The only building left standing in the town! Cute and homey. Not only did we rent a room, but we grabbed a bite to eat at the restaurant too. The rent a room, you see the barkeep and are handed a physical key. Then you either walk through the courtyard to climb the steps to the top of the building for your suit, or you traverse through the maze of doors inside. Both are interesting and exciting. It was either 80 some odd dollars for a quaint room with a full (I think), or $100 or so for the valley view suite which includes a queen, a living room/kitchen, and a spare with a twin. Definitely old in style but enjoyable. When you're ready, you can head on down to the bar or restaurant. We split an appetizer of fried mushrooms/zucchini, a salad, prime rib with loaded baked potato, mixed veggies, and an extra side of mashed potatoes. There was enough for leftovers and the bill was about as I expected. For the price of the other plates, you might as well get the prime rib ‍

First, it is important to look at every reviewed place IN CONTEXT, and in this particular hotel, that means consider where it is. This is a very very very low population density area. It's relatively close to some important jumping-off areas like fly-fishing haven, Hat Creek, but frankly, it's a miracle that this place is solvent in the days of the Pandemic and the present economic circumstances which make it hard for any business at all to hire people at all!!!! I was here for a big bike ride, the Fall River Century. The ride itself is fantastic and totally recommended! Many people camp for this ride but I needed electricity and wanted to bring my wife and dog so my search brought me to the Fall River Hotel. An old building in a very underutilized area full of great people, though not many of them, it is NOT a Courtyard Marriott or whatever. It is a small country hotel that serves great meals and great drinks in a traditional setting where locals hang out and all are welcome! The room we had had a decent bed and clean bathroom at a super super reasonable price. The weather was crazy hot, in the mid-90's here, it was 107F in Redding, where many people would probably stay, quite far away! The room (actually a bed room and little living room opening to a deck) had 2 ceiling fans and a powerful room fan. Even though it was quite hot! The hotel is quite old and creaky at night, which might upset some, but the heat may have contributed to not sleeping well. As such, I would highly recommend coming to the Fall River Hotel in the "shoulder seasons", like Oct or Nov when the weather is more "normal" so one can enjoy the astounding beautiful area as shown in the below photographs I took from my bicycle in a 25 mile circle around the Hotel!

    Bar

My review is strictly for the bar, but would I stay there? YES! It was adorable, quiet and old-timey. My cousins and I were staying nearby in lake houses but passed this place and couldn't resist. We grabbed our drinks and went out back to eat/drink in the courtyard near a lovely water feature. We went back in for round two (and three!). Glad we did because Jeff was a hoot!! Will def be back if we are ever in the area!

This is my first time in this town, very nice place but this hotel is horrible. I came here for work & my co workers & I needed a place to stay but honestly at first the hotel seemed a little sketch, it looked creepy & once we got to our room it was horrible. There was spiders & webs all on the ceiling, we let that slide at first, we didn't think it was that big of a deal but once we started to check are bed. That's when we saw such a disgusting mattress, they covered a bunch of clean sheets on that so we wouldn't notice the nasty mattress. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless you don't mind sleeping in filth. We also noticed that the toilet wasn't flushed, it had pee all on the bowl & toilet seat.

Best best place to stay!!! Clean clean clean. I was really happy with the towels, bathrooms and room! Omg I can't express how clean their place is. AND the service the best. Supper nice staff .! The food was amazing, fresh delicious and fast service with the drink. They have a full bar. Amen to that. After a long drive from Santa Rosa ca I needed some drinks. Skip the chain hotels and chose them. Best money for ur stay! Quite room. Quite and charming town. Oh u never feel rushed. I highly recommend this place! Oh bed sheets smell fresh. Big plus!

The toilet sometimes didn't flush, but it did after waiting a few minutes. There's a fridge that kept our food and water cold. There's also a microwave but we didn't use it. There's cable so it was nice to wind down and relax with a movie. On our way out to dinner, there was a guy sitting under a tree by our room, which was unnerving. How long was he there? I'm glad he wasn't there anymore when we came back. This motel is in a town with a population of 648. There's a museum across the street that was fun to visit. For breakfast, the hostess at the motel recommended the golf club. We went to a cool coffee shop to get iced coffee to go. For dinner, there's a pizza place and a restaurant in a hotel not too far from the motel. This town doesn't have a lot going on. As a matter of fact, there are a lot of buildings/businesses closed. My man and I were predicting that this place might be a ghost town in a couple of years. However, we drove here from Mt Shasta and Castle Crags, then visited Burney Falls, and Lassen Volcanic National Park!

I asked the manager Melissa about the WIFI and she giggled it's the country out here, we don't have good WIFI... pahleeeez... Seems they removed one of the beds from the rooms (they used to have 2 queens per room) and replaced with a futon couch.. sucks if you're the one stuck on the futon... Fall River Mills is about 12 minutes away and there is no place on property to have breakfast.. at least when run by Spinner Falls Lodge, they made you a good little breakfast... after all the chef is in early to prep, why in the world would they not throw a couple of eggs on for you... They're small spaces (manufactured homes) but they aren't connected with walls to anyone, so it was less stressful to have our baby wake up in the middle of the night. We didn't have to worry about waking our neighbors. 2. The little "neighborhood" loop is cute, too. And the lights at night over the road are fun. 3. Really easy to find off the freeway. 4. Our unit was backed up to the tree line. It felt peaceful looking out the window! 5. The unit felt secure. Cons: 1. The road noise is loud when you're outside. It's literally right on I-5. But we couldn't hear it in our unit. 2. The look is very MCM and cute but the furniture was all for show, not necessarily functional. The "couch" (more loveseat size) was broken on one end. 3. It definitely wasn't well cleaned. There was a layer of dust under the couch, the shower had hair on the walls and you could tell someone used purple shampoo, because it was also still on the shower wall. And drain was backed up slightly. The bathroom sink drain was also backed up. And the kitchen sink was severely backing up. I think someone thought there was a garbage disposal and there wasn't. 4. When I told the front desk at night what was happening, the girl was incredibly kind and tried to problem solve. She offered to move us to another unit but it was after 8 pm and we had an infant with a lot of stuff that would have needed to be moved. Since we were leaving in the morning, it would have been too much to move that late at night. The girl was very understanding and told me she was going to pass it onto her manager. When I checked out in the morning, the same girl was working. She said she told her manager and they talked about some sort of refund or compensation and she assured me the manager would call me, as the manager was standing in the same room as us but talking to another customer. Manager never called to follow up. It was really disappointing. Unfortunately this week was in the middle of a 100+ degree heatwave so hanging out wasn't in the cards. We were inside with the AC on or on the Lake. He hauled our trash, provided firewood, and gave us directions to a cool beach spot on Lake Briton. Regardless of the heat, the amenities were exactly what we were looking for! Said Eff it, we're going! My wife and I dragged our Travel Trailer out there with our two dogs, found the resort with ease, pulled in, and that's when I met Allen. He is the NEW OWNER! He was very polite and gave me all of my information and my camp sight number. After we had settled in he swung by just to say hi so I told him all of the hesitations I had about staying there. That's when I learned he had just bought this trailer resort back in March 2019, and was in the early stages of a 100% revamp. In his exact words, "when I bought this place it was a mess!" He evicted all of the permanent tenants, hauled out all of their trash, and is now remodeling all of the mobile homes on sight to rent out as cabins in the future. THE STAY. It was awesome!! I would stay there again in a heartbeat. It was super quiet and relaxing. We had a couple neighbors parked near us, but everyone was respectable. The camp sight was level, so parking the trailer was easy. Full hook ups worked just as described. Dogs do have to be leashed in the camp area, but a 30ft walk up into the brush and you can let them off the leash to roam and do their business. AT&T is from what we were told the only provider that gets reception out there. We found it to be very spotty though, sometimes it would work just "okay" and other times it wouldn't work at all. The WiFi there was less than acceptable. It wouldn't work at all for us. I brought this up to management and he told me that they are aware of the issue and have 2 WiFi boosters on order to fix that- so with time that will get better. Burney falls is about a 4 minute drive. Allen gave us directions to a really cool spot you can park for free and then walk in on the back side of the falls along the pacific coast trail. Give the subway caves(lava tubes) a visit, took us about 25 minutes to drive too but was super cool! So in all, give this place a shot! We had an awesome experience. Better than some "5 star resorts" we have stayed at in the past. The new owner is welcoming and polite. The views are breathtaking. And its centrally located. THANKS FOR THE AWESOME STAY ALLEN!!!!
