My partner and I took a day trip to Dingle through Deros and it was fantastic. Our driver and guide was Ger and he was amazing. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and shared all kinds of facts with us, both scripted and unscripted. We made lots of stops on our way to Dingle and took a ton of pictures. We arrived in Dingle around 2pm and left about an hour and a half later, so we had time to get some lunch, ice cream, and wander the street for a bit. Ger was a very good driver and pulled over to let cars pass us whenever he could, and that didn't impact our timeline at all. He also stopped at a random business so someone in our tour could go to the bathroom partway through the trip. We will be doing the Gap of Dunloe tour with Deros in a few days and I'm looking forward to it. I highly recommend Deros for your day trip needs! read more

We rented a car and intended to drive the Ring of Kerry but the owner of our B&B recommended we book a bus tour so that we could all enjoy the scenery and get local inside information. This made so much sense to us and we looked at reviews online and loved that this company is locally owned and operated. We booked the Ring of Kerry trip and it was one of the best decisions we made on our trip. Batt was our driver and he was fantastic - responsible, fun, funny, entertaining, so knowledgeable, and very passionate about the area of the world where he grew up and where his family is from. He told us such interesting personal stories as well as shared so much rich information on the areas we were seeing. We felt like part of the family by the end of the tour! I could not have imagined how beautiful this area is and the mountains, water, cliffs, rolling fields and hills of green are magical. We made a few fun stops but it didn't feel too busy or the pace too rushed. Batt was a great photographer, as well, and always happy to snap a photo for his guests. We felt very comfortable with his driving as the roads do look treacherous to outsiders and we were relieved that we listened and didn't attempt it ourselves. I know for a fact that our experience of the Ring of Kerry was so much richer and better because we booked the Deros tour. We had a fantastic lunch at a little cliffside place (the lamb stew was delicious and very filling!). A highlight was driving through the hilly terrain while Batt sang "Danny Boy" for us (with all the verses, which I adore!). Another fun extra was when we were driving on our own to Dingle the next day and pulled up to Inch Beach. We noticed the Deros bus was there and suddenly, there was Batt waving hello to us! It was so nice to run into a new friend on our travels and realize the wonderful connections we were making on this amazing journey. Went on the Ring of Kerry tour (in conjunction with Railtours Ireland - starting in Dublin). Our driver/tour guide was very knowledgeable. We made many stops along the way and had ample time to take pictures. There was one stop where there was a guy chillin with some baby sheep. He let us hold them! So adorable! Oh and there's free WiFi on the bus! Not the best signal as it comes and goes but it's still something! Would definitely recommend! read more

I took the Dingle tour and had an ok experience. A few friends warned me about the narrow roads on Dingle Peninsula and suggested doing a tour instead of driving it myself. They were right about the roads. Glad I took the tour but you can never stop at all the places that you want to stop at. We stopped at a few places that I really didn't care for and wished we stopped at other places. If you plan on doing Dingle and want to drive yourself, I would suggest going early and doing Slea Head in a clockwise route. Our tour along with other buses drove the route clockwise. Therefore you'll avoid passing narrow roads with huge buses. read more

Mike was great, very educated as this is his homeland. We also paid a bit extra for vip seating which meant we were in the front and always first to get off the coach at stops. We did the Ring of Kerry tour with Dennis. It's alright. It's very touristy though, and I wish we had driven ourselves in a rental instead. The coach had wifi. The driver was snippy, though, and actually chastised my elderly parents for minor things (e.g., keeping the curtains closed while napping during a stopover). We found him very unpleasant. There wasn't a lot of useful information beyond what you'd get in a standard guidebook. We paid €5/person extra for oceanside seats, which was a waste. The tour bus goes counterclockwise around the Ring, so the 'starboard' side is ocean-facing, but there's tons to see on both sides. As long as one person in your group has a window seat, you're fine. The bus stopped at a bunch of useless souvenir shops but not enough vantage points. The lunch stop isn't till 2 PM and the food is terrible and overpriced - I recommend bringing your own lunch. Also note that you view the Dingle Peninsula from the Ring but don't actually visit it. The road is indeed narrow and windy, but if you're an experienced driver and you take it slow, you shouldn't have an issue. Overall, I'd say this bus tour is overpriced (€25/person at this time) and panders to tourists. If you must take the tour, then bring your own lunch and skip the 'premium' oceanside seats. read more

Traveling to Ireland from the U.S. and many people recommended to travel the Ring of Kerry. I booked online through Deros. The price was a little bit more than the hostel I was staying at. However, our coach and tour bus was outstanding. Our driver, Ray, made the tour even better. He provided us facts, stories, folktales, and made many stops for great pictures. The bus was clean and not overcrowded. I would highly recommend doing a guided tour instead of driving since the driver wouldn't be able to absorb the amazing scenery and facts about each town. There was no way in hell I was driving my rent-a-car on the wrong side of the road down those hairpin turns along the Ring of Kerry and so I decided to opt for Deros Coach Tours. No complaints, and for the price it was a real bargain--27 Euro for 10:30-5PM. Our guide picked us up early from our hotel and dropped us off there. He was pleasant and well informed, dropping information along the way. The van was ample and comfortable. We stopped every 1/2 hour to 45 minutes for pictures and/or food shopping which helped break it up. If you want to do the Ring of Kerry and are not a native, this is the way to go. read more

He did an excellent job of driving & telling us things.....some of the stops weren't the greatest, but it's a country that makes a living on tourists....would recommend it. I was going to drive the Ring of Kerry in our rental car and my wife convinced me that we should take the tour and our hotel recommended Deros. What a great decision! Our driver/guide Bart was outstanding. He's from the area, knows all the history and... has a great voice. Yes he will be singing a few songs on the tour! Immaculate and very comfortable coach. Ray was a wonderful tour host and bus driver on our Ring of Kerry and National Park tour. After driving a few days on our own, we totally needed a break and Ray was excellent. He shared tons of information on a huge range of topics from history to architecture to sports to plants and animals. I learned more on that bus trip than I ever could have on my own. It would have been white knuckle driving for one of us with the other as an anxious co-pilot watching the GPS - you can't do both. Instead we are now Ring of Kerry graduates, took tons of photos and even had a few beers and Irish Coffees at different stops. Back at hotel now and we are looking forward to this evening instead of crashing in the room and napping! Bus was comfortable, cool and had great visibility - way better than our rental. Don't drive, take this tour and ask for Ray! read more

About our splendid Aug. 24 Ring of Kerry motor-coach-tour day with Deros Sightseeing Tours' Ray as our driver-tour guide, we enthusiastically say "Thank You!" Beautiful scenery, dramatic seascapes, towering mountains, the lakes of Killarney -- we strolled among traditional circa 1800 Irish dwellings (Kerry Bog Village), watched a master sheepherder instruct his border collies to bring sheep down the hill, and lunched at a hilltop cafe enthralled with the iconic panorama of Ballinskelligs Bay. Ray's delightful brogue and wit informed and entertained us with stories about 19th century Irish liberator Daniel O'Connell, Hollywood actor-director Charlie Chapin's summer vacations here with his family, and local six-time World Heavyweight Champion Wrestler Steve "Crusher" Casey, including his colorful back-stories. I'm sure Deros does lovely tours however I discourage buying their full package for the Gap of Dunloe tour if you want to hike the full gap to the boat tour at a leisurely pace. We were picked a little before 11AM which meant that we didn't get to start our hike until around 11:20 AM. We were told that the hike take 2-2.5 hours by the tour however several websites and reviews say the full hike is closer to 3-3.5 hours. We went at a solid pace without stopping to rest - we paused to take photos and had to step to the side of the road to let cars/jaunty carts pass and the hike took a little over 2.5 hours an we missed our boat by about 10 minutes. Since we missed our prepaid boat, we were stranded and had to pay a private boat. I'd recommend taking a cab earlier than Deros's bus and buying your ticket on the boat to insure you have plenty of time to hike. It may be cheaper that way too. read more

In short: This tour stops at tourist traps. Just got back from Ireland with our family and took this coach tour on the Ring of Kerry and was not impressed... too many tourist traps. Majority of the stops are at pre-arranged non-scenic spots where you can spend extra money for which the tour company undoubtedly gets a kick-back. This bus is nice and comfortable and the guide is very knowledgable, but if you are planning to spend a good amount of time outside looking at the beautiful scenery, this is not the tour for you. Also, the advertised wifi's bandwidth is next to nothing, so if you plan to use it you'd better be the first to get back on the bus. read more
