We came to this event last year and enjoyed it but this year, there were less businesses participating likely because they don't find value in it. We shop at most of the places we visit and typically buy something but I'm sure most have to weigh the cost versus the return. We have a lot of fun strolling through, collecting our cupcakes (we bring a tin because we found we can't eat them all at once), shopping, and visiting with the shop owners. They also have a Cookie Crawl near the holidays but I didn't enjoy that as much as this one.

The lights are everywhere and flows nicely throughout the Christmas village. Plenty of shops and eateries to stop in and warm up or grab a warm hot cocoa or specialty drink. The photo opportunities are endless and brings back the traditional family Christmas vibe. The bar and warming area at the end was great, plus the grinch was there for photo ops. Lots of seating in the bar area or outside around the open barrel fires. You'll love this experience for the whole family.

Rode the horse draw carriage, and there was a musician/singer on board leading us on in carols. Went through about half the houses and exhibits. This is really a fascinating place! The carousel, which was a ball. By the time we got to wear the model T ride started, we were kind of wet and getting a bit tired. The one was that horrible, but we decided to skip it. They did not have the fireworks this night because of the rain. I'm from out of town, but that how you recommend people this area to make this part of their holiday event.

The woman playing music and singing Christmas carols on the ride was delightful. We walked all around and ate yummy mini donuts. They were sold out of roasted chestnuts, which was disappointing. They were having model T rides, but the line was longer than we wanted to wait in. Went through Menlo Park and several of the Edison buildings. Enjoyed seeing the Wright brothers workshop as well as their home. All of the tour guides for lack of a better word were dressed in period clothes and we're quite knowledgeable. And they were all very, very friendly and willing to answer questions. Next year, I would consider doing one of the special dinners. Pay attention to win tickets go on sale. Some of the dinner sell out fast.

In such short time, I have become acquainted with Mount Clemens. I go to my internship in the…read morecity, and pass by all the lovely stores. There is a large jail, police stations, court, and a beautiful large library. If you pop in downtown, it reminds me of royal oak. There's sidewalk and cute small shops to stop in. I haven't had the chance to visit many of the shops, but I look forward to. They do have some construction going on towards that area, depending on where you are coming from. I might stop by near the spring, when it isn't so cold. My favorite thing about Mt Clemens is driving through some of the streets near the center. There are gorgeous homes that are absolutely stunning. I kove looking at different styles of homes and colors.

I remember when as a kid I learned about how Christopher Columbus sailed up the Clinton River to…read moreland near the Farmer's Market and enjoy cider -n- donuts, then he and his merry band of men walked up into town and enjoyed one of the many mineral baths that were proliferant in the day. I enjoyed the 3rd Annual Columbus Day Parade. I hadn't been to one of these in probably a year or so! It was nice to see the marching bands from the area schools and social clubs. Also nice to see local politicians shaking hands with the spectators. Mount Clemens continues to provide great venues for family-friendly activities throughout the year. They always decorate for the season, placing overhead banners announcing the various activities throughout the year. I look forward to the day after Thanksgiving when Santa Claus arrives during the parade.

Every year this fair just gets better and better. There's consistently a nice mix of vendors (some…read morereturning, some new) with a variety of goods. It really is easy to find something for everyone at the fair. This year in particular was bananas. I came on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed. I had heard that they surpassed the entire weekend attendance from last year (5,000) in just one day on Saturday. Like I said, bananas. But the vibe is so good and positive that it doesn't feel uncomfortably crowded and the shoppers aren't rude or pushy. Just one big feel good shopping party. But it may be time to expand the space. Which is never a bad problem to have, I think? To keep growing. Just goes to show you how much love and support there is for handmade, local gifts in this town. I love it!

Even with the name change to Halloween at Greenfield Village, the level of experiences stayed the…read moresame. The new format they went with during Covid, makes it such a better experience. I have only missed one of these in 20 years (it was when EBS died in 2017) so I have the knowledge to compare. While I have been doing the dinners at either Taste of History or the Eagle Tavern the last few years, if you don't you will be able to find parking and be able to get quickly in. They even have an option for members to pay $5 to park in the shuttle lot and be let out near the Eagle Tavern in the back of the Village. Live action, storytellers, costume characters, and plenty of places to eat, you really can't see all of it during the time. All those carved pumpkins that line the streets give you laughs as you walk around. There is always a question mark or others that you wonder how much the carver had to drink before they did it. Food trucks, 2 restaurants open to the crowd and other places to get food means no long lines like there used to be. Plenty of reasons to spend money on Halloween and regular items. Kids could drive you nuts begging for stuff. I will be back as long as I can.
