But if you know what to look for you can find quality stuff for great prices... case in point - I found 6 James Perse mens v-necks for $3 each. Near perfect condition. New price is $105 each. My kids love this place too. They are teens and go on their own to find fun new outfits without breaking the bank. I concur there is some overpriced furniture and decorations, but they also frequently have 50-75% off sales which can make those things a better value. Staff is always helpful and friendly too. Bottom line - Good values on a bunch of stuff and room for improvement on others. But a great addition to our community.

For that reason, I have recommended donating to St. Vincent's for years and continue to do so. Unfortunately, after I made a large donation, the manager went off on me for several minutes for asking a question that most people would have asked in the situation. She carried on loudly until I wordlessly retreated and disengaged completely. I wasn't given a receipt, and I now feel I have to take the batches I'm organizing for fall donations to another location out of town or another charity in Fallbrook. Everyone else I've encountered when shopping at St. Vincents' or making donations there has been very professional and kind. I have to assume that good experiences are the norm. I'd recommend dealing with the front-line staff as I've never had problems with any of them.

The DONATION CENTER is located in the back of the Salvation Army store. It was our first time…read morecoming to this Salvation Army location. We were actually referred to by Goodwill. Goodwill said to come here to drop off mattresses... WHEN YOU ARRIVE you have to drive around the cones and wait at the STOP SIGN until the car in front of you has has been helped... SUNDAY AFTERNOON: There was only one car in front of us! When it was our turn: a young man said WE DON'T ACCEPT MATTRESSES. It was a foldable TWIN MATTRESS. It seemed like he just wanted us to not donate anything here. Another older guy came out to confirm the same thing. I asked if they accept pillows and blankets and they said YES! I'm not sure if it's because it's TEMECULA but, I recall going to another Salvation Army in Pasadena and the people there were really friendly and welcoming! Mostly seniors or veterans... DONATE AT YOUR OWN RISK FOLKS!!! Just think of the greater good you're doing!!!!

But my favorite thrift stores are the ones that feel like you're sifting through piles of junk -- that's where you find the treasures. So, this orderly and clean store was not exactly my cup of tea. But I'm giving it four stars because I'm pretty sure the majority of people will find their shopping experience here very satisfying. They sell lots of clothing here! Women's clothes, men's clothes, children's clothes, shoes, handbags, accessories and the like. There is also a small home goods section, with lots of knickknacks and frames and things like that. It's also very quiet in the store, which is nice. There's nothing worse than pawing through used clothes and having to listen to Peter Gabriel blasting over the speakers.
