent. People in the neighbourhood are always friendly and greet eachother when passing. There are always plenty of people out walking their dogs, cycling and jogging. The neighbourhood is really safe and I have gone walking at night on several occasions without any problems.

This is a wonderful route to follow, especially if you can find a time when it is not busy with cars. I went out on March 7th around 1pm, and it was lovely. The air was crisp, and there were no cars. The view along the river is breathtaking, and offers several opportunities to venture off the road and shore. The whole parkway is about 22km one-way, and there seemed to be a gentle slope. The actual parkway road is decent, however the surround streets you use to access it are ridden with potholes. I would suggest bringing your bike to one of the parking lots in the park and setting out from there. I am sure it can only get lovelier as the weather gets warmer, and the festivals and tourists dots the landscape. From my understanding the parkway is heavily used by cyclists in the summer, this is comforting. Also, I found drivers passing me on the road gave me a lot of room. I will definitely keep riding this route, and return once the snow clears to explore the park! The only downside to cycling, is the actual parkway is not very long. You could do the stretch multiple times but your passing the same scenery which is boring. Once the parkway ends the roads get considerably more busy.

I was a bit disappointed with the fact that for our "practice shots" we only got to shoot one arrow and then we went directly to the game field. Anyone who isn't familiar with archery or hasn't done archery would find this difficult compared to the skilled players. The arrows have a soft foam tip so that it doesn't hurt too much if you get hit. Unless you're a big enough group, you end up playing with other players in the game field (think: laser tag games). It got pretty sweaty under the helmet that's mandatory to wear, and as someone with sensitive skin, it made my face quite itchy. Overall, it's a fun experience, especially if you're with friends or family!

Good but was a lot of fun and was fair and took pity when someone got out fast he let them back in. I got hit in the face and he made sure I was okay! A lot of our team was late to arrive and the other staff did an excellent job at teaching them off to. The side so they could join in! I would highly recommend this place, it's a lot of cardio but super fun so doesn't seem like it!
