Very disappointed in Dr. Vane. I have been a patient there since 1998, when Dr. Baker ran the practice. I had an issue with some front teeth, and, not being able to afford a permanent bridge or implants, Dr. Vane suggested something called a nesbitt, or removable bridge. I asked him if it was like the permanent bridge Dr. Baker had put in, only removable. He said it was similar, but removes at night and put it back in morning. I had it made, and imagine my surprise when it came in. It reminded me of the plastic vampire teeth kids get in the dollar store.it had a large plastic piece behind it the made me gag. It did not fit right, I had it adjusted and it did not help. I cannot use this.
I decided the only thing to do was go deeper into debt which I really can't afford, and have the permanent bridge made anyway.
A preauthorization was submitted to my insurance, which was denied because they do not cover 2 procedures for the same area.
I called blue cross, they said if Dr. Vane refunded the amount to blue cross that they paid him, they would approve the permanent bridge.
He said he would do that. I figured, I paid half for it, he pays half because it did not work, and it was not what represented.
Imagine my surprise when his staff called to say that I had to pay that half too before they would refund it to blue cross.
I pointed out that it would cost him the $320.00 to blue cross, and he would make $6000.000 on the permanent bridge. He refused, which makes no business sense, and tells me that being a patient for 22 years rates no consideration.
I have had it, and found a different dentist to do the permanent bridge.
Very poor patient treatment. Would not recommend him. read more
