We found several snug spots to hang out while waiting and grabbed comfortable chairs in a lounge where we were immediately greeted by a very nice and accommodating server. We enjoyed some snacks (he even ensured the crisps were gluten-free and safe for me), and the drinks were excellent. Our table was ready on time, and we were seated by what probably was a spectacular window view, but while waiting for our table, the sun had set. While it was pitch black out, the restaurant itself was very elegant to look at. Also, our server was attentive and helpful with ordering gf. I had the monkfish and risotto, which turned out to be one of my favorite meals of the trip. Friends had French onion soup and salad, fish n chips, and a steak. Everything was excellent. Just wish we could have stayed as guests to enjoy the view, but highly recommended.

Since our childhood , they have done a complete luxurious renovation of the hotel and it is absolutely stunning in every possible way. It's owned by The Liebherr group who also own The Europe Hotel. Dunloe is set amid the Macgillycuddy Reeks, (The highest Mountain Range in Ireland and has roughly 60 acres of adjoining grounds where you can do all kinds of family fun stuff.
