Amazing place. When you're there, take a close look at the property. It's not easy to keep a place looking this nice. And of course, the fishing is great.

Incredible location, unbelievable views. Makes you feel you are in Montana in Northern California.

The food I had was fish and chips and that was quite good. For dessert, I had their famous crème brûlée, and looked like the crème was old and broken and liquidy on the bottom took a couple of bites and didn't eat it. It came back to bite me later at night with upset stomach, and diarrhea. I stayed in their courtyard suite, and that was a letdown. Nothing like the photos, smell, funky, old dilapidated, flooring and furniture. Couch had holes in it and look like dogs had slept on it or something. Also, the bed had a funky smell so much so that I had a problem sleeping and I had to wrap the the pillows with towels. I've attached some pics of what the room actually looks like. Also, the bathroom is pretty tight. I'm not a big person, but I had a hard time sitting down on the toilet. There's literally no space between the toilet and the sink. If you do come up this way, the bar and food is good, but I probably camp out next time. It looks like they charged me an extra $36 service fee on top of the tax without letting me know that there was gonna be any additional service fees. I certainly didn't leave the room dirty And left and made a nice generous tip. Just be careful if you plan to stay here ask questions upfront make sure there's no surprises

The toilet sometimes didn't flush, but it did after waiting a few minutes. There's a fridge that kept our food and water cold. There's also a microwave but we didn't use it. There's cable so it was nice to wind down and relax with a movie. On our way out to dinner, there was a guy sitting under a tree by our room, which was unnerving. How long was he there? I'm glad he wasn't there anymore when we came back. This motel is in a town with a population of 648. There's a museum across the street that was fun to visit. For breakfast, the hostess at the motel recommended the golf club. We went to a cool coffee shop to get iced coffee to go. For dinner, there's a pizza place and a restaurant in a hotel not too far from the motel. This town doesn't have a lot going on. As a matter of fact, there are a lot of buildings/businesses closed. My man and I were predicting that this place might be a ghost town in a couple of years. However, we drove here from Mt Shasta and Castle Crags, then visited Burney Falls, and Lassen Volcanic National Park!

Great for naturalists and fly fishers.. the rooms are small with no AC or TV and the WIFI sucks! Hello, sometimes we have to work when we're on the road... please fix this! I can live without the AC or TV - it cools off at night and we're not up there for TV.. but get the WIFI up to modern standards please! I asked the manager Melissa about the WIFI and she giggled it's the country out here, we don't have good WIFI... pahleeeez... Seems they removed one of the beds from the rooms (they used to have 2 queens per room) and replaced with a futon couch.. sucks if you're the one stuck on the futon... Fall River Mills is about 12 minutes away and there is no place on property to have breakfast.. at least when run by Spinner Falls Lodge, they made you a good little breakfast... after all the chef is in early to prep, why in the world would they not throw a couple of eggs on for you... I ordered the larger of the two steaks at the restaurant my first night and with the understanding and their agreement that because I could not finish a large steak on my own they would scramble some steak and eggs for me in the morning... they said yes... Great!... But no they must have forgotten, because I got up early to go fishing (not too early 7AM) and nobody there, locked shut... I asked the manager Melissa later that afternoon, and frankly she fibbed... said the chef was there and even knocked on my door.. BS.... I was in my room until 7:45 and checked on the restaurant at 7:15 and 7:30... Look it's a cute little place.. it's under new ownership and management... it's apparent the staff is new and working out the kinks... but peeps there's a reason it's kind of empty in season... As for staying here again, likely yes, but I'll have to consider my options.. it's really a nice place if they get some professional management in to help... I'm sorry to have to post this..

The idea of this place is really cool and unique! We stayed in June 2025…read more Pros: 1. They're small spaces (manufactured homes) but they aren't connected with walls to anyone, so it was less stressful to have our baby wake up in the middle of the night. We didn't have to worry about waking our neighbors. 2. The little "neighborhood" loop is cute, too. And the lights at night over the road are fun. 3. Really easy to find off the freeway. 4. Our unit was backed up to the tree line. It felt peaceful looking out the window! 5. The unit felt secure. Cons: 1. The road noise is loud when you're outside. It's literally right on I-5. But we couldn't hear it in our unit. 2. The look is very MCM and cute but the furniture was all for show, not necessarily functional. The "couch" (more loveseat size) was broken on one end. 3. It definitely wasn't well cleaned. There was a layer of dust under the couch, the shower had hair on the walls and you could tell someone used purple shampoo, because it was also still on the shower wall. And drain was backed up slightly. The bathroom sink drain was also backed up. And the kitchen sink was severely backing up. I think someone thought there was a garbage disposal and there wasn't. 4. When I told the front desk at night what was happening, the girl was incredibly kind and tried to problem solve. She offered to move us to another unit but it was after 8 pm and we had an infant with a lot of stuff that would have needed to be moved. Since we were leaving in the morning, it would have been too much to move that late at night. The girl was very understanding and told me she was going to pass it onto her manager. When I checked out in the morning, the same girl was working. She said she told her manager and they talked about some sort of refund or compensation and she assured me the manager would call me, as the manager was standing in the same room as us but talking to another customer. Manager never called to follow up. It was really disappointing. We had planned on stopping and staying on our way back up to Oregon but chose a hotel instead after we didn't hear from them for a week.

Unfortunately this week was in the middle of a 100+ degree heatwave so hanging out wasn't in the cards. We were inside with the AC on or on the Lake. Alan stopped by several times to make sure everything was perfect for us and our dogs. We felt so welcomed. He hauled our trash, provided firewood, and gave us directions to a cool beach spot on Lake Briton. Regardless of the heat, the amenities were exactly what we were looking for! Full hookups, clean, peace & quiet, friendly neighbors, etc. Our shady spot was perfect for our dogs that we had fenced in around our trailer. If Burney Falls is on your bucket list, this is the place to bring your RV!

So after I scheduled my reservations online(May 3-5th), I stumbled onto this Yelp review page…read more INSTANT REGRET. I almost called and canceled I was so leery and turned off. Said Eff it, we're going! My wife and I dragged our Travel Trailer out there with our two dogs, found the resort with ease, pulled in, and that's when I met Allen. He is the NEW OWNER! He was very polite and gave me all of my information and my camp sight number. After we had settled in he swung by just to say hi so I told him all of the hesitations I had about staying there. That's when I learned he had just bought this trailer resort back in March 2019, and was in the early stages of a 100% revamp. In his exact words, "when I bought this place it was a mess!" He evicted all of the permanent tenants, hauled out all of their trash, and is now remodeling all of the mobile homes on sight to rent out as cabins in the future. THE STAY. It was awesome!! I would stay there again in a heartbeat. It was super quiet and relaxing. We had a couple neighbors parked near us, but everyone was respectable. The camp sight was level, so parking the trailer was easy. Full hook ups worked just as described. Dogs do have to be leashed in the camp area, but a 30ft walk up into the brush and you can let them off the leash to roam and do their business. AT&T is from what we were told the only provider that gets reception out there. We found it to be very spotty though, sometimes it would work just "okay" and other times it wouldn't work at all. The WiFi there was less than acceptable. It wouldn't work at all for us. I brought this up to management and he told me that they are aware of the issue and have 2 WiFi boosters on order to fix that- so with time that will get better. Burney falls is about a 4 minute drive. Allen gave us directions to a really cool spot you can park for free and then walk in on the back side of the falls along the pacific coast trail. Give the subway caves(lava tubes) a visit, took us about 25 minutes to drive too but was super cool! So in all, give this place a shot! We had an awesome experience. Better than some "5 star resorts" we have stayed at in the past. The new owner is welcoming and polite. The views are breathtaking. And its centrally located. THANKS FOR THE AWESOME STAY ALLEN!!!!

It was outfitted with a Queen size bed, dining table, charcoal grill, oven and stove, refrigerator and some basic cooking utensils. There is also a small bathroom with a shower. The bed was comfortable and the entire cabin was clean. The shower was small, but the hot water was fantastic. This location is a short drive to several great locations including Lassen Volcanic National Park (15 minutes), Burney Falls State Park (30 minutes), and Subway Cave (5 minutes). There is a small store on the premises. We did not find it as well stocked as we had hoped. But there is Old Station Fill Up right up the road that has more variety. Or if you're looking to grocery shop, you can drive into Burney (30 minutes). We enjoyed that there wasn't any service on the property. It was nice to unplug. Old Station Fill Up does have good service if you need to use it. My husband enjoyed fishing in the pond on the property and even caught a rainbow trout.

You could see inside the bathroom from the outside. The main door to get inside is easily opened without a key, which is not good at all. Also, the WiFi did not work during our time there. Not even in the areas we were told it would. Besides that, the area itself is nice. We enjoyed playing cornhole and badminton.
