You just pay and walk in. No chairs or benches to change into you swim suit. I just dropped trou in the bathroom and changed out. There is limited seating around the pool. The swimming pool is small but there was room enough for everyone there that day. They have a nice water slide for adults and bigger kids. They also had a little slide for the younger kids. There were plenty enough lifeguards around and warned kids when they were playing unsafe in or around the pool. The also have a little snack shack that sells ice cream, hot dogs, and other snacks. The price was cheap. I don't think they're trying to make money off people. Seems like they just want people to be happy. If I ever felt the need to take a dip in a pool, I'd go there again. Beats swimming in the irrigation canals or ditches. I don't think anyone does that anymore.

Mosquitoes were hatching. This time of the year the water was high.... Fallon side had clean beaches, plenty of trash receptacles and clean restrooms. You can camp on the beaches or in the developed areas. Boat ramps are available or you can launch off of the beach. Beware of the sand!! Make sure you bring plenty of water and ice. No close stores.

Water levels are lower than I remember, but it was nice to take a trip down memory lane. Every Summer, my parents drove their RV and I watched from the top bunk. My brothers and I could never stay in our seats. My parents never knew what we were up to. We always booked the same block of camping sites and we invited three other family's every year. The old tires swings on the cottonwood trees were always a hit with us kids and staying up late catching June bugs, telling scary stories around a campfire and roasting marshmallows for smores. It was cool showing my kids where my parents brought us camping.

When we pulled in to enter there are signs saying that you have to pay for a weekly pass which is $40 or an annual pass which is $90 but there is no option for day use. Serendipitously, we happened through on a Tuesday which for some reason is free. Although that didn't make much sense to me, I needed to use the restrooms so we headed in. As other reviews have mentioned the roads are terrible and it's not just the bumpy pothole mess that you come to get used to in this area of the country, it's steep drop-offs from semi-paved gravel roads to dirt roads That will definitely damage your car if you are not paying attention and driving very slowly. We pulled in as far as we could and there were lots of people with trucks and trailers that had ATVs and dirt bikes. There was also a lot of garbage everywhere and when I tried to use the restroom it was flooded and full of flies. We checked out the dunes and left. I can see how the people who are really into off-roading might find it worth it to come here especially if they come a lot and they have an annual pass but for passersby or people who are just in the area, it's definitely not worth the $40.

That might be legal, but it sure isn't ethical. My contract was with FF10, with a different pricing model and a different set of amenities. They've broken their end of the agreement, but refuse to release me from mine. Staff keep repeating that new equipment is "coming," but it's been all talk and no action. If you're considering joining, don't fall for the promises. What you see is what you get--old equipment, overcrowding, stripped-down services, and zero accountability. This is classic bait-and-switch. Do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere.

My 300th review!!!…read more Water in the middle of the desert? No, wait, a wetland habitat in the middle of the desert? This must be a mirage! Nope, if you've found your way out to Stillwater National Wildlife Refuge, that's definitely water you're seeing, along with all sorts of shorebirds, herons, egrets, ducks, owls, hawks and other wildlife coming in for a bit of respite from the harsh environment around it. With most of these types of areas, my first question is always about the quality of the roads used to get around. The roads are all gravel once inside the refuge, but I can tell you that at Stillwater, in dry conditions, a car is perfectly fine. There are no dips or divots in the road a car can't handle, and definitely no clearance issues. Even when the roads are wet, there really isn't an issue. As a national refuge, this is a federally managed wetland project designed to provide habitat and attract and sustain wetland species in Northern Nevada. For birdwatchers, this place can be paradise, with several species calling the area home. The refuge has a great walking trails that take you into some unique habitat, and give you opportunities to see the diversity of wildlife in the area. I've seen all sorts of birds, as well as deer, coyotes, and more. If you have a non-motorized boat, paddling through some of the larger ponds can be a great way to spend an afternoon. They even have overnight campgrounds that are suitable for tents or RVs. I've been coming to Stillwater for the past few years, and with the drought conditions throughout the state, this place has definitely suffered. To put it in perspective, last year there were 3 large areas holding water, and in 2014 they're down to one. I'm hopeful we have a great winter that brings a lot of precipitation that will help replenish our water supply. We all know we need it!

I prefer lots of trees myself, of which there were very few. However it was VERY beautiful and we did enjoy it. There was also a wildlife viewing platform that allowed you to look out on the marshes. The bathrooms were impeccable for the "porta-potty/outhouse" type that most parks have. Talk about clean! wow! It wasn't to terribly hot in November when we went but PLEASE bring water with you, you'll want it. A jacket too if it's in the Winter months.

Once she started, our daughter fell ill consistently, missing out on the learning experience we had hoped for. What added to the frustration was the lack of incentive for parents to keep sick kids home. The preschool's policy of charging full price regardless of attendance meant that many parents sent their sick children after administering fever-reducing meds. Despite a staff member contracting COVID-19, the promised changes to drop-off protocols never materialized. We were essentially paying $180 a week to Ivy Land to 'hold the spot,' even when our daughter was sick four out of five days. This left us home sick, without a paycheck, and questioning the value of the preschool. When I raised these concerns with the staff and to the owner through their messaging system, instead of addressing the issues, I was met with a withdrawal form the next time I walked in. When we wanted a short break before Christmas vacation due to our 90-year-old grandparents' health concerns, and that we couldn't bring illnesses with us or they could die, we were met with laughter instead of understanding. Many preschools offer discounted rates for sick or vacation time, but Ivy Land seemed indifferent. They will cite their contract when faced with morality. When I readdressed the illness issue, the owner explained how it's normal for kids to get sick, told me to "google it", and that they hold their temperature records for 7 years (although she knows these numbers are manipulated). It may be normal for kids to be sick under their care, but our daughter has not been sick since leaving. We were too sick at Christmas to go anywhere, except we did go to the Urgent Care and ER for a strep infection; we should have taken that withdrawal form. Moreover, our daughter's time at Ivy Land was marred by bad behavior and inappropriate incidents. She complained about frequent harassment in the bathroom by a boy, sand-throwing, pushing, and someone defecating on the toy pirate ship. Where were the teachers? Why were some of these things able to happen at all? We were also unaware of an aggressive breed rescue dog with social and anxiety issues frequenting the premises. Has the state approved this? Is it really appropriate to socialize an anxious dog around babies and preschool children? Lastly, the $90 late payment fee for a weekly payment structure felt excessive and unreasonable. It all culminated in a disheartening experience that fell far short of our expectations for a nurturing and supportive learning environment.

There were people out playing softball, kids and their dad out fishing and a couple running their dog. Weather was warm and aweome. Right off the 95 highway with lots of parking. The pond is stocked with trout so makes for easy catches.
