Be careful, there were someone trying to break into our room, jacking up the door, around 3:00 AM. Affortunetly, I was awake, started screaming for them to go away, and immediately call front desk, who sent security to check on us. I ended up staying here due to my flight being cancelled and being placed here. During such a frustrating time the employees and general manager did everything to make us feel at peace. I had an easy check in process! The views from here are breathtaking! This is a must if you're visiting Puerto Rico! 10 out of 10 experience. We stayed for a week. The room was updated and clean. We stayed during off season so not people around. We had the pool to ourselves most days. The work out facility is open odd hours from what we are accustomed to Georgia. We chalked it up to island time. The room has a large (for a hotel) fridge and a microwave. It all worked well. We were able to do a load of laundry on site before we came home. We enjoyed our stay. read more

We thought this inn was very nice. The area of Fajardo is kind of rough but I'm guessing it was impacted by the 2017 hurricane. There is a security guard previewing cars that drive in and patrolling around the hotel at night. The two pools are peaceful and gorgeous. Restaurant food is okay. Really nice grounds. The rooms are clean and fine too. We stayed for around $150/night which was totally fair. read more

The most horrendous customer service & hospitality I have ever experienced. Arriving a couple was checking out for the amount of mosquitoes on closed property. These morons would leave the door open of the main building which allowed infestation of them. Secondly, the complete door handle broke off and the security lock on the door was missing. I as well, saw TWO ROACHES in my draw while attempting to put away clothes. All this was expressed to front desk, the incapable manager did not bother to call or reach out. Additionally, I checked once one at the front desk, the manager spoke in Spanish saying she isn't available. This resort should be shut down ! I stay here all the time for BA. It's ok. Could use a renovation but for a place to sleep, it works. The wifi sometimes is spotty. Rooms can be really far from the main desk which is good and bad. In the main building there's a really nice terrace to just chill. read more

This hotel was an odd duck but I enjoyed it. I went at the end of season, so it was pretty empty and felt kind of deserted. However, the room was clean, very spacious and had a good view from the balcony. The pool and restaurant were nice, and the property as a whole was great. There are fruit trees all over and it is very relaxing. It's a great jumping off point if you are exploring the east side of the island. Pretty nice place but be ready for some jankiness. 1- ROOMS were clean and comfortable and generally clean (but did find an abandoned hairbrush under the bed...) 2- LOCATION was pretty good but having your own car is probably a necessity, more on that later. Within 10 minutes (driving) of food, beach, and other activities. Not too bad. 3- POOL was the best part. Multiple different pools, on with a small slide and even one long enough to do laps. Also a poolside bar with your standard drink assortment. Very family and kid friendly, no lifeguards. 4- AMENITIES was where the jank began. Reception and website say there are 2 restaurants on site. They were never open when we were there, and the staff said "changes coming soon?" Felt like false advertising. Also, pool Batman said a chef comes on only Tuesdays (?!?) but the chef never came. Barman can make fried bar food though. Also, reception said there was breakfast everyday... Nope! No breakfast, you have to drive to get that (luckily a PR bakery with decent sandwiches is down the road, but really?). So either the staff doesn't know all the info about their hotel or they are misleading. So be warned. OVERALL- need a car, don't expect any food accommodations, and enjoy the room and pools. I would say a solid 3/5 but others in my group were more generous at a 3.5/5. read more

This is an ok place to stay for a day or two if you need to catch a ferry so where. The place has no good signage to find the reception or parking lot. The check in time is very late and the check in is horrible. We only saw one young lady that seemed to be very professional with the guests. There is a surprise deposit of 250 dollars for the stay. We received no directions or descriptions of the amenities. There is a small old elevator with a sign that says one person at a time. The rooms are very basic , they are ok, However, the toilet kept getting clogged. Will not be going back there. read more

Don't book this hotel! It's a shithole!!! The dining is $45 per person. I sincerely think it is the worst buffet I have ever had in my whole life. Today is Dec. 31, DJ has been played his music for over four hours. It is so loud that I can't even hear people from the same room. The music transcend the wall as if there is no barrier. I arrived 7/7/2020. Told receptionist reservation was for my 2 grandkids and myself. She stated reservation showed for 2 people (sure my error after multiple search) and children (9 & 14) were not allowed in room reserved due to it having a balcony. She asked about my nephew and niece, who were there with me, and I explained they were not staying with me, they were staying with their mother (my sister) at PeñaMar Ocean Club. After a little discussion, with major attitude from Receptionist, I asked about their cancellation policy. She stated I had to call third party company used to make reservation. Spoke to Rep from third party company about additional cost and policy for cancellation. He said he would contact front desk and attempt to negotiate a reasonable rate for me. Five min later, he came on line and said that Receptionist stated that I was there with 5 people, reserved for 2, and trying to check in 3. WHAT??? I explained about my nephew and niece and after a few search, I didn't notice that people option went back to default of 2 adults. He apologized and tried to call back Receptionist but she didnt answer. By then my sister was there so I introduce her and again explained about the kids and asked her why she told Rep that I was trying to sneak 2 people in? Her response, I'M CANCELLING YOUR RESERVATION, GET OUT OF MY HOTEL, GET OUT OF MY HOTEL NOW!! We drove an hour and a half to get to this place. Pulling up looked like we were rolling into a deserted motel. No cars. No people. Run down. Totally creepy. We drove around trying to find life, finally found the front desk, and when we opened the car door, I instantly started to salivate and get sick. There was an overpowering smell of sulfur. I ran inside the building asking if I could see the room, they said was on the second floor, but they would get someone to show me a room. A very nice lady came from housekeeping, and walked me to a room downstairs. It was very dark and dingy, looked like an old motel. They were cleaning, so I couldn't smell much over the cleaner, but it definitely was not worth $200 per night. Like someone else said.... maybe $70. She was very sweet and showed me around the vicinity, but I was gagging from the smell, which she claimed she couldn't smell. The pool and golf course are quite a hike, and the only thing this place has going for it. But you can't be outside due to the smell, so it's even worth that. There is a ZERO refund policy. It's very clear why. If they can sucker people into reserving rooms before they see it, they are keeping all the money, because they know people will try to back out.. The 5 star reviews on other sites are all no name, no actual review, so you know they set those up to balance out the ratings. We were traveling with 2 small kids. The whole area was unsafe, surrounding areas, the actual Inn, the doors, windows, etc.. Not a place for 2 women and small children to stay AT ALL. We only saw 1 family of 3 on the property. This place is an outright intentionally deceptive scam. They claim that they have a mini golf course, gym, poolside bar, water park, spa, 3 restaurants etc... but they DO NOT have any of this. They don't even have a restaurant at all other than one for take out to your room only, or any bar at all! It would be fine if it are advertised as a simple hotel.... But this place is advertised as a RESORT. If we had known it was more like a seedy motel, we would have stayed somewhere else. The fact that we were charged a $65 "resort fee" was INSULTING and absurd. We tried to politely get a refund due to the false advertising, and they refused. I very much enjoyed our weekend at Fajardo Inn in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. The room was larger than most other hotel rooms I've stayed in, and impeccably clean. The beds are very comfortable, the bathroom is spacious and well-lit. Fajardo Inn has a very large, beautifully landscaped garden pool that wraps around and has different areas for swimming and for sitting and talking. There is a cute miniature golf course next to it. These might be reasons enough to book a stay here, but I found that the standout attraction is not the grounds, but the people who work here; everyone is so pleasant and helpful. Everyone seems to be aware that theirs is not just a job but that each one of them is an ambassador of the hotel, of Fajardo, and of Puerto Rico. I would make but one suggestion: Although there are nearby breakfast restaurants, it would be very nice to have an on-site breakfast/brunch café. My wife and I were there in September as we were checking in there's roaches on the Ground and on top of the cage where the bird is I couldn't cancel my reservation so we decided to stay as soon as it was time to go to bed. I got up to use the bathroom, and when I turn the lights on, there was at least four or five roaches, I notified the front desk didn't even get an apology was not given a choice to move to a different room. I did share my concerns about roaches getting into my luggage. I also express my concerns about having them in my luggage and bringing them to my home, as soon as I got home, I expected the luggage and sure enough there was about four or five roaches in the luggage. My wife and I were really disgusting when we checked out we did mention our concerns to the front desk not even an apology. They need to work on those roach infected rooms. My gf and I stayed here April 25 2022 and had a blast! Highlight of our trip so far and best hotel yet. We stayed here after El Yunque. Unsure of all the negativity but we really enjoyed it so will try to explain why we enjoyed it so much! The pools are gorgeous - mini bar in the pool - and are open from 8am-8pm. They also have mini golf, a tennis court, and the best gym I've seen for a hotel in PR. Yes - the main restaurants are closed but the pool bar is open. Can easily order food or just bring food with you. Jose was super nice. We are vegetarian and vegan and he custom made pizzas for us that fit our dietary needs. The food was also really affordable and drinks delicious too. We also met Frances who was the supervisor and she was really kind too. It's evident they take care of their staff. Made us feel part of la familia. Yes, they also follow Covid protocols, which is great. Keeps everyone safe. Wear a mask inside and helps keep the spread down. Bed Bugs Bite at the Fajardo Inn And management doesn't really care. Stayed there for a few days during our honeymoon to check out Bio Bay and the rain forest and instead left early because of the bed bugs. My wife's was bitten severely and we immediately checked out, and they refused to refund us! Not only that they wanted us to SHOW them where the bed bugs were - we showed them the bites. Ana Tores, the manager needs to be fired - she was awful and has zero people skills. She treated us like we were trying to pull something over on them. I normally NEVER write reviews unless the place is spectacular and this is the FIRST negative review I've ever written but I don't want anyone else to ever have to go through what we went through. The bites burned for days and although we tried to enjoy the rest of our stay in Puerto Rico (at different hotel) it was a challenge with burning, itching bed bug bites all over my wife's inner thigh. STAY AWAY - I wish I could post the pictures of her bites on YELP but not available - so I have posted them on Trip Advisor if you want to see. We counted 17 bites on one leg, 9 on the other! FINALLY - when we confronted them about the bed bugs the front desk staff admitted they had a problem with bed bugs, but the manager completely denied it. When I checked other people's reviews I can see three other reviews on TripAdvisor referencing bed bugs. - So we were NOT crazy and you are rolling the dice staying at the Fajardo Bed Bug Inn. Minor Problems with the Inn: WIFI - yes they had it, in the lobby but not accessible in the rooms - No refrigerator in the room and they charged for ICE! Stayed here February 2015. We chose the hotel primarily b/c of its location, close to the Ferry to El Culebra & El Yunque National Forest. Its the little hotel that could . . . POSITIVE: Good Sized Room, bathrooms, tiles, etc. were clean, Seems like there have been updates on the facility. Good Sized Gym (although some equipment didn't seem to work). Nice Pools. Garden's and landscaping are pretty. I had no problems with dealing with the staff, although I had no problems or issues to contend with. Before arriving I called to confirm that we had 2 rooms next to each other and a fridge in the room. I did have to call multiple times to make my reservation and after all that, it turned out they couldn't give me the same deal as online, so I had to go online to book and cancel the reservation the staff had made. Plenty of & Free parking. They did have a combo safe. CONS: $25 replacement costs for the cheap pool towels (God forbid you leave on at the pool - I would recommend just using the bath towels at the pool - b/c there is no charge for loosing them). Other than restaurants, nothing going on in the evening. Hot water sporadic in the showers. Our hotel room door didn't shut and lock on the 1st try. We had to slam the door multiple times to get it to "click" shut & lock. You have to lug your luggage up steps to your room. May not be handicap accessible. There was no additional security lock from inside the rooms (most hotels have that extra bar or security measure, to prevent someone from the outside coming in the room once you were in the room. I noticed they didn't have it. The rooms were large and clean & the beds were good sized. We had requested a microwave and fridge and both items were in the rooms when we arrived. We arrived before the check in time (4pm), but we parked the car & changed into our bathing suits in the bathroom/showering/locker room. The bathrooms were nice & we hung at the lower pool, which was clean and not crowded. They had some shade umbrella type things, so we got a break from the sun. Our room was ready early and they called me to let me know. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of our rooms. Everything appeared clean and in good working order. We had to lug all our luggage (6 of us) up to the 2nd floor to our room, which was challenging. The hotel is set on a hill, so if you have limited mobility you may find it challenging. There was free Wifi, but there are different pass-codes for the different areas, so you have to ask at the front desk. There is a business center, but no printer. Also, the computer defaults to spanish on some websites, so that was a challenge - BTW. CLEAR YOUR HISTORY!! We ate at both the Outdoor restaurant & the breakfast place. BOTH PLACES TOOK FOREVER. . . . like forever forever!! One night we ate at the outdoor patio & once at the indoor breakfast (starfish maybe) The food was good, but I would not recommend unless you have nothing but time on your hands & you are not really hungry. There was a little bakery on the way in, which is we ending up having breakfast at. They were very friendly & helpful and it was affordable. We ended up having to do some laundry and must have spent over $10 & 3 hours trying to dry our clothes. So if you need to do laundry I would suggest just doing essentials. The surrounding area seemed a bit rough, from the houses in cages to the man at the intersection begging for change, but we had a car, so we had no issues. read more

Just stayed over the weekend. This place is definitely under rated. The rooms are clean and spacious. The landscaping on all common grounds is beautiful. A beautiful pool with the best piña coladas at the pool bar. A mini golf great for the kids and adults.The staff is friendly and willing to help in all moments. Its location is very strategic to tourist on the east part of the island. Close to the Rainforest, horseback riding, gocarts and about an hour from the capital San Juan. Never have I felt so degraded in my life. I was treated like a dog with my family of 5. The service at the front desk by the manager on site, Limary, was absolutely horrendous. COVID restrictions were changed during our stay 3 days prior to our reservation. We were all vaccinated except for my 7yr old, but we had proof of a negative test. Limary told us she could not let us stay because the results were older than 72 hours long. She told us we could go to a hospital to get a test at 8PM. Which would mean we wouldn't have any results until almost midnight and we only had a one night stay due to a death in the family. My family and I were left with out a place to sleep. When I asked about my $350 deposit, Limary, once again, rudely told me she gave me the option of going to the hospital and that my deposit will need to wait until it's realeased on their time. Which would not be until the next business day, maybe. I will never recommend this place. No tact or common courtesy for guests whatsoever. It has now been almost one month and they still have not returned my deposit and room fee. I call and no one's answers. Which leads me to believe they are a scam hotel operating illegally. read more

Fajardo Ferry is an easy 10 minute walk from here and I highly recommend leaving your car at the inn for a couple reasons. One, it's much safer parked here than at the ferry terminal and two, parking at the terminal isn't free. If you line up and don't get tickets for the ferry, it's pretty much a waste. I give one star for the friendly staff and the pool. The room does not have central AC and the wall mounted air conditioners are disturbingly loud. Sure it does the job, but it's so difficult to sleep! Our room was on the first floor and there were several ants inside near the front door. Moreover, the blankets were complete shite. They were so rough that there was no point in keeping them on the bed. There was one sheet underneath the blanket, but you can feel all of the pills/bobbles of the blanket. The blankets also had holes in them. There is no refrigerator or microwave. The room comes equipped with a coffee pot, but no grounds. Also, if you want ice, it's not free! I've never had to pay for ice at a hotel before, so I thought this was odd. I remember trekking through the rain to the ice machine and having to go back to the room for quarters. If there was one positive thing about the room, I'd say it was the bathroom. The shower was spacious and there were shelves for you to store items. I couldn't figure out how to work the Jacuzzi, but the main pool was really nice. It was large, there was a lazy lagoon, and basketball hoops. If you're interested, it's $5/person for the gym and less than $2 /person for mini golf. Fajardo Inn has beautiful pools and friendly staff, but it stops there. I wish I had checked Yelp before I stayed here :/ There are bedbugs at this property. I stayed in a room in the first floor. I woke up to multiple bites on my back, feet and ankles. My boyfriend checked the mattress upon entering the room due to the lack of cleanliness in the room (musty smell, dead insects on tile floor, general bad feeling after sitting in the room for half and hour) and didn't find evidence of bedbug droppings. They're present. Not sure how they've contained it to this room or they're aware of which rooms they are in. They should deal with the problem with the room rates they charge - we got ours as a "deal" of around $100, and the rate listed on their site is much more than that. Bedbug bites are no fun on your vacation :/ For what it's worth, the front desk staff is nice. That's not enough to be okay with bedbug bites. read more

This place is amazing! Given the location and the top notch quality of this hotel, I was shocked to find that the prices we SO LOW!!! They have a very nice fitness facility, GREAT pools, delicious restaurants for any time of day, and a nice view of El Yunque and the ocean. We had planned on only staying here two nights and then going back to San Juan for the last night of our vacation but changed our minds and stayed here an extra night. The staff is EXTREMELY helpful with anything you need from directions, a good pizza place (when you just NEED american food), to everything in between. I had heard many things about El Conquistador nearby, but I went with this place since it was a significantly cheaper option and I was not disappointed! Fajardo itself is kind of dead in October, which was a little disappointing for me. If I could do it again, I might go the more touristy route of staying in San Juan around that time of year, but one of the main reasons to stay in Fajardo is easy access to Vieques and Culebra, so things still turned out pretty well. As far as the hotel goes, the room wasn't fancy -as you might expect from the price- but the property as a whole has a lot of things going for it: - A pleasant atmosphere. Pastels and palm trees... definitely felt relaxed the whole time I was here. - There are two pools, and one of them is really big with a bar and a water slide. The bar wasn't open when we went, but if it had been, I would have spent a lot of time at this pool. - The Blue Iguana. My girlfriend and I went to this restaurant one of the nights we were staying there because we wanted to relax around the hotel a bit, and we had a great time. The staff was very friendly and upbeat. The food was delicious, and we rounded out the night with a nice game of pool and some drinks. - It's in a pretty good location, as long as you have a car. Overall, I'd recommend this place as an awesome, cheap choice for a stay in Fajardo. If you care about the room itself a lot, you might want to spend the extra money and go to El Conquistador, but otherwise this place is definitely worth a shot. read more

The fajardo inn was a very quiet place there are a lot of mountains to climb the workers only Barely give any service and there is not lifeguards it is a very quiet place and no music at the pool or nothing. But they have a nice and decent restraint called blue iguana I had quesadillas and they were awesome and there pool is nice and I would recommend going there if you just want very quiet. But if you do stay here DO NOT GET A SUITE I got a suite and I called cause it was just a small room and the guy says does it have a micro wave I said yes he said than that is the suite when I booked it thinking there was a kitchenette and I had to pay 100 dollars more for a microwave in my room this hotel is OK for quiet but don't get the suite. read more
