Russ and Debbie, the owners, were so accommodating, enjoyable, helpful and easy going; people you could just spend all day talking to. There are some RV spaces to camp here so we stayed on site to make set up a little easier on the day of the memorial. We had family that rented a quaint one bedroom cabin on site as well. There is an outdoor covered kitchen area with a huge refrigerator, which allowed us to bring food in advance and prep the day before. It was all so convenient! They were in the path of the Dixie fire, so the drive out there is baron, but don't let that deter you. Once you arrive, you are surrounded by green trees and stunning scenery. It was a perfect hidden gem. We are so pleased with our entire experience at lassen meadows and would absolutely recommend it and use this venue again for other events.

There were only a few minutes left until they switched to the lunch menu at 11:00am, but they were gracious enough to cook up breakfast for seven of us. The pasta was good as were the potatoes and green beans. I did not try the stuffed chicken breasts but the people around me seemed to enjoy them immensely. The people that did the cake did a wonderful job as well. If you live in the area and plan to get married, I would highly recommend Wilcox Oaks.

Mosquitoes everywhere! Got there around 12:30 pm and got checked in and hit the golf course. On…read morethe 2nd hole we were swarmed by mosquitoes and instantly started spraying with repellent. It didn't help. Weren't even able to sit outside and enjoy the star gazing because of the pests. The management sprayed the course that night and it helped somewhat, but the pests were still around, though not in the numbers they were the day before. Third day there mosquitoes everywhere again. The golf rates are a bit pricey, especially if you want to play a 2nd 18 on the same day. They only discount it by $1. Many places in the Reno area give you a 30-50% discount on a 2nd 18 holes. The food in the restaurant was very good. The golf course itself is a nice layout. There are holes that give you a legitimate eagle chance and some that you'll be happy with a bogey. Unfortunately, the mosquito swarms left me with well over 30 bites all over my body. And that was with practically bathing in deep woods off. I probably won't return due to all the mosquitoes there.
