One of the highlights of our trip to Ireland! Must book in advance but you can schedule a private tour so that it is just your group. Each person gets to fly several birds and learn about them. It's so much fun! A must do experience!

The price was a steal, if you have even a small group you can more than likely do the trip without being saddled with random strangers on a regular bus tour for about the same cost. The very punctual bus was a nice Mercedes 15 passenger bus with cushy leather captains chairs, a mini fridge and massive windows so you could take in all the scenery. Our driver was the BEST!!! He was so knowledgeable about the area, it's history and random trivia factiods. He let us dictate where we stopped, how long we stayed, gave us tips for places to check out in the various towns and stopped at many scenic overlooks for the shutterbugs in our group. Even on the ride back he didn't seem to be overly concerned with having us back to our house by the official end time of our tour. I would totally and completely suggest J.O'Callaghans for any type of tour of the area!!

A great storyteller for sure, Maurice provided excellent historical and local knowledge. We were treated like Rock Stars with privileged access, no lines and special introductions at all of our stops. We even had a few Irish language lessons along the way. Thank you for making our visit to Ireland the best! This is the way to travel!!!

I had to get my partner home to Tipperary and she could not drive my manual shift car. John Goggins, despite being already booked with four passengers from Kerry to Shannon Airport accepted my request and provided transport in his comfortable Ford Passenger Van from Waterville to Tipperary. We were looking for a place that was a good home base for the Southwest Coast of Ireland, specifically the Dingle Peninsula. Well, this place was above and beyond our expectations. The service was superb! Make sure you take the time to get to know the owner John King, as he is extremely friendly, accommodating, and just a nice person to talk to. The breakfast was fantastic, and when John found out it was our honeymoon, he brought our breakfast to our room! Great service. The lodge also has a great location as we could walk to the town centre for food or beers (plenty of pubs) and we had walks to Ross Castle, Killarney National Park, and Lough Leane. We saw so many amazing places, just by walking from the Abbey Lodge. Also, we took a train from Dublin, and the Lodge is close to the train station, and if someone is an American scared about driving on the opposite side of the road, Killarney is an easy place to get your feet wet. The Budget Rental Car is right near the lodge, and you will meet another great man, Liam, who will go out of his way to help you. Rent the car, DRIVE TO DINGLE, walk around all of Killarney, and stay at the Abbey Lodge.

When I can in , reception was closed and when I knocked on the door(as was posted) the lady was a bit abrupt. She directed me to the leisure center - took me a minute to find it. The lady I dealt with there was very pleasant. Once we got to the cabin , we found our door didn't have a lock ( see picture) only 2 people could shower with hot water per day( there were 4 of us) only one bedroom had a hair dryer and two of the heating units didn't work. There were 4 channels available on the TV and the couch was very uncomfortable. Each bedroom had a full/double and a twin and lots of storage space.
