Boats and trolling motors were in good shape and always ready. The kitchen was nice, and we used the Weber grill too, and were able to have several of us cook up a potluck feast simultaneously. The location has potential, but our stay was highly disappointing…read more First and foremost, the checkout policy requires guests to wash all dishes prior to checking out. This is a major sanitation concern. IF the property thoroughly cleans and sanitizes the kitchenware between stays, this chore is an unnecessary burden on paying guests. If they do not reclean them, then the health and safety of incoming guests relies entirely on the honor system and the cleaning habits of previous occupants. It is incredibly unsettling to think the dishes we used may not have been professionally washed or sanitized. The cabin itself clearly got a "landlord special" French doors were stuck and wouldnt open. Had to call maintenance to get them fixed. The refrigerator and cabinet drawers overlap so tightly that opening the fridge makes the drawers to open, and vice versa. The fridge door is already dented, clearly from this problem. The blinds are old, broken, and don't close all the way. So we had to wake up with the sun every morning, spiderwebs in the ceiling corners throughout the cabin. For the price charged to stay here, guests should at least be guaranteed professional cleanliness. Unfortunately, this property missed the mark on all counts.

I think you should offer golf cart transportation between the resort and the golf course. That would prevent a lot of people from taking the chance and driving that short distance while intoxicated. I noticed this first hand on several of our party goers. We had a beautiful cabin that was not on the lake, but close enough to appreciate the beauty of the surroundings. I see a lot of reviews had a problem with cleanliness and honestly, we did walk in to a musty smelling cabin and dead, flying things all in the bathroom, but after doing a black light inspection of the mattress, I was reasonably assured that bedbugs would not be an issue. To me that's a big one. I highly recommend this location if you're planning a wedding at the golf course.

Russ and Debbie, the owners, were so accommodating, enjoyable, helpful and easy going; people you could just spend all day talking to. There are some RV spaces to camp here so we stayed on site to make set up a little easier on the day of the memorial. We had family that rented a quaint one bedroom cabin on site as well. There is an outdoor covered kitchen area with a huge refrigerator, which allowed us to bring food in advance and prep the day before. It was all so convenient! They were in the path of the Dixie fire, so the drive out there is baron, but don't let that deter you. Once you arrive, you are surrounded by green trees and stunning scenery. It was a perfect hidden gem. We are so pleased with our entire experience at lassen meadows and would absolutely recommend it and use this venue again for other events.

There were only a few minutes left until they switched to the lunch menu at 11:00am, but they were gracious enough to cook up breakfast for seven of us. Everyone in our group enjoyed their breakfast and the pancakes were delicious. I know where I'll be coming from now on whenever I visit Alturas. Great food and terrific service.

The pasta was good as were the potatoes and green beans. I did not try the stuffed chicken breasts but the people around me seemed to enjoy them immensely. Mosquitoes everywhere! Got there around 12:30 pm and got checked in and hit the golf course. On…read morethe 2nd hole we were swarmed by mosquitoes and instantly started spraying with repellent. It didn't help. Weren't even able to sit outside and enjoy the star gazing because of the pests. The management sprayed the course that night and it helped somewhat, but the pests were still around, though not in the numbers they were the day before. Third day there mosquitoes everywhere again. The golf rates are a bit pricey, especially if you want to play a 2nd 18 on the same day. They only discount it by $1. Many places in the Reno area give you a 30-50% discount on a 2nd 18 holes. The food in the restaurant was very good. The golf course itself is a nice layout. There are holes that give you a legitimate eagle chance and some that you'll be happy with a bogey. Unfortunately, the mosquito swarms left me with well over 30 bites all over my body. And that was with practically bathing in deep woods off. I probably won't return due to all the mosquitoes there.
