I tried basically every version of their jerk chicken and it was all fabulous. The WINGS ARE BOMB. Absolute stars here. I don't know how they are usually prepared in the Caribbean, but here they appear to have come out of the smoker. Life-changing. Fall off the bone and tender smokiness that makes you wanna pop these into your mouth continuously. The greatest thing too is that they sell these by the piece ($1.25 each). That means that you don't have to commit to a dozen at once, and can try other foods too. Or you know, order more once you realize you didn't order enough. Their plates: don't sleep on their rice and veggies! They are delicious but not overpowering in flavor which you absolutely need with all the jerk flavor lighting up your mouth. Their wrap: i was actually too full by the time we opened this (the goal was to save this for the next day), but the little bite I had was wonderful -- super flavorful! But I'm Asian and i like my rice. Fried plantains: loooove these. So yeah, I was too full and told myself that I would save the cake for later too. But a little bite now, just to taste. Whoops, ate it all and have no cake left to enjoy later. Maybe we should have bought one for now and one for later?

The atmosphere is always friendly, relaxed, and easy to settle into whether you're there for a quick drink or hanging out for the night. The drinks are consistently great, and they also have really solid weekday food specials. The sliders and tots are definitely the go-to items on the menu and always hit the spot after a few drinks. One thing I especially appreciate is how much effort they put into the themed décor during Christmas and Halloween. It really adds personality to the space and makes coming back during the holidays feel fun and memorable every year. Just an overall great neighborhood bar with good vibes and a lot of character.

One of my stipulations for relocation was to be within walking distance of my beloved Nickel City. Guess what? I am! Less than a five-minute walk. I love this place so much. It's not always about drinking. In fact, quite often I'll do mocktails, water, or soda. It's about community and friendship. The vibe at NC can't fully be expressed in words. It has to be experienced. The staff treat locals and tourists like friends. And, if you're lucky enough, you actually become friends. They're like a family. Same can be said about patrons, whether regulars, sometimers, or tourists, everyone feels the love. Everyone just gets it! They have some of the best cocktails around. The frozen Irish coffee is incredible. Espresso martinis on tap? Yes, please! And if you want the best bar/comfort food ever then order from their food truck, Delray Cafe. Crinkle cut fries A+ Smashburgers A+ Hot Dogs A+ Grilled Cheese A+ Pizza Logs A+ Tater Tots A+ Everything on the menu A+ Be sure to give the gang in the kitchen (food truck) some love! They're putting out the real deal. Oh and let's not forget Steak Night! Much love to my fave neighbor, Nickel City!

Besides the 5 stars, we noticed that many people passed us just to enter at the Culinary Dropout. That was our sign to just enter. For our first time, we noticed the environment was very welcoming and the food was amazing! Our server Zelda was just always attentive of us and always kept great communication with what drinks were the best. He recommended the drink 'El Matador'. It was one of the best drinks we've ever had and kept it rotating for more. Zelda 10/10 as a server. Our only problem would be with a young female waiter with long curly hair and web tights. We asked her if she was a server, as she passed by our table, and she said "no" and left. I understand if she wasn't a server but she worked for the restaurant and could've helped us find our server, but didn't. Besides that, we will definitely be back for the Brussels Sprouts and 'El Matador'. 10/10 Restaurant

They've got a huge outdoor patio with a Tardis and lots of seating. Inside they've got a couple of different rooms. You enter in the coffee house/bar side that has counter and table seating. They have a wide variety of tea, coffee, cocktails, 30+ beers on tap, n/a, sodas, etc. The center of space is a shop with gaming items, plushies, books, etc. Off to the right is a very large dining area with several cove-like Tudor booths. Perfect for large gaming teams and events and rad that you're able to have a meal or snack while playing (no outdoor food or drinks allowed). This is a perfect haven for D&D peeps. The British theme runs throughout the entire space including the menu. My boyfriend and I shared a Bavarian pretzel and brisket pie. The brisket pie was incredible and made feel like I was back in the UK at a local pub having a bite. Absolutely perfect. I'm not a gamer and you don't have to be to appreciate this inclusive, welcoming environment. It's eclectic, charming, & tasty!

They have an extensive menu with fun seasonal drinks (including mocktails!) and a variety of food options that are kind of Western European themed (think England and Ireland), which goes along with the theme of the place. I got the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with English Chips and while the sandwich was okay (can't really go wrong with cheese, pesto, and grilled chicken), the chips stole the show for me and will for you if you like thicker/potatoey friend fries. As for their fish and chips, they were fine, but the fish was more breading than fish and was on the sweeter end, which I didn't expect, but didn't hate either. We also tried their Ranger, Bard, and Cleric mocktails, and I have to say that I was a little disappointed as the drinks were extremely overpriced compared to what we got... the Bard was essentially a fancy glass of Trix cereal, the Ranger was cucumber soda, and the Druid was sparkling lemonade, all priced at $8 per drink. I can appreciate that they have mocktail options, but $8 for a cup of cereal is too much for my taste ‍ They get four stars from me because the ambiance, concept, service, and experience were fantastic, but the food quality and prices need some work.

The one item we did realize while in there, their price point was up there, but I didn't have much to compare to. Now some 7ish yrs on, it was time to replace the cushions. Our suite sits outside under a pergola, fully exposed to all the elements. They had been cleaned by the wonderful Ms Suzie, but they are grotty, green pollen stained, a little hole here and there. I started my search last spring, bogged down by C19 availability, difficult communications.. etc. One of my chairs had a bent rocker arm and leg, don't know how that happened. But, here is where paying for quality pays off. Winston Patio were great and actually replaced the arm for nothing... in fact they ended up sending me several arms, just in case. Anyway, I eventually reached back out to Backyard, formerly Outside In Style, to check on availability of cushions. Surprisingly, Jamie our original sales rep replied quickly and we began getting this together. 8 Cushions and $2700 later, we ordered them. On July 29th. They arrived yesterday and got the call. During this time I had reached out to Jamie to check status and she always replied promptly and on point. The location is convenient for us, just off of 71, well marked. Massive show room with all kinds of stuff. The gentlemen who helped us load the cushions was extremely nice and helpful and even helped me troubleshoot the bent leg and fix. I would imagine you could find less expensive stuff at the big box stores, however, I would find it hard to believe the furniture would still be in as good nick as our Winston's have faired over the past 7yrs. We picked up covers this time around, which I would imagine will keep the cushions like new much longer. Job done Backyard... we will be back, for some reason Suzie wants me to buy an outdoor grill... oh boy.
