    BLT Club

Out and about in Vermont doing the tourist thing checking out covered bridges and finding ourselves hungry, and discover this place. It's the kind of place you see in a movie with a home town Americana feel. I asked if food was available and was directed to a deli counter to the rear of the store. I was enamored by the bread selection and ordered a BLT Club on sourdough. OMG. The bacon carried through with crunch and a such a wonderful smoke. Tremendous. That coupled with Boars Head Turkey breast, mayo and crisp lettuce. What a find

New York style pizza with incredibly tasty fennel. Staff and owners are pleasant, professional and fun. Photo bomb the pizza!

I'd like to point out the top two items that stand out at the Falls General Store which demonstrate the new establishment's incredible appeal: 1. The authentic Italian Cannoli and; 2. The incredible specialty-spiced Vermont breakfast sausage. When was the last time you found a good cannoli in Vermont? Let me tell you, this traditional dessert is a rare treat in rural locations. On the other end of the culinary spectrum you'll find the *best* spiced breakfast sausage since my grandmother made it fresh on the farm. The spiced sausage is traditionally served with Vermont maple syrup, providing a spicy/sweet morning start. Not spicy-hot, mind you. Flavors of sage, marjoram and thyme fill your mouth with a bright, refreshing start to your day. It's worth a one-hour trip to tiny Northfield, Vermont just to taste this classic, rarely found homespun recipe. 5 Stars to the Falls General Store's daily menus. Located next to three of Vermont's historic covered bridges, it is a must-visit for tourists and a welcome, regular culinary experience for locals.

    Outstanding pepperoni pizza!

My grandson and I were touring Lake Champlain and heading back to Massachusetts. We stopped here because a local person said they had great pizza. They were right!! This was a general grocery store that also make OUTSTANDING pizza and all of their own baked goods and pastries! We were SOOOO happy we stopped to get a pepperoni pizza and leave with some pastries for the ride home. The staff are friendly and helpful and the cook came out to see how the pizza was - we gladly told him that it was excellent!

I stumbled on this charming, renovated General Store that has a Vermont feel but definitely the quality of an up scale place like Balducci's in NYC, or City Market. Everything here is homemade, including the Mayo and the ketchup which is pretty impressive. All the stocks are made from scratch, and most of the food is organic, there are proteins our local as well. As a chef, I can't say enough about quality of the food here. Also the portions are very large, I could make two to three meals out of them easily. After trying several different soups...yum...and a couple of their specials....delicious... I had to try the pizza because I was skeptical. Coming from NYC I'm a little bit of a pizza snob, but it turns out the owners of from there too, so they are serious about their pie. Homemade pizza dough, San Marzano tomatoes, high-quality cheese, thin crust, it did not disappoint. I wish this place was closer to my house in Connecticut, I'd be there every week. Bon Appetit everyone check it out! That's the pastry chef coming out with Gorgeous homemade Christmas cookies, I had the gingerbread it was spectacular!!!

Food was amazing. Always love stopping here when we come up to Vermont. Very friendly workers.

Amazing service and amazing food cooked to perfection. We're from North Carolina and try to stop in every time we're up. Thanks for your hospitality.

Thank Goodness central Vermont has this gem! They have ice cream, deli selection, prepared salads and espresso coffee drinks. They have organic health and beauty products as well and beer.

One of 2 covered bridges and a horse farm 200 yards from the store!

More akin to a breakfast panini, the gooey fluffy egg and cheese, crunchy bacon, and bright onions were perfectly supported by two slices of crunchy, crusty toasted sourdough. Such great flavor! The iced maple latte was a bit on the sweet side but still very much enjoyed it. TBD on the scone, but judging by how busy it was, it is gonna be great! Service: Friendly group passionate about what they do! Ambiance: Small town, comfortable bakery where I assume all the netizens gather.

It's always been busy when I've gone, but wait times aren't very long and the staff is pleasant. Needless to say, I got home and inhaled my turkey on a baguette. The only thing I think is a little bit of a bummer is the lack of more "traditional" topping options. I like my sandwiches with lettuce, tomato, and onion. The cafe does not offer tomatoes and only has pickled onions. Would be nice to have a little more choice when building your own sandwich. That said, I'm still a big fan and would get food from there again in a heartbeat.

This place was on our way to our first destination this morning and we said screw it, let's give a try, Ooof!! we would've have a better tasty breakfast at McDonald's for half the cost. Yep!! This place is actually really pricey for the quality of food you get here. I ordered the egg, cheese sandwich on a biscuit (because we always like to try the local restaraunt's biscuits) and I added their maple sausage. I wanted to get an almond croissant as well until I saw a fly in the pastry cabinet just have his way on all the pastries. NOPE!! This was probably one of the worse breakfast sandwiches I have ever had to date. The biscuit itself was hard as a rock, dry and crumbled upon touch. It was lousy as heck. The maple sausage was a thick patty, but small, almost like a quarter size round compared to the size of the biscuit. So for what sandwich and a cup of coffee was around $23. Heck no! Was that even worth it with how bad inflation is these days Not sure how they have such high ratings, but just be warned. You're welcome!
